Will Lockwood grew up in Bloomington Hills, Michigan. Somewhat of a mid-sized town, Bloomington Hills was a hockey town. Lots of kids played and many adults and families regularly attended the Detroit Falcons Games. William Lockwood, or as his friends called him Will, was no acceptation. From a young age he played hockey with friends every chance he could, whether it was travel teams or pond hockey. Will kept himself in good shape and gave every game all the effort he could muster. He always looks to improve his game and his physicality if he can. He takes the suggestions and advice from friends and coaches into consideration when planning his daily workouts and diets.
In the locker room, Will was a motivator and a leader, wearing the “C” for his team for most of his time in high school. He often was respected by his teammates and friends because of of the respect he showed others. And despite being extremely competitive, he also had great sportsmanship and encouraged his teammates to do the same. This being said, he was still willing to stand up for his teammates whether verbally or physically after a cheap shot. While being well known in his hometown, Will often likes to stay out of the spotlight and hang out with his friends and family. Will does occasionally take a picture with a fan, sign pictures, flips a puck, etc. This being said, he’s a fairly humble person and never acts like he is better then the “average joe”. He’s always thankful of his fans and the people that support him. Will recently won the championship with his travel team, the Bloomington Hills Barons. As is tradition, Will was the first to raise the trophy before each of his teammates celebrated the win. It was the greatest moment of Will’s career, better then his 200th game and better then his 200th point. Well it’s the greatest moment so far, as the best is yet to come. With the SMJHL draft on the horizon, Will hopes to be wearing a Detroit Falcons Jersey next season. His hometown team has helped him grow into being the player he is today. However, he is more then willing to play for however drafts him and giving that team everything he has in the tank. Will hopes to make an immediate impact for whatever club chooses him. And then is only a matter of time before his dream of playing in the SHL comes true. |
