You've done a lot of cool new things this season - what's on your highlight reel?
Written option: Tell us about at least three things on your highlight reel from this season - they don't necessarily have to be things you did on the ice, though of course those are acceptable (150+ words).
Graphic option: Make a graphic of your #1 highlight moment from this season, whatever that may be. Must include a render of some kind (but if that's a Paint stick figure, that works) and be intelligible.
Reward
4 TPE for doing the thing. (Just one of the options, not both.)
Only S56 SMJHL Rookies (S57 SHL Draftees) are eligible for this PT.

Tyler Wards first highlight actually came as a loss. But the game was good enough to get him the first star of the night. When QCC faced off against the Armada, Ward had to face 51 shots on the night. Only allowing in 2 on the night. Ward stood on his head to try and keep his team in the game. Earning himself a game rating of 98 and a SV% of .961. A few games later Tyler Ward would secure his first win and revenge against ANC.
That game would start Tyler Wards 4 game winning streak, the longest in his young career. With starting goalie Mat Smith being called up. Tyler got his time in the spotlight. Tyler managed to end this streak with a shutout against NL. The first in his career! That night was something to remember as the team went out to Denny's. The final highlight on Tyler Ward's season, so far, would be his 3-0 shut out against SLT. Leading the team to another Denny's visit.
Sean Gatezs' #1 highlight has to be his first goal in the SMJHL. 14 Games into the season and Sean had yet to put a point on the score sheet. In their 4th matchup against Quebec, Sean found himself posted up in front of QCCs net and was able to deflect a pass from Calvin Hobbs past the goalie and potting his first goal of his career. The timber would go on to win the game 7-2.
#2 would have to be in the final minutes of a game against Nevada. Down by one, Sean gets into stride for a break away and ties up the game to send it into overtime. Eventually leading to the Main winning 5-4.
#3 is less of highlights and more of Sean finally showing comfort in the league. In a loss to the Scarecrows, Sean was at least showing signs of not giving up against a tough game. Potting 1 assist, being +2 for the night, getting 2 shots on goal, blocking a shot, and laying down a bone crushing hit. While the game itself was a loss, it was a win for Sean's confidence in the league.
The highlight of Lakkamaa's season thus far came during a 8 - 4 loss against the Quebec City Citadelles, 3.4 minutes into the first period. After an attempted pass to Taylor Gervais by Pablo Salvatici missed the mark, Jasper Maximov attempted to make his way past Tokkulu Lakkamaa. Unfortunately, the absolute defensive beast that is Tokkulu Lakkamaa absolutely STRIPPED Jasper Maximov of the puck and made a bad angle shot and tied the game. This goal was long-awaited for the young Finn, who scored his first after 40 games played. Tokkulu Lakkamaa had a good game compared to his usual performances, assisting with Pablo Salvatici on a goal by Igor Victory, and also had roughly 7 shots on goal during the game.
The second highlight of the season has to be playing wing with draft peer Pablo Salvatici. Together, the two have combined for a dangerous secondary/tertiary scoring threat that teams have to look out for.
The third highlight of the season would be being drafted by Anchorage. Anchorage was the ideal spot for Tokkulu, and with interest spurred from a multitude of other teams. The training and development programs available at Anchorage have thus far been a great service for his development as a player.
Pablo Salvatici's stellar rookie season for the Anchorage Armada of the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League has been chalked full of highlights thus far. The first came before he even played a game however. During the post draft celebrations with his family he found out he was drafted alongside his childhood teammate Tokkulu Lakkamaa and would be playing with him again. The two reunited on the flight to Anchorage prior to the preseason.
The second came during the second game of the regular season against the Maine Timber. Early in the second period Pablo Salvatici receives a pass low from Taylor Gervais. He steps out and fires it back to Gervais at the top of the slot and hustles to the front of the net to screen Maine goaltender. Gervais fires it low and Salvatici tips it fivehole on Leo Bloomfield. Only five periods of hockey before Pablo managed to net his first career SMJHL goal, and it's one that he'll remember forever.
