A Renegades + Berserkers unlikey collaboration (2x Media)
#1

Before I get into this media piece, i'd just like to give a shoutout to myself for actually being willing to write this after I had gotten about 1.5k words in and had it being deleted due to SHL freezing on chrome, so shoutout to me.

As those of you know who have been following along with some of my previous media posts, they've been re-drafting my S52 SHL draft class, and then a Prospect profile of my then rookie Newfoundland Berserkers teammates! This post is gonna be a little different, as now many of my teammates were drafted in the S53 draft this past weekend, i'm gonna revisit where I had initially predicted them to be drafted, see what SHL team they're now on and so forth. On top of all this, I will also be doing a profile on some of my new teammates on the Texas Renegades, similar to what I did in my last article for my SMJHL teammates.

I would also like to mention that in this post I will not be using the player analyze sheet for TPE totals, as it hasn't been updated to show the TPE changes that have occurred up to this point in the off season.

Without further ado, let's get right into it boys.

Starting with my boy Hair himself aka Steve Harrington or @NeonLime

With what came as no surprise for anybody, was Harrington being selected 3rd overall by the Buffalo Stampede. As stated in my prospect profile, Steve has been killing it in every facet of the SHL, and it is no surprise to see him here being selected 3rd overall. Now that the draft is behind us means the TPE opportunities come in HOT, and Steve isn't wasting any time to take advantage of all these opportunities, and putting those deep pockets to work. When I had originally published my prospect profile Harrington was sitting at a Nice 279 TPE, fast forward literally 5 days and that number has increased to 369 TPE, for those of you at home who have the math comprehension level of @ThatDamnWalrus that's an increase of 90 TPE. Again, no surprise here as Steve has been a total workhorse and I'm glad to see him end up on a shitty team like Buffalo! Just kidding, I love you dad. (@WannabeFinn). Also gonna give myself some credit for predicting Harrington would be selected high, not that it takes a brainiac to do so, but it's my article so I can say what I want *shrug*

Now for some nice pre and post draft stats for my boy Hair:

Pre Draft
TPE: 279
Bank Balance: $29M
Predicted Pick Selection: High 1st round

Post Draft
TPE: 369
Bank Balance: $20M (Keep in mind with that large TPE increase means money's got to be spent somewhere)
Actual Selection: 3rd overall by the Buffalo Stampede Stampede

Moving swiftly along we now have big boy Juke! Jukka Timonen, @Smalinowski7

This is a summary I'm super pumped to write about as for whatever reason it seemed as if Juke was being slept on as being selected high in the first round for whatever reason. Too be honest, I'm surprised he even went when he did considering what he's provided to the league up to this point. If you recall from the prospect profile, Juke and Steve had very similar numbers in terms of bank balance, TPE, and the obvious high amounts of activity. With that being said I'm surprised the two were selected 7 picks from one another. With that being out of the way, Jukka went 10th overall to the Manhattan Rage, which I see as a tremendous fit. Not only does Jukka get to go to the defending Challenge Cup Champion Rage, but he goes to a team that is run by users who have the same mentality as him, take over the damn league in every sort of way. We all know @luketd is a sweat, I'm not sure Jukka would call himself that, and because he is personally a good friend of mine I'll classify him as what he classifies himself as, a "nerd", which is close enough? Either way congratulations to both Manhattan and Jukka on what seems to be a great fit. A little closing note: kind of disappointed in you other GMs who didn't listen to my prediction of Jukka going high 1st round as it is well deserved. Oh well, he'll make ya'll pay and it iz what it izzzzzz. Damn, I got too carried away gassing Juke up about irrelevant shit that I didn't even talk about his current TPE total. He's already at 366 TPE. YEP, an increase of 87 TPE.... Okay, that's all.

