Well I can officially say my first ever season is complete in my first ever Sim league. I have always been huge into sport and analytics, done numerous fantasy leagues in all sports (hockey, baseball, football, soccer). I would say the sim league game is on point! I feel like I'm at home here. Everyone has been amazing and really made this community amazing. I know this is a 2x draft media so I wont spend too much time in my look back on year one then go into my ideas on the upcoming draft and my take on all teams.
In my first year I really couldn't have asked for a better experience. I was welcomed by all leading up to the J draft. I really had good interviews and got a taste of all my first recruiting season. Been selected 2nd overall was a shock, to be honest. I felt I made a big splash jumping into the league but was not expecting a 1st Gen to be that high selected. When I was added to ANA's locker room during recruiting to see how locker rooms work and meet the guys/gals, they were amazing. I felt at home with everyone so I was very pleased on them selecting me. I had such a great time during the draft watching the selecting process and making my mock draft (though it was awful and I had to make a public apology for leading my fellow classmates astray lol). I feel the first year went well but could have been better. Going into the year ANA was on in rebuild mode, having one of the lowest average TPE and one of the most inactive players. The core really felt to mold together and the improvement on last years performance was trending upward this year. With us making the playoffs and putting in a good series in the first round we really showed ANA is a team to look out for in the years to come. I played well, but always strive to improve. I knew going into the year it was going to be tough hill to climb being on a team rebuilding so the points wouldn't be there and ice time was going to be limited until closer to the end of the year when my TPE was caught up a bit. I posted 10G 13A for 23Pts and a -16 rating. Though the +/- was rough, looking at how most players on the team last year were in the -50's it isn't a bad start and shows trending up. I also won the hearts of his team and was selected as one of the "A" captains this year. I feel we have such big things ahead in ANA and cant wait to see where we go! I was also selected onto a strong USA team in my rookie year in the WJC. I posted a team high and tied for 3rd in the league with 6G in 12 games. The line was 6G 2A for 8pts and even +/- in 12 games. I never would have thought I would have been selected for Team USA. They have some strong players and high TPE but to come in and contribute with leading goals, really makes ya think "there is no ceiling for this guy". OK TO THE DRAFT INFO! I feel I have gotten a good idea how the recruiting process goes so I am not going to have rapid anxiety this time lol. I am going to list team by team (please dont get offended if info isnt what you want to hear. I could careless where I go and just want to help which ever team I get drafted by. This is mostly color schemes lol) and give them grades on fit for Lesgo. Atlanta Inferno - B+ ATL had a decent record at 28-28-10. There is some room for wingers in the future so Lesgo has some chance to move up quickly here. The colors are really clean and logo is great. Good option here for Lesgo. Baltimore Platoon - C- Here is a solid team. BAL had a great record coming in 2nd in league standings with a 52-12-2 record. Though Lesgo would have a long time ahead to make this stacked team and BAL having a good set of wingers, it would be nice to roll up in here in a few years. The patriotic colors and eagle logo are right up Lesgo's ally, I just find it hard seeing Lesgo land here. Buffalo Stampede - F BUF is another solid team with a 50-16-0 record. They have a little more chance for Lesgo to make it up sooner than BAL but it would still be some time. Buffalo would be a nice fit but it would just really be hard lol. This color scheme is a huge put off. Coming from playing D1 football at S. Dakota State .. our rivals were N. Dakota State and they were the Bison .. same colors and animal just really off putting here. (id get over it if selected lol). Hamilton Steelhawks - B I did a media back when about how good Hamilton was, though slight down year this year they still have some solid lineup and pedigree. They had a decent 46-13-7 record. They have really good Centers and few wingers so there is some room for Lesgo but really don't see a call up for few years here. I like the colors here, blue is always a good look and a light blue dark blue combo come off well, but the logo could have a bit more flare. Good option here Manhattan Rage - A Here is a slick team for Lesgo. MAN had a abysmal season with a 11-53-2 record. They could really use some fresh players even if it takes a year or two still to call up prospects, so there is room sooner for Lesgo. This would be a identical situation Lesgo's is already in with ANA, coming into a rebuilding team and looking to turn things around. The red and black is FIRE!!! With ANA already giving red and black options for sigs and graphics only seems fitting following that up with some more red and black! Montreal Patriotes - B+ MTL is identical to MAN. They had a 11-52-3 record last season. There is some serious options for Lesgo to move up sooner rather than later but still a year or two away. This is another good fit for the prospect winger. I really cant figure out why there is an "e" in the name and it might take some time to get over lol. The color scheme makes me think of the Chicago Wolfpack in the AHL, can definitely get behind the scheme. New England Wolfpack - B- NE is a tough one. They had a winning record with 36-25-5. They are really hard to read on time frame for call ups. There is some good wingers which doesn't look like a quick call up unless movements happen or retirees. Solid logo and scheme here. Philadelphia