Hmm well this is an interesting proposition. I think there's a lot of what-ifs in SHL history, too many to count really. For a long time a team's fortunes could swing on a pendulum so any small change here or there could have been huge. I couldn't really say what would have had the biggest impact league or site wide but I think Edmonton acquiring Stinson sooner would have been more ideal than when they (we) did get him. A little bit sooner and he could have had the cup he wanted rather than showing up and being apart of probably the greatest defensive lineup to not win it. Also he is/was a really good friend of mine and it sucked hard at the time knowing how badly he wanted to get one and him just missing our S28 run. All in all, probably an insignificant macro change, but I rarely look at things on a league scale, so on a personal level it would have been pretty huge at the time. Code: 3. Written, 3 TPE, Draft Kings (150 words min.) S20, the first reddit draft. Kind of set expectations for how things would be done every class afterward. Not to mention what a huge impact some of them would have as players, as managers, and as league personnel. Much of what the league is now has to do with what that class would end up becoming. Of course, that's kind of a homer pick since I was a small part of that class. I think S23 or 5 would also have a similar impact on the league. I haven't paid much attention to the classes since then, I checked out of the league mentally in about S30 so I really couldn't give a solid opinion on the ones that have some since but I'm sure if people are high on them then there's probably a reason for it. I guess it also would depend on your criteria for "impact", in any case S20 is a pretty safe bet since that class kind of broke the mold. Code: 12. Milestones, up to 3 TPE Code: 18. Written, 2 TPE, Baby come back 100 words min Myself lol, but for real probably someone like JT or Randleman. I know JT's still around but having him rockin full force would be pretty sick. He's for sure one of my favorite people on the site and when he's really going it's a sight to behold. Randleman made a pretty goated player, so having him back would be pretty cool to see. I don't know if he did come and make a player during this new sim era, but I think it would be interesting to see him Code: 21. Written, 2 TPE, Feed my back (its hungry) 100 words min Your work sucks and it's stupid. Kidding. Maybe, I couldn't say for sure. I will say that when I do come to do PTs, or rather, when I remember to, they're usually quite nice for the most part. In days of old I would get tired of doing them mostly because they were boring, unimaginative, etc. So that's a pretty big departure for me. Just getting to write kind of whatever I want, take a prompt and just use my imagination and bullshit for a little bit is the ideal way to do this kind of stuff. It's not serious, it's fun, and I appreciate that. Again, though, my interactions with the PTs are more limited than some others. +3 TPE Prompt 2: What if Theo Morgan never leaves Edmonton? Many seasons ago Edmonton moved a lot of assets to acquire super star Theo Morgan. At the time there was an expectation that Theo Morgan would remain a Bliz for an extended period of time. However that’s not what ended up occurring. Theo Morgan ultimately left Edmonton after one season and joined Hamilton. I think that if Theo Morgan had stayed Edmonton never would’ve fallen off into their current state and they would’ve kept competing for titles into the 60s. I think that Hamilton wouldn’t have continued to spank the whole eastern conference for the next half a decade or so either. I think so often you hear anti Hamilton sentiment across the league. While there are many reasons that back this, undeniably their incredible amount of success is the main contributing factor. Without Theo Morgan, The SHL would be a much less anti Ham league than it is right now.
