Petrov Stat Breakdown, Majors and Minors
#1

While we all know that there are a multitude of Petrovs scattered throughout the league, we will not be talking about all of them today. While I do love to stroke my Petrov ego Because Petrov is Bestov, but instead I will just give a quick breakdown of the two Petrov brothers who have made it to the big leagues in the SHL and afterwards we will talk about what our brothers are doing in the Minors.

First and foremost, we have the best Petrov known to mankind, Vladmir Petrov, who, for this moment, plays for the Tampa Bay Barracuda (808 TPE). The Great Left Winger from Russia has, in my opinion, had a great rookie season. He has compiled 4 goals and 14 assists in the first 31 games of the season. He also has a +/- of +5 with only 6 Penalty Minutes. He has 58 Shots on Goal, which means is shooting percentage is 6.9%. On top of that, he has 41 hits with 7 takeaways and 3 shots blocked. The one downside so far to Vladmir’s game is that he has 23 giveaways. You can see while he is on the ice, he is still such a great athlete but the speed of the game from the Minors to the Majors is quite a large leap. Vladmir has been able to keep up, but he still does make some boneheaded plays which leads to the giveaways.

@panda
Secondly, the Other Petrov that was called up, is Teylora Petrov, Left Defense for the New England Wolfpack (832 TPE). He has played quite well for a Defensive Minded Defender. He has 2 goals and 6 assists so far throughout 31 games. His downside though has been his +/- where he sits at a -11. Not a great look for a defensive defenseman. He also has only 6 penalty minutes, to go along with 1 powerplay assist, and one short handed goal. He has 40 shots on target, which equates to a 5.00% shooting percentage. He has 58 hits, with 11 giveaways and only 6 takeaways, as well as 17 shots blocked. You can tell right from there that Teylora Petrov has been quite a defensive minded player, outside of his horrendous +/-.

When you look at both players, you can see that both Petrovs are going to be relevant for a long time on stats alone. Both have done their due diligence for their respective teams and will continue to hopefully be some greatness for years to come. You have to start slow to build up. Next, we are going to go through what the Minors Brothers have done thus far with their seasons. Vladmir has the start to someone that is going to be a scoring machine in the league for years to come, and Teylora has the start of someone who is always going to put his body on the line to make sure that he does his best to keep the puck out of the net.

This is where a bulk of the media is going to come from, I was able to get about 500 words about to Petrov brothers, but now I am going to have to talk about the great other brothers still in the minors that are on teams, such as Rikki Petrov, Igor Petrov, Slava Petrov, Boris Petrov, Mikhael Petrov and Evgeni Petrov. We will start with the loner of the bunch, Evgeni, who had to take shots from all of us growing up, so if anything, we kind of made him the goalie that he is today.

@RenoJacksonHS
Evgeni Petrov, Goalie for the Newfoundland Berserkers (239 TPE), has had quite the monster year thus far. He has appeared in 10 games so far for the Newfoundland Berserkers and has an outstanding record of 8-1-1 with allowing 19 goals in 197 shots. He has a wonderful 1.88 GAA with 3 shutouts, and a 0.904 Save Percentage. That is about all you can do for stats for goalies from this index, so I will go out on a limb and say he is played phenomenally for the Berserkers. Evgeni Petrov took all the training he has gotten from his brother throughout the years, who used to force him into net and just shoot pucks at him and has turned it into a truly great skill. Good job Evgeni, we are proud of you.

@AW13
The Next, and technically first Petrov on the list, is going to be Rikki Petrov, Center for the Vancouver Whalers has 587 TPE at the time of this media writing (I am going off of their player page, so this is before updates for this week). He has played in 30 games so far for the Whalers and has 1 goal and 12 assists. His +/- sits at a -2 with 2 penalty minutes. He has 5 powerplay assists which is the most out of all Petrovs in the SHL and the Juniors. On top of that, Rikki’s Shooting has never been in strong suit, which goes hand in hand with his 1.85 Shooting %. He has 18 hits and 12 giveaways, but 10 takeaways. He also has 13 shot blocks. Rikki is a defensive minded center, or attempts to be, and loves to set up his teammates. Rikki will add value to whichever team ends up picking him up after this season, as he is only signed to a one-year contract with the Monarchs. (At the time of this media I am writing, I am not 100% sure if that is where he signed and was too lazy to go look it up. So hopefully my brain has not failed me.)

