Following his team's 4-3 loss against the Texas Renegades, the team which the Panthers were fighting for the #4 and final playoff seed, Zach Dooley was a very unhappy man.
It was not for the reasons one would expect, however, as Panthers starting goaltender Mike Honcho was no where to be found during the game. For whatever reason, backup Noah Robinson took to the ice, letting in 4 goals on just 16 shots and his team lost by a single goal. Needless to say, Honcho could have certainly made a difference.
"I have no clue why he was not in net," Dooley said. "I very clearly had my lineup set with Honcho between the pipes. Robinson had already played his six games, plus a phantom seventh, and now he's back in net?" Thats bullshit"
The Panthers have already appealed the decision to the league and are hoping for a resim.
"I really don't see how this can go without a re-do. This was by far the biggest game of our season, and of course there is a mistake. And it's the second season in a row. Last year I can forgive, because honestly it was an error that probably wouldnt have changed too much. But this year, this could be the reason we miss the playoffs."
When asked about whether or not it was just a mis-communication, Dooley said there was no chance.
"I made it very clear, in both the SHL Head Office and in PM that Robinson was not to start that game. It's absolute bullshit that we get screwed over by something like that. If that ends our season, Ill prolly just step down."
Harsh words eh Zach?
"Well what's the point of putting all of my time and work in, for it to be ignored when it matters most? Maybe we wouldve lost anyways, who knows. But we should have lost with our best team on the ice, the team I built. If this costs us the playoffs, I dont see why I would waste my time again next season, when we would more than likely just get fucked over again."
And with that, Dooley left the media room.
It's unknown what will come of this, but if we miss out on the playoffs because of this game, I will definitely step down from being a GM and leave the site for a while. No reason why I should put any effort into this when the simmer ignores it, and when he does see he made a mistake, the commissioner is nowhere to be found to make a ruling. Bullshit.

Thought so but Spangle never approved it and todays games have already been simmed. So we got fucked over.

Was going with the dumb/immature thing lol.
You and Secord are Renegades and both understand why Im mad about this.
Okay, fair enough. Yeah it's ridiculous, especially since Robinson is a former teammate of mine I know how slightly above average he was in the NJWHL so it'd suck
