s60 mPT #4: Feedback

I don't actually know who we have to thank for it, but I still say SHL probably has the best banking system of all the sim leagues.

Think we could do without the dual PT task progression for SMJHL/SHL because it was kind of confusing as a new user, and I'd love to see a cleaner TPE tracker similar to the ISFL.

Love how clean the index looks, and it's awesome that we can finally see how the playoff brackets look. If I recall correctly, brackets did not work properly on the old FHM index.

Don't really have any concerns that come to mind right now either Smile

Can I just say that I like how we currently run our graphics department? Sure, I could take some of the credit, but this is mostly about the others that are involved - all the graders and the advisors especially. I wouldn't change anything about it right now.

here are a few things that I think have changed drastically for the better in just the two and a half years since I joined here:
- the banking system is fantastic.
- the graphics grading system is so good now compared to how it used to be. I heard so many horror stories about the way things used to be, before I even joined up, and I think Carpy & Co just have done the best job over there.
- I think the site on the whole is a much more progressive place than it used to be. Or at least, we've gotten a lot better at not letting people get away with BS, and I think that's great.
- the new index is fantastic, and I also like FHM about 283943 times better than I ever did STHS.

I think the only thing I can think of that I'd like improved is better/clearer communication between SHL GMs and SMJHL GMs. Why don't we have a shared space? J GMs do a lot of work to keep users engaged and active while they're working towards playing for an SHL team, and it seems like we could all probably benefit from a more open exchange of information and ideas between those two groups.

1 Pro: I love the use of discord for the locker rooms. Having conversations via that vs on a forum lead to actual conversation and bonding rather than random posts that can easily get heated for no reason. If discord wasn't utilized for the locker rooms, i dont know if i would have stuck around.

1 Con: For the people who have never used a forum for anything, its a very intricate website with lots of ways to get lost. I think the site could use a bit more organization or explanation on things.

all live streams especially games. It makes it more enjoyable to watch games live. And of course drafts. Both smjhl and shl drafts livestreams are the best. Big respect for people who host it.

The thing I like the most about this site is the friendships I have made along the way. That is truly the best thing about this site, how it can bring people together with common interests.

I would not change the index because it is full of information and stats. I think that it is something that I would want to not change and hope it doesn't.

I really love the ability to create a player and build that player into something truly great. The longevity that you can get out of it is a big bonus as I did not expect to still be playing as my player this long in real life.

Discord servers are the best things that have happened on this site. Discord is so much easier to communicate and makes the main site irrelevant.
The main site is basically irrelevant and only need to look at it for updating otherwise it has not much use.

I love the new banking system. By far the best thing that has changed since my last time around here. The bojobox is awesome too.

Biggest thing I'd like to see changed is we need to shore up our punishments. I get there are a lot of moving parts and it's harder since this is all online, but it seems a lot of punishments I've seen lately have been meh in one way or another, either not taking intent into account, fining by the book for one group of people even though it was a complete breakdown on many fronts, or retroactively punishing based on incomplete data. But that's none of my business.

My feedback is two sides of the same coin.

I love reading a lot of the media produced on this site. People are really talented writers, data aggregators, and all that stuff. It's really cool to read peoples takes on the league, your team, and the players that you play with. On the flip side, it's a bit of a shame that there isn't more media. Sometimes there's a lot, like around draft time or whenever there are bonuses, but I wish there was a way to incentivize media more. It seems like a lot of users that write good stuff hit a critical mass of money and then there's no real reason to continue. Maybe there's something else we could offer? I don't know. I just like media a lot and I think it's a shame that there's not a bigger incentive for it.

I really like the new engine and the new index. It's not perfect yet but we're getting there. It's a big step from STHS where all the builds ended up looking the same.
One thing that absolutely turned me off about the league was the way media was graded because it was so rigid and there was no room for allowing more if someone clearly put a lot of effort into it. I don't know if it changed though so I can't really complain about this. So instead I'll complain about how I wish tournaments were anonymous because sometimes I feel people vote for their friends. I guess there is no way to prevent people from asking their friends to vote for them anyway but I always disliked participating in tournaments where people could vote for that reason. Random thing but idk what else to write about.

I like the new index. The guys behind that really made it something easy to search and less clunky. The other one was nothing to look twice at, but the new index is gorgeous.

My grievance is the inability for me to find a cushy job I can milk for sweet cash so I can keep max earning with minimal effort muahaha

I love the competitiveness of the teams on this site. It's what makes it feel real.
Knowing there are people doing tests upon tests to figure out the best lines in a playoff game for that specific team they playing versus makes it feel more immersive.
It's always been strange to me how some users dislike the people who work to build great teams, but it's what keeps me around.