@TheCC

After Rikki Petrov, comes Igor Petrov, Center for the Quebec City Citadelles (452 TPE). Outside of Igor losing to Slava and Vladmir last season in the Playoffs, he has had quite a season this year so far. Firstly, he plays out of position at Left Wing, so he is quite versatile. He has 11 goals and 11 Assists which leads all Petrovs in points in both the Juniors and the Majors. He also has a +/- of +16, which is tied for the lead in both leagues. He has 1 Power Playgoal and two assists on the power play. He is the best shooter of them all as well, with a staggering 12.79%. He has 13 hits, but his downfall has been giveaways at 24, which is the most of any Petrov. He also has the fewest Takeaways with only 3. He also has 6 shots blocked. Igor has been underrated thus far in his career, as seen by his all-star snub last season as well. Igor will keep it up and continue to prove the haters wrong, while he has been great on the ice, his agent, @TheCC just straight up sucks though. You suck TheCC.

@ckroyal92
Next Petrov is Slava Petrov, Right Winger for the Anchorage Armada (687 TPE). Self-Proclaimed Bestrov, which we all know is just not true. While has had quite the poor performance compared to previous years, Slava only has 5 goals with 6 assists this time around. He also, for being the smallest Petrov, have a staggering amount of penalty minutes, sitting at a staggering 24. He does have one power play goal though, to go along with his 9.26 shooting %. On top of that, he does have 25 hits, to go with his 17 takeaways and by far the most shots blocked with 46 in the minors. He has the most shots blocked out of all Petrovs as well. He went from being speedy mcspeederston to shot blocker mcgee. Slava should no longer name himself Bestrov, but Blocktrov.

@LimJahey

The Next lovely Petrov we have here is Boris Petrov, Right Defenseman from the Quebec City Citadelles (464 TPE). While Boris has not really added much to the offensive load, he has 1 goal and 9 assists through 30 contests thus far. His +/- is -3 and he has an astonishing 71 penalty minutes. He has the second worst shot % at 2.56. He has 7 fights and 4 won so far as well, with 155 hits. This man is a monster. On top of that, he only has 15 giveaways to 18 takeaways and 15 shots blocked. Boris has been crazy. Boris of course has been collecting teeth for his teeth collection, and clearly collecting blood to place in vials throughout his home. Why else does he just destroy anyone he runs into. It’s crazy and downright scary if you think about it.

@to12143

The Last Petrov we will discuss that is still in the leagues, is Mikhael Petrov, Left Defenseman for the Kelowna Knights (357 TPE). Mikhael has gone and stopped working out and will probably not make it out of the minors. Well, not probably, he won’t. Either which way, he has 5 goals and 9 assists. He is tied for the best +/- at +16. He has also only played in 21 games for the Kelowna Knights. He has a 10.64 shooting % which is one of the better ones of the Petrovs. He has 14 hits, with 15 Giveaways and 8 takeaways and only 16 shots blocked. Mikhael has disappointed us all in going inactive, but there isn’t much else we can really do about that situation.

All in all, while I fucking hate to say it, @TheCC and Igor Petrov are the Bestrov right now in the minors, and quite possibly, the best Petrov Statwise overall. I fucking hate saying that so much, but it is true. So right now, after breaking everyone down, Igor is the best Petrov. Ugh. Why did I write this media? Either which way, I can not wait to see every player in the majors and cant wait to continue to compare and contrast every Petrov throughout the years to see who keeps up with it, who else goes inactive, and who becomes the greatest Petrov of all time. I still will always put my bets on myself, and I do believe that Vladmir, in the end, will be the Greatest Petrov of all time, but then again it is kind of hard to debate between wingers and defensemen, and goalies. So I guess maybe later down the road I can have a best Winger, Best Defenseman, and well, best goalie will go to Evgeni until someone else creates one.
