The Carolina season was not an easy one. We started mediocre, continued to be mediocre and ended up getting eliminated in the first round of the playoffs after losing game six. It is not like we did not start to have some hope after going 2-2 shortly after starting out 2-0 but the hopes were crushed pretty quickly. We finished the season in the fourth place of the east with 26 wins versus 39 losses and one overtime loss, so in general it could have been a much better season, but there is hope for next season since we will have some players that are not first year rookies any more and some who go into their third season and can uncap a bit of TPE.

On a personal note I do not think Finn von Murphenstein performed very well. He played most of the season on the first line and was seriously outplayed in nearly every game. Even though finishing with a 97 PDO I felt like he could have done more. We are certainly not talking about the horrid -25 plusminus. Let us just ignore that part and focus on the better things like scoring 24 points, which is generally a bit less than I would have expected, but still in the realm where it counts for something. Biggest problems seem to be his shooting percentage hovering around 8 percent as well as 66 giveaways versus only 29 takeaways which can only be described with one word: bad. Or maybe a bit more: Oh my god, this is horrible. At least compared to last season he was able to rake in a lot more hits with over 100 and a generally not that bad of a game rating with 62.

All in all generally there was some improvement from last season so I can not be that unhappy with the performance but I would have like to see a lot more than this and hopefully being able to unbank 75 TPE I can do a lot more next season than what I have achieved with my player in this. And maybe even get Carolina deeper into the playoffs this time around.

The season that the SHL has recently concluded was the first time that Alexis Vermette had played in the league and it would be safe to say that he has a lot of room to improve!

The young New England Wolfpack forward was not the most exciting player on the ice but I am happy that he did not embarrass himself too much and I think he was able to help his team do better than some people had thought that they might do!

I became an SHL player a season earlier than some people might have thought that I should have but I am grateful that the Wolfpack allowed me to have the chance to do this!

I hope that Alexis will be a better player next season and that he has learned the lessons that he needs to this season to try to help the team win more games and be more successful in the next season!

I will say, I expected so many different things for Vladmir Petrov, but then again, I can not even be mad at where he began and how he ended up in his first full rookie season called up in the SHL and no longer in the minors. While I wanted him to compete and potentially win Rookie of the Year, which to be honest, at this point in time I doubt is going to happen, especially since I didn’t really pay attention to other rookies this year, it was pretty grerat to see what he was really going to do. Vladmir Petrov was able to put up 28 assists and 9 goals in 66 games. I really wanted, no, I expected to be able to score more while not assisting as much, but I can not say that I am fully disappointed. And for someone who hasn’t really been physical in the minors, I came along with 88 hits this season was pretty remarkable in my mind.

Daniel was known for his electrifying speed and dynamic offensive abilities prior to his junior days. Getting drafted by Kelowna seventh overall with very high expectations. Playing on a stacked team his minutes were limited and thus has mediocre seasons. By the time he worked his way up the lineup and get some quality playing time, his time in the "J"was all but done. The Edmonton Blizzard who had drafted Laforest ninth overall in the S54 draft had an opening in the lineup and promoted the young center. On the cusp of exploding offensively in the juniors was now only a thought.

His rookie season Daniel was given ample opportunity to succeed, playing on the top line with no specialty teams. Finished third in rookie scoring with a total of 32 points ( only 3 goals) and +29 rating in an era where a season had 50 games total. His sophomore season had him play a little lesser role pivoting the third line and managed 32 points again (7 goals) but with a -5 rating in 66 games played. Now in his third season, still playing third line minutes but also playing some PK time too. Not the greatest but a constant progression in all stats seeing him pick up 34 points (11 goals) and a much more physical side to his game.

All in all I can say there has been a very good progression offensively and the strength, balance and confidence is coming into its own!

The rookie season for Nicolae Antonescu, as well as the seasin for the S58 San Francisco Pride, went much better than initially expected. San Francisco was a popular pick for the dumpster award this season, and while they weren't far off in a standings sense, finishing second-last in points, they were far from the bottom, a full 20 points ahead of the collapsed NOLA Specters with a more than respectable 46 points. Due to divisional shenanigans, the Pride made the playoffs with this total, and took a top 3 team in the league in Toronto to 7 games in the 1st round in an exciting series. The Pride broke 20 wins, far above their 13.5 casino projection, and a lot of great rookies had very impactful seasons. Antonescu had a stellar SHL debut in my books, outperforming the aging Geezus Kryyst with a 18-19-5 record for the Pride, as well as being 3rd in SV% amongst starting goaltenders in the entire SHL, behind only Elizabeth Doyle and Frans Eller. Antonescu also scored 2nd on the famous FHN GoalieScore ratings for S58, and with all of this being done as a rookie, it has made me extremely excited about my future as a player and the future of the San Francisco Pride

