S66 PT #1: Opening Ceremony
#31

Player Prompt:

Videl has been waiting to get back on the ice since an ugly first round exit in last season’s playoffs where she felt that she did not put up much effort. One thing that has haunted her all playoffs, is the lack of any defensive viability, so she increased her psychical game in order to force more turnover from opposing skaters. The next thing she worked on is reconfiguring her offensive game too, as the Toronto media often badged her for an "underperforming" season where she slightly underperformed on expectations coming into last season. She feels ready to improve on where she left off, as the adrenaline fills her body, and she’s ready to make a huge impact on the team this season, and fix up any issues she had in her game last season, and prove everyone and the Toronto media wrong and to prove that she is the future of the Stars.

The season opener event for the Manhattan Rage is a no brainer: we're going to rage all night, win or lose. All beers are just one dollar, and there's no limit. Hot dogs are free, but only if you also buy a beer. Kids can come and are encouraged to, since everyone is going to need a DD by the time the night is over. We'll have multiple giveaways throughout the night for various events during the game, such as first hit, first goal, second hit, first penalty, third hit, so on and so forth. The prizes will all be (you guessed it) more beer. If we win, it'll be a night to remember for everyone involved. If we lose....well, hopefully we've handed out enough beer that everyone can forget. Anyone that passes out in the stands will have to aid with the cleanup effort after the night is over. (150 words)

This is a big season for Blouin, he has a lot on his mind. Up until now the team has had him playing a very defensive role and he's done great but he's always considered himself a two way d man and he has worked towards having the skills in both ends. Up until now the team has really told him to focus on defense, but after his performance on team Canada during the round robin where he led the league in points as a defenseman, it is clear that his game has improved enough for him to play the role he was hoping for. On top of being in his desired role Blouin should be hitting his peak performance age. With all that going on it's clear that Blouin would have a lot going on in his head, is the team becoming his to lead? Will his offensive performance live up to his expectations or will he let everyone down?

You’ve been playing hockey nonstop since mid-September, and suddenly the season is over. Exit meetings are done, and the final team party of the season is planned. What happens next?

Most often, the last party is a complete free-for-all regardless of location. Sometimes a player will host at his house. Other times the team will head out for a nice dinner. About the only guarantee is that whatever money is left in the team fine fund will be spent that evening. And then some. The bar tab is always impressive. As much fun as the party is, there’s always a chance that a teammate gets off the rails. And that’s what you worry about: having to take care of a friend instead of being able to enjoy the festivities. Thankfully it doesn’t happen often. But the wild-card teammate is always in the back of your head.

Provided that things go smoothly at the party, the next order of operation for most players is packing up for the trip back to their offseason home. And this aspect can vary widely. The more ingrained a player is within a city and organization, the more time they might spend there in the summer. For players that choose to drive back to their offseason homes, logistics can be a nightmare. Many have to rent a trailer. Book hotels. Figure out what to do with family pets while on the road. Not to mention how to keep kids entertained if they’re riding along.

Being in the Big Apple it's not difficult for us to get a spectacle any day of the week, and it's CERTAINLY not difficult to have a big show on opening night, whether that be a Broadway premiere, a movie premiere, or the opening night of hockey season. First off, the Empire State Building glows red and black to celebrate the team; the billboards in Time Square all turn red and show the logo to celebrate the Rage, and we have the Time Square costumers all in Mascot gear. It's a whole lot of fun, and the atmosphere in the stadium is even better. With fireworks before the game, and at the end whether we win or lose, and between the 2nd and 3rd periods we always try to have a huge performance from Broadway or one of Manhattan's own greats. Previous years have included performances from the cast of Hamilton, Alicia Keys and Sean Diddy Combs. It's a party every season!

So...

I could write 150 words on terrorism, but I'm not sure how fun that would be, and besides the idea would be to hurt Japan or Switzerland, not an arena. So... let's settle for propaganda!

The budget will primarily be used to fund the production of a great film to be showcased at the game. I want the best of the best in Czech cinema and only the proudest Czech stories (preferably hockey-focused). A chunk of the budget can go towards Czech-ifying the facility and the rest of the experience, such as replacing the seats throughout the stadium with blue, white, and red ones, hundreds of czech flags, the replacing of any and all logos and branding with Czech-influenced ones, government, corporations, or otherwise, the serving of a fully Czech menu, and the hiring of a fully Czech staff.

Oh also, you are required to watch the film prior to the game, or else you will be refused entry.

No refunds.

