SHL GM Quebecer trying to make goalie TPE matter in Texas
After some difficult seasons in St-Louis, the team got some hight draft picks to be competitive again.
They got the 5th overall pick to select the high praised defenseman Tommi Koivu by @RotticusScott. A well balanced player who read the play really well and he can skate with the puck with a good puckhandling. He's not afraid to use his big frame 6'4'' and 220 lbs to throw some big hits and have the other team in check. This left defenseman from Ireland will be a key piece to the rebuild and they have high hope for him. After a trade to land the 13th overall pick, they select the speedy winger Bavel Pure by @Huck24. An offensive threat when he's on the ice, he uses his smooth hands to control the puck and his always moving feet to pass the defender and have a scoring chance. Bavel Pure is not a defensive liability, so watch out for the monster in 2-3 years. In the second round, the team uses the 24th pick to draft another Dman with the right defenseman Jonathan Mercer by @crutch. Another well balanced player who reads the plays like an SHL player. His stamina and puckhandling makes him a valuable player and he's able to do everything on the ice so he will have a bright future. In the third round, the Crows complete their defensive squad with the left defenseman Konstantin Äyräpää-Möttönen by @rory with the 31st selection. Another big strong defenseman with a stay at home mentality. In his own zone, he's a monster who thrown his body everywhere to block shots, punish opponents with some heavy hits and prevent scoring chance. He's got some nice passing and puckhandling skills so he can get the puck out of the defensive zone effectively. The Crows still need a goalie, so they managed to trade for the 36st selection to get the netminder Anthony Dionne. He's got some good reflexes, got control of the rebound and use both and to save the puck. He's best known to have an excellent positioning and the low shots are always blocked by his pads. He will be the number two for the next season and possibly the other one, so he can practice and get better. With all of these new players, the future is bright in St-Louis and the defense will the strength of the roster. A SCARY time is coming in the SMJHL. Let's go Scarecrows