+3 TPE Prompt 3: I’m writing this on the fly. I’ve got no clue about the historical classes but the one that I’ve seen make the biggest difference since I joined the SHL is S47. The S47 class is a titan that still reigns over the league. This is the class of Corey Kennedy, one of the top blue liners of the 50s and challenge cup winner. It was also the class of Toronto North Stars captain Harry S. Carpet. Harry Carpet is one of the greatest goalies in the history of the league and his been largely the face of the franchise since joining the team in the 50s. This was also the class that had Theo Morgan in it. Theo Morgan was a star in Los Angeles for years before a brief stint in Edmonton and then ultimately joining Hamilton. His time in Hamilton has seen him win the Ron Mexico Trophy and win many challenge cups. Which leads us to the biggest member of this class, Aaron Wilson. Aaron Wilson is perhaps the best player in the SHL right now and is probably a shoe in for the hall of fame. One of the best players I’ve ever seen and the titan of this class. +3 TPE Prompt 4: My career has been pretty brief and short so far but I think if a film were to be made of Bas O’Bigbers’ career it would probably have to tackle his SMJHL Career. Bas O’Bigbers film would probably star Daniel Day Lewis in the staring role. In the support casts would include Jason Momoa as Vaseline Podcalzone, Cillian Murphy as Lassi Suhonen, and Jack Black as Hugo Gronroos. The film would start with draft day and Bas going 9th overall to NL. The highlights of the film would include going to the four star cup championship in Bas’ rookie year, the captain ceremony of S58 were Bas was named an assistant captain, and then Bas’ final playoff game. My favorite part of the film would be the part where Bas scores a hat trick in the final 10 minutes of a game against St. Louis to give NL the come back win and stomp on the scarecrows. +4 TPE Prompt 6: A: Outside of having to play Chicago in a 7 game series, Texas had a much easier schedule than Hamilton. Hamilton had to play Atlanta, Buffalo, and Baltimore. All 3 of those teams had some quality to them. In particular Buffalo and Baltimore were phenomenal teams this past season. Thus Hamilton had the more difficult path to the challenge cup finals. B: Staying good for an entire decade. Hamilton in S53 was a dramatically different team. The three best players on Hamilton’s S53 cup were Robert Phelps, Flacko Lagerfield, and Gabriel Johnson. All of those players were gone for this cup. Hamilton has had to develop a whole new core in the last 10 years and they did that while winning challenge cups. Probably the most well run team in the SHL by far. C: A renegade is basically any kind of outlaw. I hear renegade and I think that he’s some kind of cowboy that gets up into wonderful wild west shenanigans. I have absolutely no clue what a steelhawk is. I suppose it could quite literally be a hawk that is made of steel. If so that’s metal as fuck. But more than likely it’s probably somebody that works in a steel mill or something which is cool too but less cool. No idea who Victor Helstrom is. D: Robert Phelps is probably the all time greatest Steelhawk. I think that Ben Dover is certainly a candidate in this discussion but ultimately it’s just not comparable to how good Robert Phelps was over his career. Aaron Wilson could challenge this one day but for now it’s still Phelps. The best Renegade ever is probably Kaarlo Kekkonen. +3 TPE Milestones

As the class finally reaches maturity, and 11 players sit above two thousand TPE earned, S53 has established their dominance over the league both on the ice and across the site. The class has seen 10 users in management roles at this point, with four of those being some of the longest tenured SMJHL leaders in that league right now. In addition to that the class was the core founders of the Simulation Hockey Network, has put 7 users in HO and department head positions, and 2 Littleton awards as non-simmers. On the ice the class has ten Challenge Cups among it's active users across 4 different cup winners since we came into the league in S55. Beyond the current success, 5 more will join the ranks of 2k before regression starts to take us, and multiple users should hit the top 10 leaderboard when all is said and done come December. 152 words Code: 4. Page's eerily similar looks and charisma would shine as the film travels through Wagner's youth in Austria, his first tip to North America, his rise to fame in Charlotte and beyond. Draft nights would obviously be filled played up with even more drama than what originally occurred, and the lively backdrops of Charlotte and Los Angeles would be ripe for off ice vignettes of Wagner's antics with teammates and his blossoming relationship with Kate. On the ice, his dramatic overtime goal with Carolina up against the wall would be a key moment leading up to the underdog Four Star run, and his MVP season would make for a fantastic transition into his SHL days where he would eventually find himself at the helm of the Panthers, both on the stat sheet and with the C on his chest. 158 words Code: 6. Hamilton had a far more difficult path to the finals than Texas. The gap in conference strength returned this season, as Chicago alone threatened Texas where Buffalo, Baltimore, and Tampa all had outside shots at pulling off the upset. Just in that, Hamilton had an extra "hard" matchup on the way to the finals. 54 words b. To actually pull off a rebuild in the SHL is far more impressive in my experience. Once you're good, you generally have an easier time retaining and attracting talent where as if you're in a rebuild you have to sell every player on the idea and are much more at the mercy of their fleeting interests. 