PLAYER PROMT: Salzberger is really excited about what is going to happen during the upcoming season. He was really good during last season’s playoffs and hope that he will be able to get building on his form and crush it to start the new season. He knows he will start the season with a bigger than he had last year and he feels like he is ready to take on these new responsibilities. After a game 7 second-round exit against a finalist team last season and reaching the final two seasons ago, Lillehammersson feels like the Atlanta Inferno have all the piece they need to have a go at the championship this season. The team has high-end talent at every position all the possibilities open to the team this season, Salzberger can go into it with the highest level of excitement. Of course, there will be some pressure on the Inferno to perform, but he welcomes this type of pressure with open arms.

We're back baby! It's S66 and your organization wants to kick it off with a bang! You've got a big budget, a whole team of arena staff, and the owner's green light to do anything you please-- as long as it's a night to remember.

Season 66 is here and to kick things off, Tampa has greenlit a fantastic charity event:  Guns and Hoses.   Local police, firefighters and emt's will train up and compete against each other in amateur boxing.  The one difference for this is, instead of in a ring it will be in a pool (because well, we're Tampa and our mascot lives in the ocean).  This event will occur the day before opening day.  There'll be charity auctions, a charity dinner and much much more!  After the event, patrons will be able to donate money in order to take sledgehammers to not only the pool, but to the tables, the dinnerware, anything they want to get their hands on to wreck or get their frustrations on.  I would feel sorry for the maintenance crew that has to clean up, but fortunately for them...they get to do it for free!.    Guns & Hoses followed up by CudaSmash (version 1) to be a great success and possibly a forthcoming annual event!

The Atlanta Inferno are going to spunk their entire budget on grinch and summer grinch (shrek btw). First things first, we need everyone in the crowd to be wearing a grinch or summer grinch outfit. So once you've proven you've got a ticket, please send your clothing size to the front office and they'll handle all the rest. You should receive your grinch or summer grinch based outfit within 24 hours of notifying the team you intend to be at the game. And no, stop being selfish, you don't get to pick if you're grinch or summer grinch. It's a planned event and we need to put specific grinches in some spots, while other locations get summer grinches. From there, please line up in a single file line approximately 2 hours before the game. Segregated of course, we can't be mixing grinches and summer grinches yet. After everyone is lined up, a horn will blast approximately when the away team shows up (totally a coincidence, this is not an attempt to intimidate) and everyone needs to bum rush the opponents buses. That will instill so much fear in the opposition (again, on accident, totally not a purpose) that they will wet themselves and have to play with frozen undies the whole game. EZ dubs. GG panty wetters.

Creative Prompt

For opening night in Chicago, Adelie decided to put on the kind of show that only he could do. He was given a huge budget and as the newest member of the the team through free agency, he was basically told to "surprise us". So he went and recruited the help of all his other friends. His penguin friends of course. He had them brought in by the boat load and before Chicago knew it, their arena was absolutely packed full of penguins. They immediately got to work as they prepared a massive penguin focused festival that would bring joy to the masses while also raising awareness about endangered species. They planned on putting on a synchronized show with dancing and sliding penguins, using the ice as a prop to help them quickly slip back and forth across the ice. They planned on giving out penguin paintings, painted obviously by penguins like you could get at a zoo. They even planned on giving out some of the favorite snacks of penguins for free such as yummy, yummy krill! It would be a night to remember and then there'd be hockey after too.

The season opener is a fan favorite in Tampa Bay. Every year there are activities and events for everyone. There is live music, game, and shows to watch. There is no evening like opener in Tampa. There is so much put into this day from players and owners down to the ticket sales, everyone is important and has a lot to do. The day starts off with a open street fair. There are stalls for vendors and a bunch of family games and events. Then each year the Cuda organization gets a few music acts to play for fans outside in the parking lot. We have had rock, rap, country and R&B acts and music for everyone. Once the music ends the fans start gathering to their seats for intros to begin. The team has some amazing workers behind the scenes to have an amazing light show and intro video for the season and great introductions. After the game everyone gathers back outside for a huge fireworks show to top off an amazing night.\

Answering for the creative prompt.

The Seattle Argonauts have always done a tremendous effort to make opening night as entertaining as possible for the faithful crowd at the Climate Pledge Arena. They will go out of their way to make sure celebrities in the area, such as other Seattle based athletes, are present to hype up the crowd. They could also potentially get big time musicians to perform too. Finally, it would not be opening night for the Seattle Argonauts without some massive boat themed gimmick, where the players are introduced one at a time as the entire team descends from a giant massive wooden boat that has been built by hand. Is it the safest contraption? I doubt it. Does it make for entertaining television? Without a single doubt for sure. The excitement inside of the arena would be nothing short of electric, just in time for puck drop to kick off yet another exciting season of hockey in Seattle.
