They might have seen the one rookie tourny last year where Blacker was as good (if not better in some eyes) than Gardiner was who was also spectacular and he had a tremendous year in the NHL.

Gardener looks absolutely dominant out there. He and Kadri have been by far the best players on the ice in every game so far. Jake in particular makes everyone look like children when he has the puck.
