A rookie Michael Phelps card would be a monster card. One of the greatest players of the modern STHS era, his rookie season seems like it was 60 years ago. That card would kill.

I think regardless of skill level, the most popular cards will largely gravitate towards more popular players, whether they're GOAT's or meme players. I think some of the popular GOAT cards might be guys like Jason Visser, Tony Pepperoni, Esa Anrikkanen, Alonzo Garbanzo, whereas some of the popular meme cards could be folks like Cleo Green, Pingy Pingu, etc.

Is Charizard the best pokemon in pokemon? No, I don't believe so, I would say MewTwo or Dragonite is the best pokemon (Jonny Tsunami only remembers first gen). With that being said, Charizard is one of the most badass looking pokemon, so the best player won't normally mean having the most valuable card, Jonny Tsunami in the pacific ocean riding a wave, holding a hockey stick, at the end of his surfboard doing a hockey celebration would be the rarest and most valuable card that the SHL drops, if it is ever designed.

The most valuable trading card out of at least this recent crop of players is definitely going to be that of KEKW Kekkonen. As a walking meme, his cards are sure to be the target of a massive destruction campaign by everyone tired of the KEKW meme, meaning those that survive the purge will be massively inflated in value. Too bad, Kekkonen is a fine player all in all.

I have never been into collecting trading cards or Pokemon cards for that matter. However, I do know that older rare cards are becoming increasingly more valuable and sell for quite a bit of money. In a few years I expect SHL cards to be very valuable. I suspect top point getters for each franchise to be in the top percent in terms of value.

Rare cards tend to be the product of a mistake, whether it's a misprint of a word or a mistake in colors. This is why I think the original A Jobin rookie cards will be worth a ton. Not only am I easily the best goalie there ever was, but those cards have the picture taken when my goalie pants ripped and righty found his way out.

I have in my possession (you can't see it don't even ask) a first edition Cal Covid trading card. Now known as "name redacted" I am lucky enough to have randomly pulled one of these from a pack. Some say it doesn't exist and that its all a hoax, I almost stopped breathing when I saw it. Some may call it tasteless, but it honestly takes my breath way.

I'm going to flip this around a little and present to you this idea: whose cards will be the most fun to collect because they will have been on so many different teams in the SHL. Kind of like the Mike Sillinger of the SHL.
Now I'm not very well versed in my SHL history, but I am sure there are some great stories about players who have played for a good number of SHL teams. I know my own Fred Wanesly has already been on two teams and who knows what will happen in the future! Get that rare Fred Wanesly Tampa Bay Barracudas (old logo) card to go with your more common Fred Wanesly Seattle Argonauts card.

OOO SHL trading cards!!! YES!! As a big time card collector from magic the gathering to sports I love this. I was someone who helped start DOTTS over in the ISFL so I cant wait to see this here. I think the rarest card is going to be the Tres Sombreros post fight pic short print. I have included a copy of it below.

Another pretty easy mPT or the week considering you brought up the Charizard, it only makes sense that it will be the one and only Mew Two who has the super rare, best card.

I think an Alternate Captain Yngve Simonssen (@JumpierPegasus) Rookie of the Year Nomination card is going to be super rare. All the different variations will be more common, but one that has all the attributes on one card could be super rare

What would be the most rare SHL card in the first edition? Honestly it could be a tossup between and outright legend of the SHL, or a grinder that was only ever used to fill the roster out, but never get ice time. Or a mixture of both, like the Seattle Riot's Pablo Biznette.

Back in my day, a Karl Krashwagen rookie card wasn't worth warts to a witch, but since S58 and Krashwagen's aWagening, the Baltimore Platoon rookie card is now worth more than nudes to a "dude".

A great find would be to have a Mikhail Lokitonov rookie card from the STHS days. This would be a rare and hard to find gem of a future hall of famer. A coveted piece to the most ardent of collectors.

For me the best card to have would be a Strawberry Starfish card. Every single Strawberry starfish card is a novelty because you know he won't be around for too long. Its a built in special edition. Plus the render is gonna look ridiculous. Def has ton of collector value.
