Philadelphia Froge continue to make history, fresh off the exciting expansion draft and making their first official signings continued to have a busy week. The team was still in full swing as the team would continue into their first SHL draft. Philly would have the 5th overall selection to make their first pick in franchise history. With such a young team, who would it be the mock drafts seemed to be all over the place as there were few leaks to determine who would be going at what time. The Draft also seemed to be pretty deep and lots of potential options out there. When it came down to it the first ever pick in Forge history would be (drum roll please) Evil Allbran. Philly would then go on to select Ryan Gardner with the 25th overall pick in the second round and Ric Charlesworth 45th overall in the third round. So let's take a closer look as the first ever Forge prospects.

Evil Allbran: Is a Right Wing Currently on Newfoundland Berserkers. In his rookie season he contributed 12 goals 7 assists for 19 points, he was +19 in plus minus and averaged 10:10 min of ice time a game. He also owned a 13.2% shooting percentage. Allbran is a solid 230 LBS at his 6.0 Ft frame and is one of the top prospects out of USA. Allbran is looking like he could be a potential franchise type player. He could easily step into the young Philly team in the next couple seasons and be able to make an instant impact for the team. He is one of the most pure goal scorers from this draft and will one of the leaders in Newfoundland the next couple of seasons.

Ryan Gardner: Is a left handed defenseman currently with Quebec City Citadelles. He is a massive frame at 6 foot 4 inches and 251 LBS. He helped Quebec tallying 6 goals 10 assists for 16 points in 66 games his rookie season. He Owned a -11 plus minus rating and a staggering 51 penalty minutes. He averaged 18:27 ice time a game. Gardner also hails from the USA and will be poised to step in for some of the ageing defensive core of the Forge in the next few seasons. He will no doubt make an impact physically and take on whichever type of roll the team would require.

Ric Charlesworth: Right handed Center currently on Newfoundland Berserkers. He is actually a season 58 draftee and has been able to contribute very well to the Berserkers offense. Last season he was able to contribute 28 goals, 23 assists for 51 points. He has the potential to be a late steal if he is able to continue to contribute and get better in the SMJHL and eventually make the transition to the SHL.

With the first official draft of the Philly Forge in the books It looks as though this team is officially come together. But there is no rest yet as Free Agency is now in full swing!