Timonen's pre and post draft stats:
Pre Draft
TPE: 279
Bank Balance: $26.5M
Predicted Pick Selection: High 1st round

Post Draft
TPE: 366
Bank Balance: $16.3M (Again, with the large TPE increase that bank's gotta be hit at least a tad.)
Actual Selection: 10th overall by the Manhattan Rage Rage

Continuing on we have another player that I'm stoked about and that's my boy Ryuuji Minamino or @Nhamlet, or as us Newfies call him ham. Ham is a player that I've said although he doesn't possess the bank account of some of my other greasy teammates, he's still going to provide a LR with a ton of activity and a very solid TPE earning rate. When initially publishing the prospect profile, hammie was sitting at 266 TPE, since that point he has increased 55 TPE and is now sitting nicely at 321 TPE. I had also initially stated that Ham would be a late 1st rounder or early 2nd round pick, and my God, although Ham knows I mean no disrespect with that prediction, it's more assuming these GM's have their head up there ass, I'm still going to apologize as he definitely proved some people wrong coming in as the 11th selection in the draft going to Chicago. Not only is going 11th a great achievement, but he gets to stay in the Newfoundland inner circle, as our GM's @JNH & @SDCore both play for Chicago. Definitely an exciting time for ham and the boys in Chiraq, congratulations to you guys respectively!

Hammie's pre and post draft stats:
Pre Draft
TPE: 266
Bank Balance: $5.35M
Predicted Pick Selection: Late 1st round early 2nd round

Post Draft
TPE: 321
Bank Balance: $1.1M
Actual Selection: 11th overall by the Chicago Syndicate syndicate

I'm just realizing as I move on to this next absolute beauty of a player that if I said I'm pumped for another player being selected from Newfoundland, it'd literally be everyone up to this point, so I'm just gonna shut up with that. However, the number 1 overall selection in our hearts got drafted and I know everyone in the Newfoundland locker room (not just me) is psyched for Mr. Clean himself, better known as (Clean) Andrei Kostitsyn. With all the banter aside, I'm glad there was a team willing to put the memes aside and take a flier on Andrei. Opposed to restating what I said in my prospect profile (no I'm not gonna make you all go back and read it) I'm just gonna quote it is as I think it describes how myself, and I would assume many others feel about Andrei perfectly. "Although Andrei may not offer some of the same things that Minomino, Harrington and Timonen offer, he brings something really important to the table. That being activity in the locker room, with that activity comes an absolutely awesome dose of hilariousness." I really have no other way to put it other than that, and I'm glad that Hamilton has found him to have a purpose in their locker room! On draft day, Andrei came in with 240 TPE, since then he's boosted that number up quite a bit and now sits at 272 TPE, a solid increase of 32 TPE.

P.S. I apologize for the disrespect Father Andrei... as I said you'd end up going Mid 3rd to early 4th and you went early 3rd, atta boy.

Andrei's pre and post draft stats:
Pre Draft
TPE: 240
Bank Balance: $1.1M
Predicted Pick Selection: Mid 3rd early 4th round.

Post Draft
TPE: 321
Bank Balance: $1.2M
Actual Selection: 36th overall by the Hamilton Steelhawks Steelhawks

Moving on to our last, but not least Berserker selected we have Patric Twist aka Patty. Although, I don't know a whole lot about Patty as I've already stated, I'm always stoked to see Berserkers moving on to the next level and I feel the same away about Twist being selected! Although his TPE total isn't anything to be wow'd by right now, that's not to say he won't get his second wind and come back to the league. After all, the league is a marathon and not a sprint (my new favorite saying tbh). Twist doesn't have much of a bank roll to work with at the moment, and hasn't updated in nearly a month, but hopefully he comes back soon to a least capitalize on some of the off-season TPE opportunities, as he's stayed stagnant at 214 TPE since February 20th. None the less, congratulations to him and the Pride on their selection, and I hope for the best!

Twist's pre and post draft stats:
Pre Draft
TPE: 214
Bank Balance: $300K
Predicted Pick Selection: Late 4th early 5th round

Post Draft
TPE: 214
Bank Balance: $300K
Predicted Pick Selection: 47th overall by the San Francisco Pride pride

In terms of Berserkers drafted 5 of our 9 eligible prospects found a new home as of the Season 53 SHL draft. Those who are left on the board and will be available for next seasons draft are: Vince Chalut, Ryan Aaron, Mattias Birdstrom and Gregory Stiemsma.