56 words c. A renegade to me is any that goes against established norms, whether that be punching reporters or resolving conflicts with explosions, taking a radical or rule bending approach is the key. More SHL GMs are renegades than you'd expect, and not in the cool way - ignorant and educated rule bending are both too common here. 55 words d. Aaron Wilson is commonly referred to as the best player in the league, and it's not hard to apply that to just these two teams. His numbers are great, but wins are a goalie stat and in that regard there is a different greatest player in these finals - A Jobin. 50 words Code: 12. past 3. Written, 3 TPE, Draft Kings (150 words min.) Pick a draft class in the SHL that you believe had the most impact on the SHL. It can be a consensus pick, like S36, 31, or 53, or an off-the-board one (S41?). Explain your reasoning to why this draft class impacted the league; Could be in a good way, or a bad way. A lot of people will probably be picking one of their own classes as I will be here, and most reddit drafts are usually a good choice, but for my current player S46 was a crazy draft, one of the deepest and longest and at the time the biggest draft class in shl history I believe if it not still is. I believe the class also has the most 2k tpe players in the league out of any class and will have a ton of HoF players and was a defining class for the league with how big of an impact all the players had both as players and users. I'd start listing them but there's so many and I'd miss tons of people and if for some reason someone read this get flamed. S46 was also my 3rd player with the previous being s12 and s32 and I can easily say the size of those drafts came nowhere near S46. Also although we're supposed to pick just one I'd like to throw S47 in there too as a pretty deep non reddit draft with both recreates and new users that had a big impact on the league and together with S46 influenced how the league was for a while now. 6. Written, up to 4 TPE - Grab Bag: Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words. a. Hamilton was not taken to 7 games, Texas enjoyed two series sweeps, which team had the harder path to the final in your opinion? I think Hamilton had the harder path to the finals, even though Texas had the only 7 game series of the two vs Chicago, I believe Buffalo and Baltimore are much harder competition compared to Chicago and Edmonton. The first rounds for either didn't really matter but even there Atlanta is probably harder than San Francisco b. Almost ten seasons ago, in S53, Hamilton enjoyed a 40 win season while Texas mustered a measly 9 wins. Now these two teams sit atop the season standings, and the playoff standings. Which is more impressive, to stay good for a decade, or to complete the rebuild and finally achieve greatness? I think staying good for a decade as Hamilton has done is much more impressive. While completing a rebuild and reaching the top and winning it all is nice and a great accomplishment, I feel like it should just be expected for a team after years of rebuilding to become good if they're doing it right. Staying at the top once you've reached there for a while is the impressive part. c. What is a renegade? What is a steelhawk? Who is Victor Helstrom from the CW trivia? A renegade is a rebel or a traitor or just some cool bad ass person who's called a renegade, as for a steelhawk I have no clue, a hawk with steel on it or something. I actually was on Los Angeles in like S15ish I want to say when Victor Helstrom was drafted to my team in the top 5 and then traded for Brandon Donini, the username was Secord d. Who is the best player to play for either team? Is it a current player? Retired? Traded? Make your case. Theres some legends in the past for both teams, such as Chris Partlow, Elias Armia and Chico Salmon for the Renegades, and Joe McNeil for the Steelhawks. I'm pretty confident however that the best player to play for the Steelhawks will be Aaron Wilson as he has insane point numbers and awards and does not seem to be slowing down and if he keeps at it will smash the shl points record. For Texas i'm not sure who's the best but Andreas Kvalheim has to be in there too. [b]12. Milestones, up to 3 TPE Milestones are folded in with CW. What team on the outside looking in do you believe will be the next to break into the playoffs? What team will be the next new team to break into the finals (other than the core 4 listed in the above task)? Who seems to be building and earning at a rate that they will be a scary team in the future? We have already seen some successful rebuilds in Texas, Toronto, and Tampa, and some unsuccessful ones as well. Who is on the right track? I'd expect Baltimore or Tampa to be the next ones to break into the finals, but then again its so hard with how good buffalo is management wise and Hamilton coaching wise. From the West although it might not be for a while last I checked I think New Orleans was on a good path, they had a lot of good earning prospects last I saw in a close time frame along with their gms, as long as all those prospects keep developing they'll be a force at some point, also have the sim knowledge and testing to back it up as one of the earliest fhm winners and competitors even if controversial at times. Winnipeg and Manhattan have also assembled a wealth of picks and if they nail them all will also be good but that will be a long ways off which is the unfortunate part of FHM. Oh and all these teams also have to hope their players dont get discouraged and leave for other teams. 21. At the start I wasn't a huge fan of the pts/prompts because I prefer more team/league/sim/player focused prompts compared to lore or narrative stuff. But you can't please everyone and I know tons of people are the other way and hate sim prompts compared to the other ones, and even then theres still some non sim pts I enjoy but for a while I wasn't a huge fan of the prompts. But I think the new 2 options for each pt is a great idea and even this Championship Week has tons of options to choose from which is great, theres been a prompt i've liked for a ton of pts in a row now.