This was Jonas' rookie season and so I was not at all sure what exactly to expect. When Jonas was a rookie in the SMJHL he was sheltered on a powerhouse Newfoundland team and he was able to thrive extremely well, nominated for the rookie of the year award. On this up and coming LAP team, he was not as lucky to be put in a situation where he was on a dominant team, but he was still able to be somewhat sheltered on the 3rd pairing and put up some decent numbers. He scored 8 goals and had 14 assists for 22 points. It was an interesting start as he did not put up any points for the first 8 games as he was playing a stay at home dman role as not all his offensive skills were there, but once he improved his passing and stickhandling, the points started to come. went on a good hot streak for about 10 games, but cooled right off near the end of the season. Jonas will eventually become a very offensive player so hopefully as his build progresses next season we will be able to start seeing more of that, but it's still early.

This season was another up and down season for Ole Olson. Being the veteran on the second line paired with a younger, scrappier player gave Olson a chance to lay some additional hits. Lombardo handled the punching while Olson took the body. Olson's offensive stats took a bit of a hit, taking on the primary "offensive" defenseman role for his line despite being more of a bruiser/defensive defenseman fight. He did improve on his points slightly and +/-, but his Shot Percentage was a a fair bit lower. His defensive stats stayed roughly the same as well, giving the puck up a bit more, but also increasing his takeaways a bit. His biggest improvement since his previous season was in the Hits category; notching an extra forty-five hits to come in top five on the season. Olson is excited to keep improving and hopefully improve his offensive stats a bit next season.

did i do good this year? no!! did i do bad this year? no!! was i better than koopa? kinda! I tried my best ok i scored about the same amount of points as the last one and kep winning and fighting to be the best hockey player. despite my offensive build and the fact i had the most shots on the team i still came up short on what mattered most; i tried so hard to be a star but in the end i was stuck in the shadow of alex sant michel; ASM was dominant and seemed to score when it matters; Zile also scored alot despite his more defensive build. In the end for no reason at all boyle struggled to really shine this year despite being a capped player and a offensively build dude; who knows what the future hold playoff wise; but i hop eto really make a bigger impact in the series

This season has been one of the best of my SHL career. Personally, I took a small step back. My age is starting to catch up with me and the youth of Baltimore is picking up all the slack. I just missed my career high of 40 points but finally broke the double digit mark in goals this year. I was still a defensive monster but I wasn't blocking the same volume of shots that I usually do. All that personal stuff doesn't really matter since the Platoon made the playoffs! We went from last in the conference at one point to going on an absolute tear and jumping New England and Tampa to jump into the post season. Just making it was great but to take a game against a great Edmonton team was a cherry on top. In the Platoon locker room we have known that our time was coming soon but to have the whole league finally understanding that we are going to do damage soon legitimizes us. Everyone has put in so much work and to have it finally pay off made this a season to remember.

That was my last season in SMJHL. My team Quebec City Citadelles placed second in whole league and another stressful playoffs are ahead of us. My regular season was a bit worst than S57 but I am still very happy with my achievements. For second season in a row I managed to be the best in whole league in faceoff percentage. With 63.4 win percentage I had beaten second placed player (Josh Dolphin) by almost 4%. Another best in whole league (tied with teammate Zdenko Beranek) for me was in number of assists. Beranek and I both have 40 each leaving second player (another teammate Mikael Koskinen) by 3 assists. I also added 13 goals (with decent 11.82 shooting percentage), cherry on the cake was one shorthanded goal, so I had 53 points in total - tied 8th in whole league. My +/- was +22 which was quite far behind best players in league. My overall game rating was 65. So I am very happy with my regular season, I am only disappointed that I wasn't called to all stars game, I guess there are four better C players in this league.

Vorian Atreides doesn't cease to dissapoint. Not his team though, as his management is happy about him, but mostly his self. He wants to be a point per game player and believes that he should be with the amount of TPE he has, but no can do, this season did see an increase in production, but he was still 11 points (or 20%) short of this feat. With 18 goals and 37 assists the playmaker ended on 55 points total.

A good increase this year came on the powerplay as he only scored 3 powerplay points last year, compared to the 15 points he has now.

Perhaps his decrease in icetime made him last tired for contributing on the important plays. His offensive game rating of 70 was higher as his defensive game rating this year as that was only a 61. Vorian Atreides hopes to continue this trend and become a bigger pawn in the plans of the Panthers.

There's always next season.
