S58 PT #2 Payday!

When I was in Colorado, I used to spend a lot of money and time on dinosaur stuff : merch, fossils, trips to national parks where fossils are dug up and dinosaur tracks can still be seen, that kind of thing. This is harder to do while in Chicago. While I still plan a yearly trip somewhere around the world to see more about the glorious dinosaurs, I need something to cheer me up after a loss.

My good friend and team Gunnar Soderberg found a solution : turtles. Turtles are very similar to dinosaurs on many levels, so I have built a turtle tank in my house. So far I have 7, and they are all named after some great players and friends : Cassius, Sven, Ruggs, Gunnar, Ryuuji, Mat and Raiden. Raiden is the largest, one could say it's a jumbo-sized turtle, and Sven is the smallest, but I love them all the same and I'd kill anyone who tries to harm them.

This season Scotch is saving his paychecks to get into real estate.  Last season he got into the stock market and is making decent money off of that and hockey as well.  He would love to start off by buying franchise rights to a couple of fast food restaurants and then once he starts making even more money on top of that he'd own plazas and commercial lots and collect rent on the stores residing there.  For his own personal use Scotch just did buy a house in Kelowna since he was traded this season.  He got a nice 2 bedroom 1 bath house with plenty of yard space for his pets!  Scotch is also generous with his money and always finds a way to give back to communities by donating a portion of his check every week to a charity organization so he can help people, children, and animals in need.

Esa Parmborg is on a hometown discount for Calgary, but 4M can go a long way. I'm currently using the money to add more space to my organic chicken farm that supplies delicious chicken meat to make chicken parms in my House of Parm restaurants in downtown Calgary. I've recently built two new chicken barns and cleared 2 acres of free range area for the birds to run around. It's expensive to protect these delicious looking little bastards from predators so the cost is high when you have to build a 2 acre roof and surround the entire area with chicken wire so they don't get eaten. I've also hired the worlds best chicken tenders to watch over the flock and pay them an annual salary as well as health insurance and all you can eat parms while working. It adds up quickly. I bought a couple new tractors for the farm also which we needed and of course I give back to the community and make donations. I spend some money on myself also, bought a new car, new fishing boat and hired the Calgary Ice Girls to do at home deep tissue massages for me 2-5 times a week.

Anton will put his contract moneys to keep training as high as possible and he also bought very professional personal coaching starting to this season. He will also give 20% of his yearly salary to the homeless animals charity every offseason, including this one. It's very easy decision and only sky is the limit, when helping cute animals.

Anton have already decent amount at his bank, so he put few millions to casino and he also bought personal massager to him. She will take care of his muscle healthy when he have a long season, 66 regular games plus playoffs and of course represent DACH at WJC. Rest of moneys he will save or maybe invest some good stocks at future, only god knows. Maybe he will subscribe some Only Fans account for fun and to support those poor womens. He will also look new apartment at Buffalo when he will call up to the SHL at future.

This season I have big goals. I'm really planning on improving by massive amounts. Thankfully there are some legendary coaches and players that offer help in training players during the offseason and into the season. I met up with an absolute legend for this season. Teddy Cuddles, this fella got me doing full on sprints all over the ice. Slamming pucks into the net from every angle, any distance, all while going full speed. He wanted me to use full strength and to just absolutely smash that shit in there. He finally set up soda cans hanging by some string through the net. My job was to obliterate the cans with the puck. I was set up from 10 different spots, with 10 different cans to hit. Didn't matter which can I was to aim for from the spot I was at. I only had 10 tries though.  At the start of the week, I went 6/10. Had some really bad fumbles, and I just couldn't connect some of them. By the end of the week. I crushed 10/10. Sliced through those cans with ease. I'd say that was some money well spent, hopefully this training will apply into the season.

Corey Kennedy has been in the Simulation Hockey League for about 10 seasons now, so he is able to live a bit more comfortably. Every off season, he gets his paycheck and it allows him to do good for the world. He spends part of it on a charity close to his home on Lake Michigan, it's the same one him and his teammates volunteer at, mostly just Gunnar. It's a shelter for animals, Kennedy is a known supporter of shelters and has 2 dogs of his own. Though, one of them is a purebred Irish Wolfhound, the other is a shelter dog he got while in his second season in Chicago. The rest of his money goes into savings, stocks, and any improvements he wants to make or any travel he has. Every year he flies his family in from Ireland to come stay with him. He has a lovely house right on the Lake with plenty of room, so there is no worries there. At this point in Kennedy's career he plays hockey not for the paycheck, but it's nice to get paid. Eventually he will probably use the money he has acquired to go back an settle out west in Ireland and live out a peaceful existence, teaching young Irish players the game.