The third and final highlight is playing in Anchorage alongside some talented players. Getting a chance to play with players such as Scoochie Stratton, Pojo Biscuit, Bork Lazer and Matthew Sawful before they were called up is a dream come true for Pablo.
Michael Scotch has had a terrific time in the SMJHL and has had plenty of highlight reel moments. He feels that although this isn't the offensive season he was expecting it was still full of moments that could end up on his career highlight reel.
His first highlight was his first point. In the third game of the season Michael Scotch got his first assist against the Knights. Michael Scotch received a pass and took aim and fired at the net. However he wasn't aiming for the twine, "Long" John Donair was screening the goalie and got his stick on it and tipped the puck. His first ever point gave him an exhilarating rush that may only be topped with playoff wins or his first goal.
His second highlight was the welcoming environment his coaches and teammates have delivered. Scotch was always shy growing up and critics in the top US midget leagues criticized his lack of defensive skills and his huge focus on offense for a defensemen. Coaches and staff worked tirelessly and his teammates never doubted he could improve these skills. Thanks to all of them he is now a rapidly improving defensemen in the SMJHL and can hold his own against almost anyone.
His third highlight was being drafted. He heard rumors that his name wouldn't be called to the early to mid third round so he watched the first round go by and was expecting to watch the second go as well. Then his phone rang and it was the Outlaws GM, he told Scotch that they believed they had the right coaches to turn him into a real dual threat on the blueline and were taking him 19th overall. His friends and family jumped with joy and showered him in praise and this was the day where Scotch knew his life would forever change.
The first thing in Sonata Diamante's career that he remembers is his first contract. He signed on with the Colorado Raptors without any hesitation and certainly was made welcome in a hurry. It was extremely convenient for him, landing in Denver to play his first game in front of 8,505 at the InGEN Center in Denver against the Maine Timber.
He would then go on to his second career highlight in getting his first point in his first SMJHL game. He assisted on Bobby Motz's 3rd period even-strength goal to put Colorado on the board when they were trailing 2-0. Alex Marshall had scored twice for the Timber in both the first and second periods, but Diamante's play to Motz would begin a third-period rally that saw Colorado come back from behind to win 3-2.
His third highlight in his rookie career is the 1-4-5 point streak he had in 6 games playing on a 4th line. He was really motivated and helped contribute to two wins during his streak. Here's hoping more point streaks come along for this fella
Looking back at the season thus far, one of Vlastislav Malik's favorite moments is his first-ever SHL point, a goal against the Nevada Battleborn in his very first pre-season game. Kelowna lost the game 2-3 in regulation time, but Malik will always look back fondly at the first highlight of his career. In fact, the entire pre-season ended up being quite the highlight for this season, considering Malik finished with 3G, 1A, 13 hits, and a 37.5%, being one of his team's top offensive leaders.
Another highlight, combining exciting events on and off the ice, is the coming together of the Quadruplets on the Kelowna Knights! Vlastislav Malik is quite happy being able to play on a line with Brennan Huff and Cian McFelter, both of whom signed with the Knights after the past SMJHL draft. To cap things off, recently, the Knights' GMs pulled off a trade to acquire Robert Feltersnatch from the Colorado Raptors, re-uniting the HD friends! There'll be plenty of highlights coming!
Arsene's three highlights of the season kicks off in the preseason where he was picked as the first selection in the draft. Having put in a lot of work in the lead up to the draft, it was the great reward for the work put in, and will be a highlight for a long time to come.
The second was the welcome he received from his team when he joined them. He was welcomed with open arms even though most people did not even know him at all, and it has been a regular highlight since the draft to be in such a warm and cohesive locker room.
The third of many highlights is the success Anaheim is having on the ice! Coming into the season many people were not expecting much from Anaheim, but Arsene's stellar rookie season paired with some exceptional play from returning players, and fellow rookies, has propelled them into the discussion for a potential deep run into the playoffs. Hopefully we can turn that highlight into a four star cup and have an even better highlight in my first season.
