Today, I have a big announcement to make ahead of the finals. Currently, we don't have a captain and it would be weird to not have a captain during the finals. So I will be announcing the captains for the upcoming finals. I did have this written out a couple of weeks ago but I accidentally lost the media article and rewriting like 1000 words made it hard to rewrite the article. This has been a tough choice to consider as replacing Robert Phelps as the Captain of the Hamilton Steelhawks is going to be tough as he was the best captain any team could ever have. I was hoping that we were able to get his recreate but that doesn't look to be happening. The next Captain of the Hamilton Steelhawks will be a great friend of mine, someone who has been co-gm of the Hamilton Steelhawks before. I think he deserves to wear the C for Hamilton. That person will be someone who was drafted as a non-recreate 2nd overall. I think ever since his arrival to Hamilton, he has made a massive presence in our locker room. That person is Gabriel Johnson.

Gabe has been a great person to have in Hamilton and I am happy to name him as our next Captain. I am glad to be able to draft Gabriel Johnson and to know him. He has been one of my best friends on the site and I am happy to finally name him Captain. I think it's something that he deserves to wear proudly.


Our next Alternate Captain will be Tig Murphy. As a player, he just has too much history with being a stable in Hamilton. I know its just his corpse but he was a long time alternate Captain for us and it would be weird to not name him as an alternate Captain, I know it's going to be for a short time, and I will have to name a replacement but I just have too much history personally to not name him as an alternate Captain. @notorioustig you will be wearing an A in your last games in Hamilton.


Lastly, our other Alternate Captain will be someone that has been a Hamilton Steelhawk for all of his time on the site and he has been someone that is a massive leader in the dressing room. Skao Anazibf will be the other alternate Captain of the Hamilton Steelhawks for now. @nour is a great friend of mine too, so like it's kinda weird to name three people that are close to you as leaders of the team but I feel like this is just perfect for now. 


I think I could have named anyone in Hamilton as captain or alternate Captain as we got a long list of leaders and great guys in Hamilton.


Now, onto a bigger announcement, again, It would be weird to name a replacement for Teddy as the captain of the Hamilton Steelhawks without retiring his number. It has been something that I want to get back into doing introducing people into the Hamilton Steelhawks Hall of Fame and there is no better person to start this off than announcing Robert Phelps into the Hall of Fame. He has been a loyal soldier for us for basically 20 seasons, he deserves to be introduced here as he is the Hamilton Steelhawks. I wish @DrunkenTeddy all the best with his new player. He has been great for us and I expect him to be great for whatever team he plays on next. I can list his accolades that he has gotten in Hamilton for us. He might have not have been the best player in the world but he was always consistent for 40+ points in basically all of his years in Hamilton. He was with us when we're atop of the simulation hockey world and when we were at the point. He was a class act during his time and he was a great player for us. He has been missed this season and we were happy that we were able to win a cup in his last season in the SHL. Robert Phelps beat a record that I didn't could be beaten with the most points by a hamilton steel hawk, Joe Mckiel had that record for what seemed like a entire in real-life decade and Phelps has been the only person to beat. Phelps is the best Steelhawk of all time. He was loyal and he was a great person to have in Hamilton.




Next, I have another great friend of mine. Someone who has been a great steel hawk in the past and I think he honestly deserves to be in the Hamilton Steelhawks Hall of Fame, that person is Ronnie Westbrook. I think Westbrook was an important person in our first run in being a contender and honestly. He makes Hamilton a great place to be off the ice and honestly is usually the life of the party and keeps things interesting in Hamilton. He was a great player, alike teddy was never the best player at his position but someone who was giving us great performances every season, he was loyal to us and someone that I think again represents what I think Hamilton should be as a place to be just like Teddy. He switched positions to help us out as we needed defencemen and we had great depth at the center position. He did whatever was best for the team and whatever that could help Hamilton win at the end of the day. He might not have been an shl legend like Teddy but he was a Steelhawk Legend and someone that the fans should remember being an important building block for Hamilton.





Lastly, I guess I am introducing myself into the Hamilton Steelhawks Hall of Fame, this seems very weird to do but Ben Dover is in the SHL Hall of Fame so he probably belongs in the Hamilton Steelhawks Hall of Fame. Dover was someone who got 700 points in Hamilton as a defencemen something that I don't expect to be beaten any time soon. So he has a team-record just like Teddy. So here is my jersey that is going to be retired in Hamilton :
