Now that the rookie season for the S60 class is nearing its end, we have to look at how the draft class turned out for the team with the most draft picks to my knowledge, the Anaheim Outlaws, which had a whopping 4 picks inside of the Top 25, tied with the Quebec City Citadelles for the most in that 25 pick span. Let's look how all of these picks turned out for them.
Round 1; Pick 1: Stan Din'desque The consensus #1 pick going into the draft by everyone except me, see the SMJHL Mock Draft PT where I only had a total of 0 pick correct, I think I was the only one to do that. Moving on to the regular season, he did not quite perform up to what most people expected him to be. He only had 6 goals and 5 assists, good for only 11 points, which is good for the second lowest points on the team, tied with Tomas Kalnoky, who didn’t even play for a full season. Despite this sub par play for a #1 overall pick, the TPE gains are not lacking, as he has 305 TPE, good enough for 6th in the Season 60 Regression Class, not bad especially for someone who recreated later than the trade deadline, but the catch-up TPE helps there. Great pick for the Outlaws here at 1OA. Round 2; Pick 15: High Haschdi Moving onto the Outlaw’s second pick we have Haschdi, an ISFL veteran as well as GM over there. Looking at TPE first, this was a steal of a pick as he is only 1 TPE behind the leaders for the class, with 313 TPE, which is insane for being drafted in the 2nd round, so again good job to the Outlaws management. Onto the actual hockey side of things, Haschdi has the 2nd highest +/- on the team with +13, which is combined with 23 assists, good enough for 4th on the team, not bad for a 2nd rounder. Round 2; Pick 22: Daniel Merica Jr. The 2nd pick of the 2nd for the Outlaws, they get another active player here, and I believe recreate with Merica Jr who is right in the middle of the S60 class, with 282 TPE so far, another good pick for the Outlaws, so let's see how this has translated onto the ice. AT first look it seems they are like Din’desque with the limited success, as MErica Jr. has only 15 points, the 4th worst on the team, which is paired with a -8 +/-, so another case of high TPE but low performance, this will be fixed next season when they are capped out on TPE. Round 2; Pick 24: Zhen Roza The last of the 4 picks in the first 25 picks for the team is a Goalie, and one of the better ones in the S60 class too with 281 TPE, an amazing feat for the Outlaws to draft 4 players in 1 draft to all reach 280 before the SHL draft. Moving onto the Ice play, Roza played 24 games and won 112 games, not the worst goalie out there. The Outlaws killed the first 2 rounds of this draft, but none of them had great sim performance except for High Hachdi, expect them to all perform up to their TPE next season. 566 words @BenDover GRADED! +5 TPE |