Aside from immediately purchasing new and unnecessary equipment, Minamino has been slowly saving up for a big loan repayment of sorts back to his parents. While he didn’t directly borrow money from them, he’s recognized the efforts of his parents in getting him to where he is in this point, from general expenses in raising a child, putting them through the various extracurriculars and all the time in ensuring that they would be prepared to be successful in whatever he decided to do. So in paying them back through paying off any mortgages, car loans and other debt that might be weighing on them, Minamino hopes that his parents will be able to enjoy themselves through traveling or just being able to spend time on themselves without having to continue to worry about others like they have all their life.

Also for when he starts a family, it would make sense to get into their good graces so that he’d be able to get some grandparent childcare. It might be cheaper to hire somebody but there’s nothing quite like having that familial bond.

After this years draft and being selected by Toronto as their only pick this draft they had a lot of free cap and so I ended up with a very generous $6 million contract so the world is my oyster for what I would like to buy. I'm not much of a crazy spender but I decided to reward myself with buying pretty much my dream house which is just a small building but the entire bottom of the house is a garage and their is an upstairs loft to sleep and hangout in and was able to afford a few cars to go with it as well. Of course though being the good kid I am I decided to pay back my parents because without them and their dedication to getting me to start when I was a kid I wouldn't be here so of course I had to pay off their house, surprised them with any car they wanted and made sure any debt they were in was paid off so they were able to retire right away.

I hate to say it but most of the money I earned from my most recent contract deposit went straight back to training. Coach Fuzz said I was too slow and skated like a deer, so I had to hire a professional power skating trainer to help out my speed and edge work. So far this season I have noticed a significant difference in my performance. it feels like it was a good investment to make for my career. Since the team just offered me 4 million to stick around for another couple of seasons. I did have some money lying around from last season so I decided to gamble 3 million of it on SHL games. I'm not sure if it's technically legal to be betting on the same sport that I play in, but who cares. What is the worst that could possibly happen with gambling. As long as the stampede stop winning games I won't be broke by next season.

Daniil is finally settling into Baltimore. He has recently bought a new home in Ellicott City, a suburb of Baltimore. So most of his spending is going toward decking out his new home. After decking out a his bedroom with a king size memory foam mattress and big tv, his next goal has been to deck out his brand new kitchen. His first purchase was a Meneghini La Cambusa Refrigerator, which came out to a staggering $40,000. But his modular fridge will enable him to have everything he loves to cook and eat at his disposal. Outside of hockey, Daniil loves to cook. So being able to cook for teammates is a huge thing for him. A large fridge like the Meneghini La Cambusa will allow him to store enough for the big eaters on Baltimore when they come over. His second purchase for his kitchen was a La Cornue stovetop and range. If you're going to splurge, you should always do it on your hobbies!

Every single cent I earn from my playing career goes into my personal training. While my billionaire adoptive father trained me from youth, it's up to me to pay for it now. I gotta tell you, it's difficult. I don't get a whole lot of money to go towards personal things. I have to dip into the Swiss bank account for purchases like that. My hard earned money goes straight into the best personal trainers I can ask for. People who follow me around and watch what I eat, how I walk. They make sure my body is in tip top shape for the upcoming seasons. I'm starting to hit that age where it can be difficult to keep up the pace, so I'm going to need to be extra careful, and pay even more attention (and money) to these highly sought after professionals who hang out at the Y.

When you have a face that's made of gold people think you're made of money, sadly that's not the case. The money that Los Angeles paid me is going to go invested into myself. I need to start investing in myself like the top level athletes do. First thing I'm going to is hire some of the best trainers available so that I may maximize my training and get the most out of my potential. Next on the list is a personal Chef that will get my body in the best shape that its ever been. If I'm training to get to my peak performance but I'm not treating my body right then I'm limiting myself. Anything extra after all that will be tighly budgeted. I know from experience that there isn't a guarentee more will come and I can risk going without for the future. I'll probably put it in something safe like Gamestop Calls or Blackberry Calls.
