Eric Vanderberg! Jets Jets Jets

Finishing the regular season with a glowing 9.7 relCF%, 800 steals and a steals to turnover ratio of 1.389 all while being on a non-playoff team Eric was an absolute stud in his own end. Congratulations @Vandy !

Up next we have the always heavily debated Jeff Dar trophy. Awarded to the forward who best exhibits two way play it can be quite difficult to peg the winner in a league that leans so heavily on offense. This year’s nominees are…

Lil Manius Specters @Bonk
Cameron Carter II syndicate @Boomcheck
Viktor Marius Stampede @karey

And the winner is…

Thanks for the sig ragnar!

Cameron Carter II! syndicate syndicate syndicate

Finishing the season with 255 hits, he led the entire league by a significant margin and terrorized opponents with his punishing style of game play. By no means one dimensional, he also collected 51 points, and finished inside the top 10 in assists and shots on goal. Congratulations @Boomcheck . Care to make it a turkey in S53?

Thanks for the sig ragnar!

Before we move on to the biggest individual awards of the night let’s take a quick trip back to the S52 SHL playoffs. Following up on a strong regular season the Manhattan Rage struggled in round 2 against a formidable Chicago Syndicate team. They would however eliminate them in a winner takes all game 7, before dispatching the Stampede in 6 games to earn the eastern conference champion crown. After a hard fought 6 game series they would eliminate the western champion San Francisco Pride to lift the greatest award in the SHL, the Challenge Cup. It’s no surprise then that our nominees for the Anton Razov trophy awarded to the playoff MVP are all the rage…

Peter Larson Rage @Tomasnz
Luke Thomason Rage @luketd
Alex Winters Rage @39alaska39

And the winner is…

Peter Larson! Rage Rage Rage

Leading the voting by a wide margin, it’s no surprise here as McBride winner was able to build on an already incredible regular season finishing the post season with a sparkling 0.932 save percentage and a GAA of 2.31, vastly better than any other goalie in the playoffs. Congratulations @Tomasnz !

Thanks for the sig ragnar!

The next two awards are given to the best of the best. Every year players vie to be called the most valuable player in the league, but only one may win. The first one up for grabs is the Ron Mexico trophy given to the MVP of the season as deemed by the awards committee. The list of nominees are stiff this time around…

Aaron Wilson Steelhawks @aaronwilson
Philipp Winter Panthers @RomanesEuntDomus
Peter Larson Rage @Tomasnz

And the winner is…

Philipp Winter! Panthers Panthers Panthers

Leading the entire league in goals and points is no easy feat, but to do so while also collecting 128 hits makes it just that much more impressive. He led all Panthers in scoring by a wide margin and was a huge reason why the Los Angeles based squad were able to taste playoff action in S52. Congratulations @RomanesEuntDomus !

The second MVP award, the Sarmad Khan trophy is much like the Mexico, however it is awarded to the player deemed MVP as voted by the players. Anyone is eligible, and while it tends to be the same names we’d find in contention for the Mexico there is always the potential for an upset. This year’s winner iiiiiiissss…….

Peter Larson! Rage Rage Rage

Damn I can’t think of the last time I saw a goalie here. As already mentioned in the McBride award win Larson was an absolute rock for the Manhattan Rage this year and proved to be the difference maker again and again. Congratulations @Tomasnz !

Peter Larson - 27
Philipp Winter - 7
Cameron Carter II - 3
Nicholas Williams - 2

Thanks for the sig ragnar!
