S61 mPT #4- Heroes

Joining the Detroit locker room (both times in my smjhl careers) usually the man to look up to was Tig's player.  Kermit recently was a power forward monster who scored a bunch of goals, but I wish to take my player in a different direction.  That being said the advice given in the LR on how to build the player I want to build is priceless and that is something to look up to as well.

As a Swedish create, I looked up to the other Swedish defencemen in the J who were making waves, such as Noah Nystrom (RIP), and Sven Yxskaft @kenvald. It's amazing to think that I now get to play on the top pairing for the Tre Kronor with Yxskaft!

While I understand the love for everyone in this league and how they would want to model their players after, I never really knew or understood hockey so I never really modeled my player after anyone, just wanted to be the best.

I looked up a lot to PGF alumni player Mikhail Petrikov because he was an amazing offensive defenseman in juniors, but copying his build had horrific results for me, leading to a mostly forgettable juniors career.

When i was a young noob rookie, as a s51 draftee, there was one player that i wanted to be. That player was none other than the infamous Carter O' Callaghan. The legend won so many trophies in his prime such as Ron Mexico, Jeff Dar, Turd Ferguson and many more. He was the player everyone would be scared to face on the ice. Unfortunately, my player did not live up to the hype.

When Doyle was younger, she wanted to be the greatest goaltender of all time in the shl and follow the footstep of the great Michael McFadden and become the goaltender with the most win in history.

I didn't really know the other players when I created my player but Aaron Wilson's constant success as a two-way forward is definitely something I would like to be able to emulate soon.

I look up to me, well my first player I made. Richard Metcalf who won a cup with the comets back in S3. He had a lot of success that I have tried to emulate without success with numerous other players

I can't remember his forum username so I can't tag him. But I always looked up to Monkey D. Luffy in Buffalo. A true hero of the people, offensive wizard. Friend of the newbs. Slight bitch. Love him!

I wish I had heroes to whom I had aspired to be like. Instead I've built my players in search of the perfection of a certain way of playing. Whether it's being a hard-nosed power forward or a power-play specialist.

Andren Akerson (Present)
Adrik Baranov (S55 to S70)
Rurik Razin (S32 to S44)
Roy Razin (S17 to S32) (HOF/Rage HOF)
Audun Wissink (S5 to S15)

When I first entered the SHL realm at the start of season 55, I had no knowledge of who was who currently, let alone the legends of old. But my goal was for Lemo to become a reliable two-way player from the start and when I was drafted to the SHL by the Texas Renegades, I found a perfect role model on my future pro team in the four-time Jeff Dar Award winner Andreas Kvalheim. Now as seasons have gone by and Lemo is gaining momentum in the big league, he finds himself on the same line with the already legendary Kvalheim and still can't believe his luck of being able to see so up close and even himself be a small part of Kvalheim's distinguished career.

After 69 shots on net with still no SHL goals to show for it, even the opposition started to feel so sorry for Lemo, that they decided to help him out :D
- Bad pass by Jack Klompus, he gave it right to Lemo Pihl.
- Lemo Pihl rips it to the net...
- Lemo Pihl will find the empty net, that should do it!
TEX @ MAN, S59 game 31

When I joined the site the first person to contact me was actually JR95, who I believe was just another player at the time, and he made a good first impression on behalf of the SHL that stuck with me. JR was only the first of many helpful users who made my early experiences on the site turn into a love for this game we play here.

The players I looked up to are @Evok Doyle and @Matteo Smith. Both goalies and both having something to do with QCC. They were a big inspiration for the character that now is Netman!

For the record (no TPE to be earned here for a J player, just rambling because I feel like it), it was Alonzo Garbanzo, and no other player of that era was ever going to come close. From the very first season of Alexis Metzler, the goal was a HOF spot and as high on the leaderboards for defencemen as I could possibly go, but by the time I was certain I'd be high up on them, I already knew the best I could do was 2nd after Garbanzo- in anything.

When I joined Maine, I really looked up to Will Windsor, who was a shot blocking legend. I really wanted Bjerg to be as legendary in the shot blocking category as Windsor was, and to continue that into the SHL.
