my new job as team chef begins today and boy are my team mates gonna regret totally making me look like a dunce at practice Thursday! @Evil_AllBran and @Drokeep totally taped my skates so when I walked onto the ice, I fell down like a fricken loser... then @honkerrs totally iced me while I was down. oh brother... these guys are a bunch of jerks! anyway, I have a special meal at my house tonight, as I've named myself team chef. I am cooking a sour blue razz powerade punch polka dot pudding with lots of fruit and my secret ingredient that found at my fathers workplace (here's a little hint... he works at the dump!).

these dudes are gonna have one taste of my sour blue razz Powerade punch polka dot pudding and know exactly that they've been fooled stav style. there's absolutely no chance they get over this especially since im live-streaming the whole event on my Vimeo channel!

As a team chef I will have a hybrid system of meal planning and customization. Pre and post practice meals and such will be planned ahead, changing each week. Game day meals for pre game will be based on the player's request. An example would be Jones always eats chicken parm and alfredo pasta before a game. He may have a snack or pre game nap as well but those are up to him. Any game day post game meal is up to the players, usually the players would go out post game, especially after a win, so the need for me to cook isn't there. Road trips will follow the same system, pre and post practice meals and snacks. Custom pre game meals on game days. All options will always have some good snacks. Fruits and veggies and others based on player preferences ( chips dips etc.) At the end of the day you want to eat healthy but the players aren't on a diet and with training everyday they need to be ready.

Prompt 1.

The NL team chef quit right before the alumni charity game, and they put me in charge of taking care of the food for everyone attending. For Ty, you guessed it, it's kraft dinner and hot dogs, all loaded with ketchup. For nham, we had to find as many boxes of cheerios as we could on short notice. We only found 6, he'll make quick work of that in mere minutes. For corey, we just threw some rice in a rice cooker and he ate it plain just to prove a point. Vic took care of his own food, he showed up with taco bell which of course caused a debate to break out. For patty, we went out and got some sort of abomination that he calls pizza. Beth and sota helped prepare korean fried chicken, and sburb helped make a few fresh loaves of sourdough. All in all we did an okay job covering for the chef with last second notice.

Prompt 2

Jaska Seppala of the Buffalo Stampede who has been playing great this season has a good healthy eating regime on game day. I will eat whatever comes naturally to me really. What ever I am craving. Some days it might be taco bell others it might be Wendys or maybe I cook up kraft mac & cheese (hold the ketchup). I do not think having a strict died will help. It might make me more stress to have to deal with following a strict plan. On days off I follow a very strict died because I think it brings me strength. Breakfast is 47 eggs, lunch is 17 ham sandwiches and dinner is a grape. This diet brings me much success and strength as I go through my day training to be a hockey player for the Buffalo Stampede. I might spice things up and chose something different on off days but i never do because I like keeping to a schedule

Prompt 1
Sven loves to cook! He gladly put on the apron after the previous chef quit. And being Swedish, he wanted to Swedish-ify the team menu a bit. There just hasn't been enough Scandinavian meals and Sven is feeling a little homesick at times.

The first obvious addition to the gameday menu is Swedish Meatballs! Adding the classic sides of mashed potatoes, cream sauce, and lingonberry jam. No vegetables here. Real vikings don't need vegetables.

Second addition will help the team up its physical game. We're talking Kroppkakor! Which literally translates to Body Cakes(or cookies, depending on who you ask). Eating bodies will get us right on track to hitting the bodies of others!

Finally, the grand finale. Pickled Herring! Now I know what you're thinking. No, this isn't the same as the surströmming you might've heard about. You know, the fermented fish that isn't allowed on airplanes. I'm talking picked herring, with boiled potatoes, and a mix of sour cream & chives on the side. This meal will be served after each win to reward the team.