Yanno Rosejac came into the league wanting to burn everything up, stat wise that is. But has yet to register a single shut out! Definitely a low point at the moment.
Highlight number 1 would have to be a stellar performance put on by Yanno in between the posts. Registering the win no doubt with a 37 save performance on 39 shots against versus one of the top teams in the league the Anaheim Outlaws. Proud moment right there!
Highlight number 2 will have to be coming into the league as a green rookie who never played pro hockey before and almost getting the starting netminder job right out of the gates. I never thought I would get so many starts in my first year but here I am with 27 games played out of 39 team games played, while it was shared at the beginning of the season, now it is out right my gig to lose.
Highlight number 3 is off the ice, a proud moment for player Rosejac and user Demo can share together as they put up a 33 TPE update in one showing, felt great upgrading those attributes.
1. Sniff's first goal of his SMJHL career came about halfway through the season. The boys pranked him by "misplacing" the goal puck. Rude considered this to be the highest of disrespect but pretended to laugh along. He would get his revenge at a later date.
2. Sniff went on to score four more goals before finally receiving his first assist. The boys claimed he was selfish and that he would never make a pass. This was true. His revenge was playing out.
3. The captain took Sniff out to dinner after a win one night. It was pleasant, and their girlfriends got along well. At the end of the night the captain and his girlfriend dumped pig's blood on Sniff and his girlfriend. "That's for being a selfish player!" Sniff would reply "Ok, see you at practice tomorrow."
He will never forget this season of firsts. It's been as fun as it has been frustrating but every moment has been rewarding and informative.

Breaking into the league hasn't been easy for Jari Heikkinen. The ice surface is smaller, the pace of play is faster, and the players are generally more physical. With that in mind, likely the first highlight of his season was game six of the regular season, when the Quebec Citadelles -- mired in a season-starting losing streak -- finally managed to notch a win. Not just a win at that, but a convincing win: 6-1 over Anaheim. That was good enough on its own, but it was also the game in which Heikkinen registered his first point, registering an assist. It was one of his better early games, and it did a lot to boost his confidence, as well as that of his team. Granted, their struggles wouldn't end there.
The next highlight was, unfortunately, in a loss. In game 13 of the regular season against the Maine Timber, Heikkinen scored the lone goal for the Citadelles in what would go on to be a 2-1 loss. As much as the disappointing end was a blow to team morale, especially given they outshot (and arguably outplayed) the Timber, it did mark Heikkinen's first personal goal. A win would have been preferable, but your first goal in North America is obviously going to be a big deal. The third and final highlight came during a more successful game, in a 6-4 win against Anchorage. Although commentators noted that Heikkinen's performance during that game was a little porous defensively, he managed to have his single most successful offensive showing with 2 goals and an assist for 3 points. To top that off, he was named first star of the game in what is, for Heikkinen, likely to be a very rare honour.
It must be stated that most of Heikkinen's successes haven't come from dazzling single efforts, but steady and consistent team play. He's not the kind of person who's going to carry a game by himself or make the highlight reel on ESPN. What he is, however, is a player who can sometimes find himself on the scoreboard as a result of clever passes, smooth skating, and decent shooting. That was true of his three point game as much as it has been of his single-point outings.
Anton first highlight was of course signing contract with Detroit Falcons. After that people welcome me very warm and nowadays I think that I'm good part of locker room.
The first point was against Vancouver Whalers at 13. regular season match. It was pass to Oskar Baldus 3-3 tie goal. First goal was against Nevada Battleborn at 32. regular season match. It was 4-2 lead goal and those was my second highlight.
Mihailov third highlight at this season was when I get 42 second powerplay time, but unfortunately Mihailov can't make any points.
Of course Mihailov want achieve a lot of more highlight in his career for sure, but he's also realistic. He knows there it a lot of road far away and he need to train as hard as he can to make possible to reach his dreams and future highlights for sure! Maybe someday he can make longer list of his highlights.. Until that, see you soon!