Written, 3 TPE, Draft Kings (150 words min.)+3 181 words I Believe the S50 draft class, my draft class, is the most impactful draft class of the modern SHL. It was, at the time, the biggest reddit draft in history. Usually the reddit classes get bigger ever time, so this is no huge deal. However, this class seems to have come at a pivotal moment in the SHL's history where growth greatly increased and the league rules were better enforced to create an inclusive and engaging environment. Although we're down to only about 20 users in the draft class, our prime years triggered a moment of change in the SHL landscape. Guys like Bobby Lane, Adam Barron, Michaud, Krashwagen, Henrik Lekberg Osterman, Vorian Atreides, Hernadivic and Wang were a great force for change in the league. Lesser players still made big impacts, guys like me, Tom Fiddler, and Michael Fitted, James Ronlain, First-Name Last-Name, even Weston and Gold had big impacts. Beyond the players themselves, S50 saw a huge turnaround for Carolina's Locker room, and saw new arrivals like myself, Fitted, z0rem, Acap, Tom Hanks, and Rankle to name a few.

(150 words min.) If I had a moment in SHL history to change, I would definitely make a change so the SMJHL has their form of the casino and continues to have their form of casino. I remember when I joined there was a weekly betting where one could bet on which team wins with the opportunity of a cash prize in the end. However, after a few seasons, it appears that it died off due to the unpredictability of games and the sheer luck of it all. Despite this fact, I do miss having a more interactive portion in the J so I envision that portion of the casino, the J Pick'ems, evolving into a more flushed out J version of fantasy which encourages site engagement in that portion of the league. This change would be in place of the J Pick'ems just fading off into the sunset. What I envision this doing is helping new creates and rookies earn money through participation which adds to their bank like the rookie tasks, but in a more fun and interactive way. Buffalo and Baltimore where the 2nd and 4th best teams of the league in points. (61 words) b. Hamilton being able to stay on the top for a decade, while tiresome at times, is the more impressive feat as one would expect teams to fall into cycles of competitiveness and non-competitiveness. I believe it needs to be better addressed and fixed through means as there are now 15 other teams in the league and it cannot be just due to pure luck that the top teams continue to be the same for the last few seasons with no signs of slowing down. It can certainly be fixed with the implementation of a few ideas such as a much harsher contract scale, having teams to pay more for their top players to a point where they are forced to let some of them go. Another way to address it would be to have harsher regressions in the league as the top players should be taken back more each season to increase the ability for other players to take the spots and for teams to cycle into and out of the playoff picture more frequently. I definitely think the hardest part would be to encourage players to play for other teams because some are very set on playing for just one or two. Even for this Champions Week, I really appreciate the additional prompts (and fun ones at that). The only thing I see that is a bit of an annoyance is the PTs being posted at different times and how they are not based on central time instead of eastern standard time. Hamilton was not taken to 7 games, Texas enjoyed two series sweeps, which team had the harder path to the final in your opinion? There are no easy games in playoffs that being said I would say Hamilton had the harder path to the finals. Texas like mentioned above had two comfortable series that ended up being sweeps. It isn't big difference but I think Atlanta, Buffalo and Baltimore is slightly stronger then San Francisco, Chicago, Edmonton. b. Which is more impressive, to stay good for a decade, or to complete the rebuild and finally achieve greatness? In real life I'd go with keeping the dynasty would be harder but since this is a sim league I'm going to go with Texas. It's hard to draft players every season and keeping them active and for them to build up TPE then it is to find a winning formula and stick with it or making slight tweaks. That's not a slight against Hamilton I just think rising from the bottom. Look at Hamilton, Chicago, Buffalo against teams like Minnesota, Tampa, Toronto. c. What is a renegade? What is a steelhawk? Who is Victor Helstrom from the CW trivia A renegade is someone who doesn't follow the rules and does their own thing. Pick a moment in SHL history to change. It could be something large, an expansion draft, sim engine change, or something smaller, like a trade or team punishment. Change something about this moment in the SHL and explain the impact the difference would make in how the league developed since that moment. (think Butterfly Effect) - One moment in SHL history that I'd like to change: NO expansions; how would this affect the parity of the league? If Atlanta, Seattle, Philadelphia and Montreal never exist, and the league is unable to expand, perhaps FOUR lines will have to be