In other news, I have been in Finland for a few months now. The season in Malaysia ended in June. Back in January, I joined Kuala Lumpur Eagles, where I played 45 games and scored 250 goals and 24 assists. Those might sound like unreal numbers, and they are. My whole motto was: ''pass to nobody'', and it worked quite well. I was the top scorer in the Malaysian Super League. Unfortunately, we had a long ''covid break'' in March. We did not get to play at all or even practice on the ice during that time.

I don't want to make excuses, but that month or so long break really affected our game. When the playoffs started, we struggled a lot. Only four teams make playoffs in Malaysian Super League. We beat Malacca Vikings 4-2 in the first round and made it to the finals. In the finals, Kuching Bears was better. We lost 4-3. Because I only scored 31 goals in the seven games, I was told by the owners of the team that I'm not welcomed back for next season. I was more or less fired. They bought the final two weeks of my contract out. I got a couple of sticks and a ride to the airport as compensation.

I enjoyed my time in Malaysia. The people are nice, the food is nice, and even the Malaysian Super League is pretty good, at least when it comes down to facilities and how things usually work off the ice. No complaints.  Now I'm in Finland. I'm trying to keep my fitness levels up for the IIHF. I don't know if I'm going to play for Latvia, but I need to make sure I'm ready if the call comes. The IIHF tournament is a big opportunity to show my skills to teams out there.
