Hockey Prompt: On the eve of the sixty forth regular season of the Simulation Hockey League, Mats Marner and the Chicago Syndicate came out and spoke about how they are going to be dedicating this season to Ukraine. If dedicating and playing this season for Ukraine was not enough motivation for the Chicago Syndicate to set their sights on a championship run, there will be extra motivation with both Patric Twist and longtime fan favorite Corey Kennedy announcing earlier in the offseason that this will be their last season with Chicago before retirement. Chicago did not make many moves this offseason either then brining in Justin Keahi. The Chicago Syndicate’s core is getting up there in age and facing harsh regression but that will not deter them from doing everything they can to have another successful season. Some experts believe that Chicago may fall off as one of the top team in the western conference this season but the team will use that assumption as extra motivation to prove to the SHL that they are still a Challenge Cup contender. Overall, it should be an interesting season with the balance of hockey firepower evolving and the landscape of dominant SHL teams beginning to shift.
With reporters and camera crews following the team everywhere, it became apparent early on that Justin Time would not be able to avoid the media spotlight. Coming from the family farm to the big leagues was a pretty massive transition for the young goaltender, but throughout his rookie season he was largely protected by his rookie status and the larger than life personas of the team's top scorers, Jeff Hopkins and Aksel Fiske. Now, with Hopkins gone and five new rookie faces looking for help making the jump to professional hockey, Justin knew he had to step up and do his part on the entertainment side of professional sports. He's quick with a joke or a prank in the locker room to keep morale up, but since the start of the documentary filming he's become a thorn in the side of many a camera crew, strategically blocking them off from the rookies (or anyone looking for a few minutes of space) by leaving his bag and his gear strewn about the entryway, or stepping in to ask the reporters obnoxious questions of his own at the least opportune time, all with the innocent guise of being overly friendly and helpful.
Slavakov wants to do everything imaginable to stay off of the camera and out of the limelight. His main goal is to just go out and play hockey and doesn’t care much for the fame and all that comes with it. It’s actually pretty easy for him to not stay on camera since there are so many extroverted personalities on the team. There are plenty of other storylines for the team to focus on this season, such as the addition of Valor and our new co-GM in Hordle. But in terms of the bigger personalities, there’s the rest of the S59 crew is Tater, Sven, and THE FUCKING TURTLE. Seriously if a camera crew comes and doesn’t film the pasta reptile they are speciesists and need to be fired. With so much attention on everyone else there’s no reason to film Slavakov since he’s unremarkable on and off of the ice.

Season 64 is going to be a big one for the Minnesota Monarchs... but not on the ice. The team is finally seeing time catch up to them with their aging core falling off into replacement level TPE for the league and the new guys either being too young, or just not quite strong enough to be established SHL players. The team just lacks the top end that is required to succeed in the league as the draft classes in the late 50s, which are coming into bloom this season, were really not lucky ones for the Monarchs. Short of the still good Cal up front, and the new star level D in Arsene Leclerc, there is really not much firepower to see. It is very easy to see that the Monarchs will need to figure out a plan for the coming seasons as the team's future is hard to see at the moment, with a number of issues to address that all have an impact on the long term. Thankfully the team seems to have a crop of reasonably promising young players that should become important in a few seasons time, but without more bolstering it is hard to see it be enough with the current situation. The monarchs very much have little product available at the moment, and are looking rather low for future prospects as well. This season will need to see a bit more action in the trade market in order to set the team on the right path going ahead.

HOCKEY PROMPT -
I'm thinking it'll be an interesting season in Texas for sure. I'm pretty new to the team, only having just been traded there last week, so my opinion is just forming. But as everyone knows, Texas has really been one of the top teams in the league since the late 50's, and I don't really see that changing this season. The first season as GM for Yagoyi, but I think he'll try not to rock the boat too much. The team is still more than capable of being a top team in their conference.
Though questions do come up, such as who will take the mantle of goal scoring leader now that Burlok Sulfurgold has been moved to Atlanta? Burlok had 88 goals over the last two seasons, leading the league last season and placing 3rd in season 62. Alexander Watcher and Edward Williams have both been among the league leaders over the past five seasons, do those veterans see a return to form? Or perhaps Theo Kondos, the teams only 2k+ player, takes that next step in his 7th season after flirting with a ppg in recent years.
Their defence and goaltending will be solid. Backed by the veteran Cillian Kavanagh in net, this will be their strong point. Filled with vets, they'll know their place and won't back down from anyone.
All in all, this should be a helluva swan song for Texas. The team is getting older, and with new management in place, the question isn't IF they'' rebuild, it's WHEN. Many sources indicate that this will be the season that management sees as their final season among the top of the pile, before entering some sort of rebuild. This in itself would make for great TV! Vets in their dog days, a new hungry GM trying to put his stamp on the league. Must see TV!