introduced into the FHM spectrum . I can only imagine how rolling four lines would influence who would be eligible for the challenge cup. I'm thinking the butterfly effect will be in full force and Hamilton would never win another challenge cup again - teams with the good fourth lines, the underdogs, the guys who split time, would be the ones who will win. I'm thinking that the league landscape may have Winnipeg at first place and buffalo at last place - fourth lines would be super influential and the top teams would have a difficult time navigating the sphere. This also begs the question, what would happen to the players selected by Philly, MTL? 4. Written, 3 TPE, Biopic (150 words min.) This one is open ended so how you approach it is up to you! SCENE 1: The beginning - Signed by the Kraken. This year was super influential. After being passed on in the draft, 7 and his group of rag tag management outsiders signed the 6'11 D man to an entry level contract, which turned into a 3 year deal! SCENE 2: The Four Star Cup / Agante - From undrafted to the Best Defenseman in the SMJHL, who also wins the Agante with a ridiculous stat line. This is by far the precipice of my junior career. SCENE 3: Drafted - The Hamilton Steelhawks select ADAM FRIEDLAND 31st overall in the S54 Entry Draft. SCENE 4: Traded - Before suiting up for Hamilton, Friedland is traded again to the Baltimore Platoon SCENE 5: Humble Beginnings - Friedland plays four seasons in Baltimore, hopeful for the future. SCENE 6: Moving Again! - Baltimore Platoon expose Adam Friedland in the expansion draft. Philadelphia selects Adam Friedland with one of their top picks. SCENE 7: One Last Chance - As Philly Approaches a potential cup window, this could be Friedland's last chance at success. 11a. Written, 2 TPE - The Procrastinator Special! (100 words min.) Welp, you waited until the last day to grind out your CW and the CC finals are longggggggg over by now. congrats to [TEAM], woo! Reflecting back on the series, who gets your vote for series MVP? Make the case why this player deserves it over any other. It's hard to root against Aaron Wilson, despite him being a Steelhawk and all. The dude just wins - without Aaron Wilson, can we really assume that the steelhawks would succeed like they have? My MVP candidate has to be Aaron Wilson. This goes for both playoffs and season - perhaps he will sink into regression as old age makes fools of us all, but it just goes to show that Wilson Is aging like a fine wine, and just gaining skill rather than shedding it. I thought the steelhawks dynasty era was over, but here we are- congrats to the Hawks. 18. Written, 2 TPE, Baby come back 100 words min If you had the power to bring back one user to the SHL, who would it be? We're talking full activity, balls to the wall. They could be a banned user, user gone inactive, or someone who's around but doesn't really fuck with SHL anymore. Pick your user and why you want them back that badly? Did you love them, or do you just want to watch the league burn? There was a player in junior - when I was on my first player (starvos) - with the Anchorage Armada - this guy named Patrick Perry Jr. I remember him fondly - he and I were stallmates in the Armada dressing room. He was certainly a talented player, and showed promise - but something happened suddenly. He just became very despondent, very distant.. almost, inactive. I saw so much potential in this kid. We need him back - We need these good young talents to stop fading into obscurity. If not for Patrick Perry junior, id like to bring back geckoeygecko full time - he is a funny guy and is full of personality and is really cool not sure if he's active still. 14. Written, 3 TPE, Upswing (150 words min.) What team on the outside looking in do you believe will be the next to break into the playoffs? What team will be the next new team to break into the finals (other than the core 4 listed in the above task)? Who seems to be building and earning at a rate that they will be a scary team in the future? We have already seen some successful rebuilds in Texas, Toronto, and Tampa, and some unsuccessful ones as well. Who is on the right track? I've gotta say - people, for years have been critiquing the Baltimore Platoon. "What are they doing, what is their plan? They have no direction! They keep trading picks!". Well, as is evident from this season, Baltimores rebuild is officially over - they have some killers in their top 3 players Duncan, Krashwagen and Luca Del Vecchio. Not to mention, their depth players have been adjusting to JT's system and seriously buying in. They took the Hamilton Steelhawks to 6 games, which is much more than the Texas Renegades did. I think next season, we really need to consider Baltimore as a serious threat. Hamilton may be regressing, and Baltimore may just be entering the prime/window. If not this season, look out for them the season after that. These guys really remind me of the buffalo stampede after their retool and successful rehabilitation. 13. Written, 3 TPE, Parody (150 words min.) There has been some discussion on the forums but its always good to hear more opinions: Parity. Going back 6 seasons including this one there have been 4 teams in the finals: Buffalo, Chicago, Hamilton, and Texas. If you add New Orleans you can go back 8 seasons. 