Forge - B+ PHI had a good year moving up a little bit form last year record. They had a winning record at 32-25-9. Looks like PHI has a strong couple wingers and couple who are working into time so there is some options here for Lesgo and can possibly be a great fit. Though I really don't like PHI teams the scheme and logo here are really clean and leave a lot of options for graphics. Tampa Bay Barracuda - A This is a prime spot for Lesgo. Management is making great moves in the 1 year I have been here. They made the playoffs, had a top 10 record 39-22-5 and acquired 1st overall this year and moved that for future options and still have 3rd overall. The future is bright here and who wouldn't want to be part of that. I know most people would see pink hockey sweaters and be put off, I kind of like it. Toronto North Stars - C+ TOR is one of the teams that just has me confused on what to say. They had a decent record 32-29-5 and +18 goal differential. TOR seems to have great Wingers so if taken Lesgo would have a tough road ahead making the roster. I don't hate the colors here but logo really could use a upgrade. Coming from MN, the name North Stars is awesome for Lesgo. Calgary Dragons - A CAL is coming off a good year. They had a 36-23-7 record. Though eliminated first round they did take it to a game 7 in a hard fought series. They have a strong winger core and with Creller waiting for a call up it would be huge getting Creller and Lesgo together at the next level. They are set to pair up this coming season in ANA and it looks like a strong pairing to tear apart, this could be a huge opportunity for CAL. This goes back to same comment with MAN, red and black is a strong combo for colors and with Lesgo already in ANA the scheme works. Chicago Syndicate - B What is there to say about CHI that their record hasn't said? 56-5-5 and best record in the league. They did have a tough second round exit but the team is huge. Luckily, they grabbed the 12th pick from CAL so there is a chance Lesgo lands with the best team. I just don't see much room for awhile which gives some time for Lesgo to bring some ships to ANA's port! The colors aren't great never a big black and yellow fan but the idea of syndicate and the logo are amazing. Edmonton Blizzard - A It was a tough year for EDM. Going from 8th to 16th in a year is not the trend GM's want. They finished this season with a 24-37-5 record. EDM has some room at wing, not sure on the youth of them but there is some room. I have to say this is by far my pick for Logo and scheme. This is an amazing logo and colors, very very clean! Los Angeles Panthers - A- A good year for LA, with a winning record of 42-22-2. LA has some really strong wingers so little more time for call up here. They have a the 8th best record and made some good moves to get the 13th pick. This would be a nice spot for Lesgo. The color scheme is really cool and being from MN and the logo having ties to the MN Wild is neat. Minnesota Monarchs - A MN had a similar year to the year before sitting in 15th on the year with a 31-34-1 record. Though MN has a decent winger core, they always could use some young talent to move the trend upwards. Still will take some time to make roster here, but all in all a good fit. I know if keep saying it, coming from MN I have to see its a great fit for Lesgo. Who wouldn't want to play for their state team. New Orleans Specters - C NO was on the bottom of the standing again this year, and even worse they lost the 1st overall pick to TBB who ended up moving it to WPG. Long road ahead for NO so adding young talent like Lesgo would be huge for the system but hard seeing that happen having no picks in the first round unless they make a big splash to gain some chance at a top 10 in a trade. Great colors here, though purple seems a tad bright like the logo and scheme overall here. San Francisco Pride - B Not a horrible year for SF, they moves up a couple spots on the year before and hold the 7th overall pick. The trend is moving in the right direction here. I would say SF might be looking at possible D-men here there is a good option with Ergo Nomic is all falls right but taking Lesgo at 7 isn't a bad option youth is youth and might as well keep the trend going up. Colors are fine here never a huge purple and yellow fan reminds me of Lakers but logo is cool and nothing beats a good lion theme. Seattle Argonauts - C This is going to shadow what the pride had. Some trending movement up here couple spots from the year before and having the 19th pick in the first round. I can't see Lesgo falling this far but it would be a big pick for SEA. They are some solid wings but could use some moving forward. Though I'm not a .. boat fan .. the colors are solid and could make for a strong sweater. Texas Renegades - C+ THE CHAMPS! Texas is coming in hot with a solid year, being 3rd in regular season and taking home the ship. They have the 20th pick so I don't see much chance to get Lesgo here, but if it happens you can bet its gunna gather some cheering. The Texas scheme is a simple black and silver which is nice and the logo is nice, a lot of options for graphics here. Winnipeg Aurora - A Where to begin, the worst record in the league with a 5-60-1. I would say it is time to make some big moves to push the needle north, and what do you know, they did. They made the move to get the 1st overall pick and they seem to be eyeing a certain "leg" in the draft. I don't see Lesgo going 1st or falling to 2st so tough shot here. They have an amazing scheme and logo right up there with EDM. Just wished they had options for Lesgo. Overall, this should be an exciting draft stream to watch. I can see a lot of mocks being busted before pick 10 here. I feel the best options for Lesgo here are going to be TBB, MTL, and MN. I wouldn't quote me on that but maybe a move for someone like EDM or CGY. I would like to say again these grades are 90% on color and schemes and 10% seeing what's needed.
