GCS S62 SHL Draft Prospects Final Rankings

I'm here with the Final Rankings for the S62 Draft Prospects, hot off the press! The S62 draft class is jam packed with high end prospects, several potential franchise players, and multiple rounds of high activity users for GMs to pick from. It's been a real treat to scout this group over the course of this season, and I'm just as anxious as any of them to see what happens at the draft I'm sure. There are links below to the previous rankings for this draft class, and the pre-season rankings include more information about how the GCS ratings are formed if you're curious.

TIER 1

- Tier 1 is made up of players I am sure would all make an excellent 1st overall pick. Mikko Rashford maintains his spot atop the S62 Rankings, Jesper Aittokallio slides down one place to third,and Spack Jarrow hops up to the second spot. Aksel Fiske finishes his steady climb up the rankings in the fourth spot, after starting out at 20 in the pre-season rankings. Shōyō Hinata, who was ranked 42 in the pre-season rankings, jumped a total of 37 spots over the course of the season to finish in the fifth position, which is a testament to the effort put forth by FormuleUn. Sharing that fifth spot is Zayne Dangle, who is another steady rising prospect this season, landing 11 spots above his pre-season ranking. There's absolutely no going wrong for GMs picking any player in this group, they will all be terrific additions to any locker room. -

TIER 2

- Tier 2 is made up of players that would make excellent top-10 picks, and I'm sure all of these players will be selected somewhere in the 1st round of the draft at the very least. Wendolene Ramsbottom and James Truong appear to have made quite a positive impression on their classmates, being two of the most common responses on the prospect survey. Jaeger Jones has had a bit of a roller coaster on the GCS Rankings, going from 13 to 28 on the mid-season rankings, then landing at 12 on these rankings, but he also had the largest increase in overall rating since the mid-season rankings. Rebecca Montagne slides a little here, and being a goalie she might find herself sliding a little lower on draft day, but she deserves to be among the top of this draft class. Jeff Larsson's overall rating has been steadily increasing all season long thanks to lots of multimedia submissions, making him one of the top first gen players available in this draft, and speaking of great first gen players, how about Jay O'Neil? O'Neil has also amassed a healthy bank balance to sustain himself for several seasons to come. Paul Koivu and Sconnie McHits round out the group, but they are two potentially undervalued prospects that could be top-5 picks in this draft. This group all had Activity as their highest rating, so GMs will absolutely love this bunch. -

TIER 3

- Tier 3 is made up of players that would all make great 1st round picks, and ones I feel will likely be called in the late 1st round or early 2nd round. Brick Wall and Eddie Creller are the only two players in the group who scored a 10.0 in any category. I think it's very close between Montagne and Wall for which is the top goalie in this class. Dirty Boots slid down 3 spots in the mid-season rankings, but stormed back with one of the largest jumps in the final rankings, going up 13 spots to 20. Eddie Creller, and Christian Kinsinger are two of the top recreates in this draft, and both have strong reputations from previous players. Theo Berglund, Dirty Boots, Gordie Goodenough, and Cup Noodle all moved up from tier 4. Svoboda, Pleyel, Gill, and Bertrand all standout as future SHL stars as well. This group consists of a lot of first gen players, several of whom are currently teammates in the SMJHL, so perhaps we'll see some of these names end up with the same SHL team. -

TIER 4

- Tier 4 is made up of players that I expect to be chosen in the 2nd round, or early 3rd round. There's a real mixed bag of recreates here, including some old legends of the SHL, and varying degrees of success among the whole group. For any player wondering why they're in Tier 4 and not 3, the most likely answer is multimedia, because there are a ton of 0.0's (or close to 0.0) in Multimedia among this group. That being said, there are still some absolute gems here for the picking, in particular Kikuchi, Schnicktenburg, Samuelsson, Muž, Stagan, and Arkhangelsky are the most active in Tier 4. -

TIER 5

- Tier 5 is made up of players who could slip into the late 2nd round, but who will likely be among the last active players selected at the draft. Immediately Vincent Catalano, Ezra Wong, and Marek Sköda all stand out to me as being undervalued here despite all having much higher Activity ratings. There aren't any inactive users in Tier 5, and everyone in this group has shown at least some signs of activity, but there are also a bunch of players like Skating Dino, Malach Sköda, Max Pane, Rodrigo Rivic, Pope Coswi, SD Core, Hugh Jass, and Lewis HamiltonIsBlessed who did do a bunch of PTs earlier in the season, but just haven't done one in awhile. kingtag1999 appears to have returned recently, having posted in several of the latest PTs, although he hasn’t made too many TPE purchases in the bank this season, but he could be a good late pick for someone. -