5 different teams for 8 straight finals. Is this an issue? Does it need to be fixed? Can it even be fixed? I'm interested to hear opinions, approaches, or just doom and gloom on whether you think this will change, or if we will still be talking about the same teams making the finals over and over in 5 seasons. This is not a little boys league. This is a big boys league. This means, if you want to win, DO IT. we don't need the league to govern "parity", we need more players who don't want to flock to Hamilton every time they recreate. We need heroes, guys who willingly gain TPE through a rebuild, and ultimately plan with their GM to generate a window. Now, let's say this window doesn't quite work out, GM's should trade their assets to teams who are on the fringes of success (for instance, right now; Baltimore, Tampa, Toronto). They should bleed these teams dry for picks and ship out their superstars. If we've seen anything from these teams above, you need to absolutely tear it all down - no halfway "retools". It simply is not enough. GM's are responsible for success. Also, if a recreate "won't play" if drafted by rebuilder, make them pay. Simply don't draft them and seek better prospects, if there are any. It's up to the GMs, not the league. (TOTAL, 16 TPE)

If I had to pick one moment, I would personally change the S46 SHL draft with two specific point. I would change the draft destinations of Daco and Tibuk Soonika. Tibuk was a fantastic add that helped Chicago win their first cup, conversely Daco ended up costing their own team picks and drastically changing the course of Minnesota's last 15 seasons. I think this change would have drastic ripple effects for my team. I don't think the team makes the infamous McZ trade with based on how management changed after Daco's punishment. Minnesota would also have gone 4/4 on Anaheim Outlaws in the draft. I think we might have had all 4 of those picks pan out in that universe as well instead of personal conflicts resulting in Mander retiring as well as Daco's goalie never playing a single SHL game. It's entirely possible in this universe I never became GM of Minnesota as well. Code: 3. Written, 3 TPE, Draft Kings (150 words min.) 3. I think the most impactful draft would be the S46 SHL draft class. Not only did the massive size catch league management off guard, necessitating emergency SMJHL expansion, but it also caused an SHL expansion the following season. Not only was the size of the draft class huge, but there were a lot of users both new and old who pushed to cross the 2k TPE mark. The class created a massive influx of top tier talent for the league where top players were drafted far past the first round. Many of the draftee's in this class have also gone on to hold vital jobs in pretty much every area of league. I think S46 was a major turning point in how top tier talent emerged following as many draft classes after were also strong. Changing even some of the draft picks could make or break SHL dynasties. I often wonder if we will find a draft class as big as S46 anytime soon. Code: 6. Written, up to 4 TPE - Grab Bag: Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. I think ultimately Texas had a harder path to the finals. I say this because I think the talent gap between Texas and the rest of their conference is much closer than Hamilton and the Eastern Conference. Hamilton as usual were favorites to not only make the finals, but win and that makes Texas's path harder in my mind. Code: 12. Milestones, up to 3 TPE Link: Milestones Claim Code: 18. They did a lot of great work compiling and saving things for the league. Along with this they also had a pivotal role in the previous SHL Top 100 that I think would be nice to see back. ArGar was always a delight to discuss different aspects of the league with as well. They have a treasure trove of knowledge that sadly is not being used to better our league currently. 16/16

Congratulations to the Hamilton Steelhawks on another Challenge Cup win, this time in an impressive sweep over the Texas Renegades. My selection for Finals MVP is the Hamilton goaltender A Jobin. A strong team needs to be backed up by a strong goaltender and Jobin provided that for the Steelhawks. Jobin conceded only 6 goals to the high scoring Texas team across the 4 games of the Finals and his tremendous goaltending performance allowed the Steelhawks to sweep the series with ease. This include conceding only 3 goals across 120 minutes in front of a hostile Texas crowd, a feat that is not be to sniffed at. A great goaltending performance all around. Code: 113 words Code: 12. Parity is a major discussion amongst the league however it ultimately boils down to the fact that SHL careers are too long and regression is not impactful enough. As it stands currently, a player once reaching 1800+ TPE can remain at that level for many seasons by fighting off regression every year. What this allows is for teams that have secured a number of high earning individuals to keep them all together for extended periods of time, and with no real salary cap imposing itself as it would do in a real life league, this allows teams to build perpetual