Now here's where we change the flow up, as stated above I also have some new teammates in Texas who I am yet to do a profile on, so I'm gonna take that time to go in-depth on the three newest members of the Texas Renegades Renegades

Starting with the 4th overall pick in the draft we have Edward Williams (@Aephino) Center, from the Detroit Falcons.

This is a pick I am absolutely stoked about as he's looked like a total monster in every regard. Not only is he sitting at an insane 366 TPE, but he also covers a huge need for us which is a center for the future. Similarly to some of my stud teammates in Newfoundland, Williams has a nice chunk of cash, as he currently sits at a nice $22M. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to tearing up the league with my new teammate.

Because I took a look at my Newfoundland teammates stats in their prospect profile, I'll see what Williams was able to do in his 1st season as a Falcon. In 50 regular season games Williams managed to put up 14 goals and 18 assists, for a total of 32 points and a +/- of +1. On top of this he also finished the season with a FO% of 46.39, a number I'd say is pretty damn solid for his 1st year in the league. Taking a more in-depth look at Detroit's teams stats I was able to find that Williams' 32 points was good to lead all rookies on his team, I should also mention that this production came from the 4th line of, a very stacked Detroit Falcons team. I don't expect anything less than bigger and better things from him in the next couple seasons as he progresses in the minors. For what it's worth, he also was tied with Danny White of the Anchorage Armada for the league lead in rookie points, if that isn't icing on the cake then I don't know what else is.

Next up is another new member of the Renegades I'm super pumped about, also a member of the Detroit Falcons I present to you, Right Wing, Burlok Sulfurgold, @leviadan. Not only is it pretty neat that Sulfurgold gets to join his teammate from the minor leagues at the next level, but he has also provided some insane TPE production. Before the draft Sulfurgold was sitting at a solid 297 TPE, fast forward a week and he's had an increase of 56 TPE and now is sitting at 353 TPE. I don't know what's in the water in Detroit, but even if it's lead I'm all fucking for it. Although, I'm surprised Sulfurgold fell to us at 19, by no means am I upset I'll tell you that for sure. Given this draft did start out quite strong, but in the end your draft position doesn't mean shit besides showing every other manager what they missed out on by skipping on you.

Like Williams, let's take a look at Sulfurgold's production after one full season in the SMJHL. STHS never seizes to amaze me with it's randomness as well as horribleness, as on the 3rd line of the team who finished atop the regular season standings in the SMJHL standings Sulfurgold's numbers were the following: 50 games played, 5 goals and 7 assists for a total of 12 points and a +/- of -6. Either way, I could care less what he did in the first season of his career, especially in the minors, while playing with a super inconsistent simulation. What matters, is his TPE production and what he brings to the locker room as a teammate.

Last but not least we have Eric Hudson @EricNCSU, who was selected 21st overall from the St. Louis Scarecrows, and will be playing Left Wing. You'll notice a common theme with everything throughout this article is how pumped I am for every selection. Being able to select a player of Hudson's ability at 21st overall is insane. Not to mention, all of the players we've selected (this also goes for the top Berserkers selected!) aren't wasting anytime to get into the big off-season upgrades. Since draft day, Hudson who started with 276 TPE has gone up 65 TPE and now sits at 341 TPE. Hudson rounds out a top 3 who will be over 400 TPE when their second season of the juniors comes to a conclusion.

Before I cream my pants lets take a look into what Hudson brought to the table for the Scarecrows in his first season in the SMJHL. Hudson finished his first season with 7 goals and 5 assists, good for 12 points. He also amassed a +/- of +2. Once again, numbers aren't something I'm worried about at this point of their career given the quality of the garbage sim known as STHS, and the surrounding cast of junior players that each of these players are surrounded by. Not to mention this production came from the 3rd line of a team who finished in the bottom half of the SMJHL. All stats are at this point are a cherry on top, however in my opinion, that's all they should really ever be seen as, as there's only so much we can do as users to control that production, but that's a conversation for a different time.

All in all, I am beyond excited what the future holds for all of these players, whether they are my current teammates, future teammates, or future rivals. I always know where my true colors lie, and I hope my Berserkers know that too! Berserkers Renegades

Mark my words, in 10 seasons when we look at doing a S53 SHL re-draft, I'll be AT LEAST 3 positions higher.