Who does not love a rags to riches story? Just 2 seasons ago Detroit was at the very bottom of the league with just 5 wins in the 66 game season. Ticket sales were non-existent and those that did sell were commonly fans of the rival team because they knew they had a good chance of seeing their team come out with a big W and 2 points. This shook the Detroit management to the core. Between S62 and S63 new management came in and put a lot of focus into team chemistry and hard work. Making the experience enjoyable for all goes and extremely long way in digging out of this massive hole they are in. S63 came and went with noticeable improvements and it looked like Detroit may actually be a bit competitive in the mid-pack for S64. However, the team insists that they are shooting for a cup at the end of the season.
Netflix has a hit show about F1 where there are 2-3 winning teams and a lot of "mid field" teams so we know that people are excited to watch these rebuilds take place. All you need is a few good personalities and some creative editing and the money will come rolling in.
I am Jayden Cloutier, the Alternate Capatin of the St. Louis Scarecrows. I was drafted in S64 to the New England Wolfpack, in the 2nd Round, 25th Overall. I have great friends on St. Louis, with a great community, with @TheSparkyDee @Snussu @SabresFan and even our new rookie @Segi (Not New Really). It is super interesting all of the inside stories of the locker room, and I could bring this to you! Th largest development is Segi, our new 1st OA pick . Will he live up to expectations? (YES). We are a long way form the cup, but we are working our way there. This season is full of rookies, and this is our year to try and compete in the SMJHL playoffs! The story I encourage him to run the most is the development of rookies in St. Louis, including Segi's development throughout the whole entire season!!!
ATL for the past however many seasons has been a first round exit guaranteed. Things were looking so bright last playoff run as they went up 3-0 on the Tampa Bay Barracudas, but then lost their edge and were reverse swept, once again missing out on the post season past the first round. The team is growing strong and is bringing in a promising addition in Burlok Sulfurgold. Burlok Sulfurgold brings in some much needed offensive firepower to the team, leading the SHL in goals last season and going point per game for three seasons straight. This combined with the team growth and minimal regression paints a very pretty picture for the Atlanta Inferno this season. While the team wants to remain realistic, there's an aura of optimism going around the locker room and the fans are expecting a lot. On top of this, old man defenseman Gabriel Johnson will be retiring after this season and everyone wants to see him hoist the cup in his final season with the league.
Rylie Versi has come accustomed to being on camera and in front of media in general, but he still goes out of his way to avoid it when off the ice. While Versi has made himself available to the media team a bit, he's tried mostly to stay in the background. Something that's hard to do when he spends most of his time on the ice or in the locker room. He's been caught on camera pulling small pranks on his teammates and just overall having a good time. A few times he's snuck in with a disguise just to avoid them. He also shares his bag of snacks with the camera crew since they also like chocolate covered pretzels in return for less camera time. They stopped putting a mic on him because he just walks away with it once its on. Pretty sure he took the first two home.
This season is the most exciting for the Philadelphia Forge up to date. First of all, we have a new Co-GM and the team has 2 callups that will completely shakeup the league and team. Philadelphia is the hottest up and coming team. We have not gotten swept yet in the first round which is a miracle in this league.
I want to bring back the spotlight to new co-gm gurbs. He was already making waves in the team as an excellent player and locker room presence. Under this new leadership we are sure to make a deep run in the coming years. Also keep an eye out for rookie Conner Snooks, he is coming up with a lot of training under his belt and will make the league shake in terror. Definitely my pick for Rookie of the Year. IF his talent translates well to the SHL, he will be a hall of famer in no time.
After learning that the Tampa Bay Barracuda was going to begin being filmed for a TV series, Elwulf needed to find a way to not be in the limelight. He knew that there was a lot more to offer from the newer players on the roster. However, once he saw the cameras he became interested in putting on a show. It began once Zoltan attempted to get a cult going on the show and Elwulf decided to play along. He began making flyers and getting matching outfits for the team to wear during meetings. Needless to say, this was a departure from the normally taciturn person that the team had been used to seeing in the locker room. At the end of filming, it was decided that every scene featuring Elwulf not only had to be removed from the final product, but that it was in the best interest of the network and league to have all of the footage destroyed.
Which can be better than filming. As every young hockey player, I like cameras, because it attracts additional attention and if we want to be stars, we need to be able to act in front of cameras. Personally, I feel very comfortable in front of cameras, I like that film process. Some projects have been involved so far in which I did not have cameras in the main roles. Anyway, if we take that whole scene, our team can play in front of the cameras as such. Everyone understands the importance of showing both the teams and themselves in the lights of cameras. And I hope such projects will go on and there will be another great opportunity for entertainment in this way. I am glad that is exactly what we have this opportunity. In the meantime, I also know that Latvians are generally shy and do not want to be involved in such attacks. I guess I'm not a complete latte, or just our generation is changing at every moment.

Going in to S64 it's another year of building for the Edmonton Blizzard. As it stands right now we're in the bottom half of the league in terms of TPE. 13th in average forward TPE, 13th in average defenseman TPE, 14th in average goaltending TPE and 15th in average total TPE. None of these are exciting numbers, but what this doesn't show is the average age (draft season) of that TPE. Much like the Tampa Bay Barracuda and the Toronto North Stars of previous seasons our management team has opted to build through the draft and establish a solid base of quality youngsters. I don't expect us to blow the socks off of any teams or predictions this year, but winter is coming and the league best be ready. As for my old man I'm just here to help out and collect a nice pay check before I retire and fade in to obscurity.
The cameras are in the Texas Renegades stadium and Boots is trying to stay out of the spotlight. He doesn't mind being on camera but as a rookie on the team and with brighter starts to shine, Boots is trying to sneak past while interviews are happening or while camera are on players like Lemo Phil or Theo Kondos. Boots is doing so successfully but not making things easy for the other players. While out of sight, Boots is throwing towels at the interviewees or shooting pucks in their direction while the team is on the ice. Boots is also seen behind the cameras carrying banners with "Hamilton Sucks" or "Big Beans" just to get a chuckle out of his teammates or just to be a nuisance to the camera crew. Boots did however work with the crew to get inside the mascot outfit and wait out by the parking lot to get some of his teammates to jump. The prank ended when Fantobens tackled Boots in the mascot outfit.