contenders with the same core group of players from season to season. Really there may not be a way to truly achieve consistent parity, as it would require an overall of the league's systems that would see player movement increase dramatically which a lot of users wouldn't be for as they just want to play with their friends. But if the league really wants parity, that would have to happen. Code: 170 words Code: 14. Written, 3 TPE, Upswing (150 words min.) I have to put my homer goggles on and go with the Manhattan Rage. Although the Rage won only 9 games this past season and picked up only 19 points across 66 games, good for second last in the entire league, that is all by design. The Rage management have heavily invested in a full rebuild, opting to attempt to build assets through the draft to secure a strong group of players that can challenge for the Challenge Cup in seasons to come. Whilst the next few years are also likely to be bumpy, the Rage have several top talents coming up the the team this season such as Robert E O Speedwagon and Robert Black, and they have a host of high draft picks across the next few years too, including first overall in the upcoming SHL Draft. The Rage may look like the runts of the league just now, but in 5 seasons time look for them to be pushing for the playoffs and beyond. Code: 167 words Code: 15. This season in particular though, Team UK are clicking and seem to have the right balance of personalities and talent on the team that can lead them to another international success. 2. If I could change anything in SHL history, I would change the outcome of the time the Tampa Bay Barracuda got whomped in 5 games by the Buffalo Stampede. Maybe if we beat them we could have won the whole thing. Probably not, but who the fuck knows. I think we had a decent team that season that could have gone farther than we ended up going. Maybe we wouldn’t have won it all, but I think the beginning of our fart goal horn would have led us to a swift and courageous victory. Maybe next season will finally be the season for us. We’re certaintly getting close I think. I really love the top defensive pairing of myself and roastpuff. I thin that could be a great top d pairing for many more seasons. Am I at 150 words yet? Ble blah blee bloo. Let’s go cuda. Let’s win the muthafuckin cup 3. Season 55 was and will forever be the best draft class in Simulation Hockey League History. A bunch of us ended up becoming GMs for teams. A bunch of guys are studs for their respective SHL teams. I think the best and most definitive proof that Season 55 is the best draft of them all comes from ByTor’s great piece about some of the highest TPE players in SMJHL history. Pretty much all of the top five were guys from the season 55 draft. That’s super fucking cool to me. I don’t necisarily think that proves that our class is the best, but it does prove that we have a lot more potential to grow and become one of the better classes on the site. As we continue to grow I think we will eventually cement ourselves as one of the most important drafts in SHL history. Hell ye boi. 6. a. Texas of course had the harder path. Hamilton is over over powered as fuck. It really sucks that they have been in the finals pretty much every season I’ve been on the site. Hopefully things catch up soon and we have a bunch of new teams fighting for the Challenge Cup soon. b. As much as I do get really annoyed seeing Hamilton in the final every fucking season, I do admit that their consistent success is really fucking impressive. I don’t like it but it’s still impressive. Hopefully that same string of success comes for another team in this league because I hate having to write about them. c. I have no idea who Victor Helstrom is. Maybe he represents what a steelhawk is all about, because I have no idea what a steelhawk is either. I Guess it’s a hawk made out of steel. What does that mean? I have no idea. I don’t know what a renegade is either. d. The best player on the Texas Renegades is Eric Hudson. He’s a goddamn stud and a good guy. He tore it up as the assistant general manager of the st. louis scarecrows while I was playing there. His player is a really good two way guy as well. I love him. yep. 12. Milestones: 3 teeps 16/16

Task 1 - 3 TPE
verification: grok Task 3 - 3 TPE (170/150 words) An off the board pick--the S60 Expansion Draft had an enormous effect on the league and set the seasons to come into motion. Hamilton lost two key pieces of the future, but hung onto their current top talent to stay competitive. Buffalo lost Bobby Sharp, allowing them to convert his salary into winger Jack Kanoff and reorganize into a true championship contender. Toronto lost two key forwards and a huge amount of their step, taking them from legitimate Great Lakes contenders to an above-average, round 2 exit team. Texas lost half of their award winning goalie tandem, freeing up salary but creating an exploitable load balancing weakness and removing a key part of their flexibility. This shook up the top of the league considerably and reinforced a new pattern: Buffalo and Hamilton are top contenders, with Hamilton’s tail looking considerably shorter. Texas stepped down into Chicago’s tier, a short distance behind the top. And Toronto, who looked like they could finally contend, were unceremoniously dumped out of the championship picture. Task 10 - 2 TPE (112/100 words) The series MVP in the Texas/Hamilton finals is clearly A Jobin. 