S53 Toronto North Stars Awards

Ladies and gentlemans, welcome to the first ever Toronto North Stars team awards!  I am CO-GM of TOR and will be your host tonight!
As our locker room got bigger and more lively over the season, we wanted to award those who give their best every season to make the team better and also the locker room a place you wanna be!
I want to give out a special thanks to @ml002 for all the things he has done for the team and will do in the future! You rock bud!
The awards will be split into two parts, consisting of statistical awards and the team voted awards. After this we will head to the Hall of Fame ceremony where we will honor players from the past who gave their all to the team! So without further ado let's start the award show.



Statistical Awards

The first award handed out will be the Mikhail Lokitonov award.
Which goes to the player with the most assists during the season.
And the winner of the S53 Mikhail Lokitonov award will be:



@Rich - Bobby Lane

Lane had 23 assists in 50 games and was a big part of the offensive part of the team!


Next up is the Chris York award.
The player with the most goals in the regular season will receive this award.
And the winner of the S53 Chris York award will be:



@Mika_Kandinsky - Mika Kandinsky

Kandinsky scored 14 goals during S53 and was one of the best two-way players of the team.


Coming next is the Robbert Spezza award.
This award will be handed out to the player with the most points during the whole season
And the winner of the S53 Robert Spezza award will be:

Lane scored 35 points during the season beating second place by 3 points.


Our 4th award will be the Zander Rhys award.
This award will be given out to the player who tried taking away some saves from our keeper in blocking them.
And the winner of the S53 Zander Rhys award will be:



@UrsinZ - Ursin Zimmermann

Zimmermann blocked 161 which are the 8th most blocked shots during the whole season.


The next statistical award handed out is the Jeff Dar award.
Which is awarded to the player who has the best GVA and TKA over the season.
The Jeff Dar award of S53 goes to:



@Mika_Kandinsky - Mika Kandinsky

Kandinsky lost the puck only 26 times to the opponent. He took it away 46 times being the 3rd best in the whole league in this stat!


Next up is the Jonathan Lundberg award.
This award goes to the player with the most hits during the season.
And the winner of the S53 Jonathan Lundberg award will be:

With 46 hits in his rookie season he already showed that he isn't shy on using his body.


The final statistical award is the John Grossman Jr. award.
Which is awarded to the player with the most PIM's during the season.
And the John Grossman Jr. award goes to:

Last-Name made sure to show the opponents who's the boss on the ice with 34 PIM's this season.


With this we have handed out all our statistical awards. Congrats to the winners!
Before we start with the second half of the award show we have an important announcement to make about our staff.

Starting next season we will have a new coach behind the benches. We want to welcome @jeffie43 as our new coach!
Even though Jeffie is pretty new to the team he's been a great addition to the locker room. From day one with us he wants to get more involved.


Back to the award ceremony starting with the team voted awards.


Team Voted Awards

To start with the Team Voted Awards we will hand out the best media award.
This award is given to the creator of the best media piece of this season.
And the winner of this award is:


@mdubz - Alexei Petrikov with his Goalie Mask SIG's

Mdubz's is putting out a lot of awesome graphics but this one stood out the most!
(Honorable mentions: Rich and Luke's Podcast)

The second award we will hand out is the Mika Kandinsky award.
Which goes to the best rookie of the season.
And the award goes to:



@UrsinZ - Ursin Zimmermann

Zimmermann had a great rookie season with 35 Points being the best rookie among defenders.


Our 10th award this night to complete the "Stängeli" is the Benjamin Wong award.
This award is awarded to the best forward of the season.
And the winner of the S53 Benjamin Wong award will be:



@Mika_Kandinsky - Mika Kandinsky

Kandinsky had an incredible season! Not just being the second best scorer on the team but also a great two way center and a great captain in the LR.


The Darian Scherbluk award will be the next award presented.
The best defensive player of the season will be the one receiving it.
And the S53 Darian Scherbluk award goes to:



@UrsinZ - Ursin Zimmermann

Zimmermann had a great defensive season to start of his SHL career.


The 12th award of the night will be the Mark Harter award.
Which goes to the best goalie of the season.
And the winner of the Mark Harter award is:



Eddy Ask Jr.
Eddy had a great season this year an.... Oh damn i read that wrong. I am so sorry i read the wrong line the winner isn't Eddy Ask Jr. the winner is:

@Carpy48 - Harry Carpet

Playing in front of the worst defense of the league and still managing to have a 0.906 SV%,  that just shows how dominant Carpet is as a goalie.


Coming next is the JJ Krever award.
The player who helped make the LR a cosy and awesome place to stay in the most during the season will receive this award
The award of this season will be awarded to:

We had many nominees for this award which tells me that we have a great group of guys in our LR!


The last award we voted on, is the highest award we voted on.
It's named Kristian Eriksson and is awarded to the Most Valuable Player of the season.
The honor of taking home this award is given to:





@Carpy48 - Harry Carpet

Carpet had an incredible season! Being one of the key pieces of our current and future team! Not just as a player but also as a voice in the locker room!



Toronto North Stars Hall of Fame

To close the evening we gonna honor some players who gave their all in the past for the Toronto North Stars. Who are and will be role models for our current and future players.
This season we're gonna raise two banners to the rafters.

The first player we are honoring will be Zander Rhys.
In his 821 games for Toronto Rhys scored 144 goals and 413 assists resulting in 557 points!

And the second player whose name will be raised to the rafters is going to be @ml002 - Mikhail Lokitonov.
Lokitonov was dominating the season for a long time! He played in 550 games for the Toronto North Stars. Having 525 points, consisting of 196 goals and 329 assists! What an incredible career!
ML you have been the gm of this team since S44. Even tough there were some tough days you still believed in the team. You managed to draft an awesome group of people! Whom are greatfull to have you as a gm and an awesome dude in the locker room. We as a team want to thank you for all the hard work you have done for the team! (Also thanks for not moving us to Prince George)

With that we conclude the first Toronto North Stars team awards. Congratulations to all the winners. I am glad to be a part of this awsome team and can't wait to see what the future has in hand for us.
