S58 mPT #2 Most Important Stat
#76

Hey, kid, welcome to the league. Obviously you're going to want to focus all of your hard earned TPE into one single stat: shooting accuracy. You wanna pot goals like you're the second coming of Alexander Mikhailovich Ovechkin, don't you? Then shooting accuracy is where it's at. Of course, if you want to pot goals like the Great Eight, you're also going to want to get your positioning up. How else will you be able to sit at one spot on the ice and snap the puck in bar down? But for right now, all you need is shooting accuracy. Become one with the fifty goal scorer.

I would say you can’t go wrong with passing since it is a transferable skill! Even if you flame out as a SHL player, your passing skills can still help you pass out water bottles.

So you’ve climbed to the peak of the highest mountain and sought out the wisdom of the eldest most wise.
As you fall to you’re knees exhausted in the snow. He motions for you to approach.
The wind howls around you freezing your ears, you focus through the pain and strain your hearing to make out the words the old wiseone whispers to you

”Short answer... balanced build with slight push in stamina.
Shorter answer...don’t build a goalie.”

Honestly, as a new user, I don't think the most important stat is one that you can put TPE into. I think that it's their charisma stat, if you will, or how willing they are to be a contributing member of the community. In my mind, that trumps all player builds, especially early in careers when you can only do so much anyway. But if I had to give them a build stat, I'd probably say puckhandling. It's a base requirement of hockey players.

Stamina baby. You can't be effective on the ice if you're too tired to do anything. All of your skills diminish when you're fatigued so get that stamina up so you don't sabotage all the hard work you're putting in off the ice. Get on the treadmill and make sure you can roll every 3rd shift and be able to perform the way you're supposed to.

Giving advice on player attributes in general for the simulation hockey league, I would say there is no clear winner about which one is the best as there is no proof showing if you have one stat maxed to 20 you will be successful. Every attribute is as important as the one before or after it, because each attribute makes a player whole so you need to have a somewhat balanced player in terms of having a list of base stats at least up to 13 if not 15 at the major leagues level in the SHL. Especially since there are some many different player roles that work well with others to get chemistry working on a line you really need to ask yourself first what type of player do you want to be and how will you fit into the current line up for your SHL team and how will it impact the long term future of your SHL team’s line up into the future with other up and coming prospects.

However, to provide this user some more specific advice on what attributes to look at I would advise working on all physical stats since your player's physique likely plays a major part in their entire game in all situations with in the game whether they be on special teams, offense or defense, up a goal defending a lead or down needing to tie it up late in the game. The only physical stat I would stay away from upgrading is fighting as it really will not help your on ice performance and if you are a high tpe player it can actually hurt your team by fighting since you will need to spend five minutes in the penalty box as a result. Never the less, the rest of the physical stats except fighting are really important in my opinion. In addition, I would advise against putting physical stats all the way up to 20 and maximize each and every one of them. Instead I would suggest getting all of the physical stats (Acceleration, Agility, Balance, Speed, Stamina, and Strength) to 17 so it will be the majority of your tpe going into this part of your build over time.

After that the rest of the advice is up to what type of player role you want to take on. As a defenseman you probably want to get checking and defensive read up to 20. If you are a sniper you will probably want to get your getting open and shooting accuracy to 20. If you are a playmaker you will probably want to get your puck handling and passing to 20. This really goes to show how having success in the SHL with the FHM sim engine really matters on having your player fit a specific player role. While I have spent all of this written point task up to now focusing on forwards I wanted to simply note as I conclude that in no way am I an FHM expert and am continuously asking for advice on my player build from other members across the league as I am only beginning to learn the intricacies of building a player. Unfortunately, if I am being asked to give advice on goalies then you are out of luck as I have no clue how to build them and am totally lost when it comes to goaltending. I hope this helps!

Its kinda tough for you to pin down one stat that is the best to put hella points into, but if I had to tell someone to dump points into it would be stamina because you can't play very well if you are tired the whole game.

If you had to pick one stat that you absolutely need to improve it has to be aggression. Listen this is a physical game and we need mean son of bitches out there so the more aggression the more wins just trust me.

For goalies, the most important attribute appears to be positioning. FHM6 rewards it well, and it sppears a goalie with a good positioning score has a strong foundation in the sim.

In my own opinion I think all stats are equally as important. I think its all relative on the role you choose for your player which will dictate the important attributes to upgrade most in. Give you some examples, if you were to be an offensive passing player, then i would say to allocate more TPE into puck handling and passing. If you were to be an offensive sniper, then getting open and shooting accuracy come to be important. One more just to make sure we understand each other, if your player role were to be an SHL enforcer, well then strength and fighting would have to be the leading attributes in this regard.

So as you can see it varies from role to role but one thing is for sure, stamina will be key in almost all roles. Better stamina equals to more ice time which in turn equals to more oppurtunities to excel at what you do best on the ice.

I would tell them it's fighting. 99% of them would not take me seriously, but for the 1% that does, it would be pretty hilarious to see them dump a ton of points into fighting.

I think the most important stat is clearly hitting. Zakkira Diporov had over 200 plus hits last season.... It is fun when you hit people in hockey!

What I learned from my few seasons is that it is very important to follow the stats that are very important that are associated with your build. But if I had to pick one to focus on it would be Stamina because if you get tired too quickly you won't get very far on the ice.

the most important stat in the game is hitting. the more you hit, the higher your fantasy score, the more users pick you in the next season. the more users that know you, the higher your chances are of getting inducted into the HOF

Because I am a goalie I'm going to tell them that the top attribute is Positioning. You do need a well balanced build but positioning should be at the top of the list in terms of what you apply your TPE into.
