400+ words, ready to grade

Brusky woke up in the morning with a great sense of pride following a 4-3 win over Minnesota the night before. The Renegades had just won their sixth straight game and were now 10-1-1 in their last 12 games. Two thirds of the way through the season, Brusky and his Renegades found themselves sitting firmly in 4th place within the Western Conference and in a playoff position for the first time in his career. His first two seasons were a rough and tough introduction to the SHL, as Texas missed the playoffs both seasons and quite frankly never had a chance to make it from the beginning. He came into the S52 season with the mindset that the team was still in rebuilding mode and that it would be extremely unlikely for them to make any noise this season. The team has managed to find their groove this season however and are now likely to be battling for a playoff position until the very end over the final third of the regular season, despite what the so-called "experts" predicted.

Many players on the Texas roster have seen great growth so far this season, both on and off the ice. The team is extremely young and easily has one of the best prospect system in the entire league. Brusky himself is on pace to equal or set new career highs in nearly every major statistical category. It's unlikely that he ties his high of 5 goals in a season, which was set during his rookie year, but he stands a chance to equal his career high in assists with 18. It's also likely that he'll match his high in points for a season with 21. This season has been his best all around season to date, as he's on pace for his best plus/minus while currently sitting at a -3. The physical game has been upped this season too as he's on pace to shatter his career best of 83 hits (currently on pace for 100). The shot blocking is right on par with his previous season, looking to tally somewhere in the 80s.

With the season being in full swing and teams entering the final stretch to make the playoffs, it's sure to be an exciting time around the Texas locker room as they look to make the playoffs for the first time since the S47 season. After years of rebuilding, it looks like the Renegades have gotten themselves into a prime spot to begin their ascension to the top of the league. Making the playoffs is the first step of the journey. From there, the sky's the limit.
