Anchorage Armada defenceman Jay Sink has found himself in the headlines again, this time after reportedly partying a little too wildly following Anchorage's 3-1 victory over the Detroit Falcons in Game 3 of their SMJHL playoff series on Saturday night. The rookie sensation was involved in an issue with a member of the team's coaching staff prior to the start of the regular season, but appeared to have calmed down and has quietly been one of the Armada's most solid performers this season.

The S58 SMJHL first round pick and his entourage were pictured in several bars and clubs in the area from late Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday morning. Other patrons reportedly grew tired of his antics, with sources telling us that Sink's party spent much of the night chanting "BACK TO BACK" and "FIRST OVERALL PICK" as well as other pro-Armada and pro-Sink messages. One bar manager told us that he had to ask the group to leave following complaints from others in the bar "who just wanted to enjoy their night".

The most-commented on aspect of the story, though, is a post made on social media by a female fan. Presented with no caption besides an emoji of a dabbing gnome, a fan posted a selfie early on Sunday afternoon that pictures herself sat up in a hotel bed with a man who looks very much like Jay Sink asleep besides her. The fan is wearing an oversized shirt we assume belongs to Sink, emblazoned with the text "Fuck Daud Ramza". The post has been shared and commented on thousands of times, with responses ranging from vapid praise of Jay Sink to criticism of the player and his lack of maturity. A small subset of Armada fans have gone as far as to suggest that the woman who posted the selfie is engaged in a conspiracy of some kind, designed to tarnish Sink's image in an attempt to further the interests of another player or team - perhaps a fellow prospect in the upcoming S59 SHL entry draft.

Asked whether or not he was setting a good example to younger fans and if his behaviour might be a distraction for his teammates, Jay Sink grinned and responded "You know, American girls love British accents".

The Anchorage Armada press officer was contacted prior to the publication of this article, but simply stated that they were aware of the image circulating which appeared to show Sink and another individual. They declined to comment further on the matter.