Past Players

Quote:Your new job as team chef begins today! What do you make for everyone? Do you take orders, or do you pick what's served? Are you trying to help them stay energized for games, or do you try and poison them as revenge for making the last chef quit? What kind of weird stuff do your teammates order? Go crazy (150+ words)

For the first day as chef you gotta go with your best stuff so people know you know how to do your job. But if you take 30 orders you are gonna be there ALL Day and you can't have that. So what do you do? Buffet style baby. A little bit of everything in a old town buffet style dinner. Ribs, burger sliders, soup, salad, fish, sushi. You name it, its there. So now you've got that down, you hire some help, a couple of sous chefs Then you start to take orders. Gotta serve the carbs on workout days and the protein for game days. Id probably try to find something that helps the team out, like steaks on one day or fish on another. See which is helping them better which day. I don't think I'd poison them, maybe that other chef just sucked at their job. It does happen you know.

Prompt 1

The Los Angeles Panthers have a roster of quality chefs on the ice, though when the team chef left the diets of the team started to crumble. As the captain, and someone who uses nutrition to be at the top of his game, Jimmy Wagner stepped up and took over planning recipes for the team and distributing grocery deliveries for the whole roster. While some of the recipes have been uninspired, and not everyone is following the plans to the letter, the effort has at least mitigated the loss of the team chefs and nutritionists. Wagner, with this experience and his knowledge of the team and cooking has been working closely with the front office of the team to select a new group of chefs and nutrition specialists, but balancing the organization's love for warm salads and pilk with the demands of Wagner and the level of competition in the SHL has been a tall ask.

Alright so I'd make a pasta that I've been loving lately. It's simple, but real tasty and the carbs are good to get everyone's legs going before the big game that night. So we're going with noodles first and it's gotta be a nice penne for us. Fusilli is also good for this dish but for pre-hockey I prefer penne. Then with the sauce we're going with a nice Four Cheese sauce (I use Classico if it's on sale, or if you're feeling bougie I guess). In the sauce we're sauteeing up some white mushrooms, red pepper and red onions. The meet for the dish is going to be some mild italian sausage. I prefer this dish made with hot italian sausage - if you do it right the heat seeps into the sauce as you make it and then into the pasta as you combine it and it's a beautiful burn. But pre-hockey, we can't have everyone shootin fire out there (in the wrong way) so we'll be keeping it nice and mild.

And that's the dish.

THIS IS IN RESPONSE TO THE SECOND PROMPT, ALSO KNOWN AS PROMPT NUMBER THE DEUCE.

PASTA. FEED ME LINGUINE, PENNE, CAMPANELLE, VERMICELLI, MEZZELUNE, COUSCOUS, SPATZLE, FUSILI, BIGOLI - it don't matter as long as I'm getting my face crammed with carbs and my butt slammed by farts.

Each game day I get a large-and-in-charge package with about 3 kilos of various pastas delivered to my front door -- or to my hotel room. I will then go to the bathroom and start the bath running, full blast, and get out my tomatoes or cheeeses or creams or whatever sauce-base I'm working with. Then I get fully nude and submerse myself in the tub with my oils and juices.

After about 4 hours in the tub, me and the pasta are rightfully cooked. It's then a simple process of straining ourselves (it's hard to strain a person through a strainer) and being plated!

Every game day, without fail.

Platoon Rob Wright Battleborn

You lot are gonna wish you hadn't run our chef off. I'm a converted gangster from the streets, not someone who was as trained in the fine art of cuisine or dieting as our former chef. I'd be disgusted as well if you told me to mix Pepsi and milk. So what you lot are gonna get from me is the best pub fare I can scrape up. Clearly, I am also not a nutritionist. The best grub I can fix up is a carbohydrate-stuffed nightmare - fried fish, sandwiches aplenty, chips all around (or FRIES, as I've learned you Yankees call it), and pints. Hope you plan on hiring a new chef soon, because I don't care to keep this up for too long and I'm only doing it to make a point. You'd better not run off the next one the team hires, or I'm gonna reach deep into the bowels of British cooking and dredge up the blandest dishes I can find. You'll never look at an English breakfast the same way again.