0.950 save percentage over four games. No more than two goals allowed in a game in the entire series. A series opening game at 0.978, stopping 45 of 46 shots against. Say what you will about the team in front of him--he backstops one of the most effective defenses in the entire league. But the individual numbers don’t lie, and they spell out a dominant four games from Jobin. He started strong, built the momentum for his team in an incredible display, and hung onto that performance on the road as well. Easy goalie MVP for the series. Task 12 - 3 TPE https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid3120166 Task 14 - 3 TPE (183/150 words) An inconvenient truth about the current SHL is that over half the league could jump from the middle of the pack into the top 6 with a single addition. The difference between a 70 point team and a 90 point team is a single top performing forward or offensive defenseman and a good season of goaltending, and any team in the top 8 can make it to the third round of playoffs. Picking up a high quality center to elevate a second line, or picking up an outside Bojo candidate for your top pairing has proven to advance teams up the rankings. Toronto, Philly, Los Angeles, Atlanta could all jump from the high tens and teens into 5 or 6 if they pick up a Bobby Sharp or Matt Kholin, an idea that has become infinitely more likely over the last ten seasons. I would expect a team with a strong locker room culture and GMs with a history of success somewhere from rank 9 to 15 in the league to make that move and jump into the deep playoff picture next season. Task 21 - 2 TPE (109/100) I’m a big fan of the direction the PT department is going right now. I like having both “fun” and sim-focused options for my PTs, and the PT deadline shifting to central is the single best decision anyone has made on the entire site ever. Eliminating bonus TPE was a long needed change to reduce variance in TPE and is very welcome in my opinion. The only issue i’ve had over the season has to do with grading times. I’m not exactly updating frequently, but i notice when a task is graded super late and it can be frustrating for TPE grinders to have to wait on their returns. 3+3+2+3+3+2 = 16 TPE task 18 0 tpe 100/100 words free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab free gorlab

Task 1 (+3)- Verification
Task 6a (+1) - The Hamilton Steelhawks had a tougher path to the Challenge Cup this season, but that’s not to say the Renegades had a cake walk or anything. The Steelhawks were tasked with taking out both the Buffalo Stampede and the Baltimore Platoon on route to their showdown with Texas. On the other hand, Texas only really had one tough matchup with the Chicago Syndicate. Task 6b (+1) - It’s hard to peg one act as more impressive, because both involve a lot of work. On top of that, it’s possible a team in either situation can be helped along by some lucky event that may detract from how impressive their individual achievement may appear. I think both of these teams have been built well though, and it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see a rematch between the two of them next season. Task 11a (+2) - I am going to have to give my MVP vote to A Jobin, the Hamilton Steelhawks stalwart goalie. Jobin was outstanding in this series, and limited the potent Texas Renegades offense to only six goals in the four game series. The Steelhawks defense obviously deserves a lot of praise as well, and Jobin would certainly give them most of the credit if you asked him, but Hamilton was facing a steady goalie in Cillian Kavanagh at the other end of the ice and if Jobin didn’t elevate his game just above Kavanagh, then this series may have gone the other way. A Jobin was a workhorse for the Steelhawks all playoffs long on top of that. Task 11b (+3) - Task 12 (+3) - https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid3117734 Task 16 (+3) -

I think the biggest docu-series or documentary that fits the SHL well, is the 2 reverse sweeps that Calgary has done in their career. First inS S27, and then in S50. I think it would be a good 1st season, 2nd season type of deal that tv shows do now. It would mix the game footage with interviews with players on both sides, as well as the GM and other personnel. It would First describe how it got to the point. Lets say episode 1 and 2 are the first and 2nd round. Episode 3 is the 3rd round, and then the start of the finals. Then Episode 4 and 5 will be the first 3 losses. And then Episode 6 and 7 would be the comeback, how they rallied, and what was the turning point. Maybe game 5 or 6 when they won the game. Who did what, who were the stars PRESENT
Texas had a tougher pass through, they had to get through teams like the Chicago and others. While Hamilton is just the best team in the SHL for the past decade, so they get easy rides into the finals almost every year. Other than that hopefully we get better teams in order to make the path harder for great teams. So we get to see more upsets Code: 12.
