Bruchevski talks 100 Goals and the Wolfpack
#1

[Double Media Week - Holidays Edition] 580 words

On December 17th Jakub Bruchevski scored his 100th and 101st SHL goals against the team he scored his 1st against, the Tampa Bay Barracudas. Hitting the century mark is always a big achievement in a goal scorer's career and with Jakub it's no different. It takes a lot of skill, teammate help and a little bit of luck to achieve. It took 5 and half seasons to reach the 100 mark, a big reason Jakub got there is the management staff decided to move Bruchevski up to the 1st line after his 3rd season, since joining the top line he's got to play with great players Eko van Otter @hotdog, Slap McShotty @bbjygm, and Ethan Price @Zomp. Eko van Otter since leaving the Wolfpack has been a leader of the Inferno playing along side another high scoring winger. Slap McShotty the best playmaker in New England and one of the top forwards in the league. Ethan Price who already is already challenging Jakub as the best goal scorer on the Wolfpack, Price's future is incredible bright and will be hitting 100 sooner rather then later. So before I move onto the Wolfpack in general, cheers to 100 goals and hopefully atleast a 100 more.

In some ways it's been the season we kinda expected by the Wolfpack and in some ways not. The Wolfpack 3 leading scorers Bruchevski, Price and Mitchell van der Heijden @bluesfan55 are scoring slightly better then expected. MvdH was scoring at point per game pace for the first 20 or so games but has cooled a little bit since. Price is the current Wolfpack leader in goals with 29 who is in 6th place league wide. New England will finish the season with atleast 2 30 goalscorers (Price and Bruchevski), and 4 forwards scoring over 50 points (Price, Bruchvski, McShotty, and MvdH). While the offense has been pretty good this seasin the defense has struggled along a little this season. Lead by defensemen Dom Montgomery @bilbo, Sven Yxshaft @kenvald, and Goalie Frans Eller @Ace, the trio have been doing their best to keep NEW in games. Sven is 4th among Defensemen in shots blocked, while Dom is 4th among Defensemen in takeaways. Unfortunately outside of those 2 the blue line is very young for the Wolfpack and they are still getting used to the SHL, and also trading away long time Defenseman Perry Morgan. Meanwhile it probably isn't the season Eller would like either, the former rookie of the year has 3 shutouts and has managed to be 6th among goalies in game rating so it hasn't been all bad. The Wolfpack have allowed the 3rd most shots so Eller has had his work cut out for him.

The last group to talk about are the rookies forward Guomundur Kristjansson @Fluw, and defensemen James LeBlond @eMLBCommish, and Leonids Balzams @Cyanide. Kristjansson is having an outstanding season so far scoring 25 points and 55 shots blocked, the all around solid forward is having a great start to his pro career. LeBlond has also put up some decent numbers as a rookie, scoring 12 points 33 hits, showing he can produce all over the ice. Last but certainly not least is Balzams, and while he only has 10 points he does have 60 blocked shots and a positive giveaway to turnover ratio. Showing that the rookie has a strong defensive game already in his first season.

Makes me happy to see my old Crow teammate doing so well! Keep those goals coming, except when you play NOLA...
