S67 SMJHL PT #4 - Next Level
#31

From the start I wanted Tony Hawkey to be a power forward build. The way I have been doing this is by focusing on physical stats and certain offensive stats that prioritize playmaking and assists. The area that I would put the most points into for a 350 TPE build would be offensive read. I think it is very important to know what the best option is when you get the puck. Passing is also very important in my build to get assists and make plays, getting a good portion of the 350 TPE. After those are taken care of, I would balance out the rest of the offensive stats so he can be a good forward and have options on the ice. Along with those offensive stats, the other part of a power forward is the physical aspect of the game. The strength and balance stats from the physical section are very important along with checking and hitting from the defensive section.

I came in to build the smartest and most annoying player in the league: he ain't big, but he don't know the meaning of quit, etc, etc. Started with the two-way forward build, leaning heavy into both O-Read and D-Read, then working towards def stats like stickchecking, checking, positioning, and hitting. But then you also have to build up the passing and positioning to pick up them apples!

So okay, let's keep building those things going: get to 14 in both of the reads, passing, and puckhandling. But you know what?! I wanna carve out a real niche for myself, and that niche is right down in the corners (on both end of the ice). I'm looking at building up the Agitator stats as well, since all the def stats will carry over (as well as balance, my main focus for physical TPE). And then I'm gonna raise screening to a 14 as well, just go be a pest and maybe even pick up some garbage goals despite a shooting accuracy of 10 and a range of just 8 (do I even need it that high?!).

Prepare to be annoyed by Marton Diehm on the second or third line for years to come.

Well as a goalie I want to improve on my save percentage just under nine hundred does not cut it. I think that I want to improve on that and hopefully improve as the year goes on and help my team and myself. I think that we should do great as we are top of the smjhl I want to keep that pace going. I don't want to turn back and keep winning eight and two record is better than I could have hoped for and I want to continue on improving my record as I move up. I think that I earned my stripes to win every game I play in maybe a couple loses here and there. I love how we are playing right now and I want to keep playing like this and keep on going strong as we go into the playoffs. I want to win and I know my team does to.

Pete Aleman is a man for whom family is truly the most important thing.  Growing up he remembers watching the SHL with his dad, early morning skates at the rink, shooting in the backyard and driveway.  An ideal 350 point build for Pete would be one that honors his father's influence on his life and his career.  As a D-league intramural player in college, Mike Aleman wasn't the best player in the world... but he played in a way that influenced his son for years to come.  He was a very strong defensive player: strong positioning, great hockey IQ, complete shutdown defensive beast.  Where he didn't necessarily shine (and a fact that he'll bring up with a hearty laugh after a few beers) was on the attack, having never scored a single goal in-game in his career.  While Pete is hoping to have a little more offensive success, he believes what was handed down to him by his father - defense is the foundation point of offense, and by giving your opponent fewer opportunities and by controlling the puck, you'll generate offense for your team without ever needing to shoot the puck yourself.  As such, Pete is going to be putting all his points into the defensive side of things, with minimal points thrown into offense.

I'm going to be a true 'defensive' defenseman, with a hard focus on a shut-down style of play. My presence in my own end will help to neutralize the other teams best scoring lines, and keep them from being nearly as effective as they typically might be. I'll be a team leader in shots blocked and takeaways, helping tilt the ice through puck possession and converting play from the defensive end into offensive zone rushes. I'll be a leader in terms of time on ice, especially when it comes to the penalty kill. While I might not light up the scoreboard, or lead the team in shot attempts, I''m going to be a difference maker in those tight one goal games, and help reduce the truly dangerous shot attempts from the other team. I'm not afraid to sacrifice my body to block shots, or to lay heavy hits in my own end to break up an attack.

Key Stats at 350:
Puckhandling: 14
Defensive/Physical Ratings mostly at 14.

My main goal for my 350 TPE build is to become a true offensive powerhouse. I am looking to build a strong physical perimeter shooter. I am looking to focus my points on shooting accuracy, getting open and offensive read. I am looking to take advantage of my offensive skills to get open and take competitive shots from anywhere in the offensive zone. My other points would go towards my speed and agility stays. By increasing these I am making sure I can stay in the play and lead the charge up ice. Lastly I would like to focus on increasing my checking stats. By doing this I am making sure I’m still a physical presence on the ice in both the offense and defensive zone. I would use the remaining points to balance out the rest of my stats to make sure I’m an overall balanced player while maintaining a focus on the offense side of the game. I think this build will help my team by providing some well needed scoring help all around.

So far I've focused on making sure my build is solid defensively , so that I wouldn't be a liability to us on our cup run. Now that my defensive attributes are starting to get to ratings I'm happy with, I'm going to start putting a bit more into the offensive side of my build. I want to get Getting Open to 10, it's only at 5 right now so I feel like that really hinders my players ability to contribute much offensively. After that, I'd like to focus on improving both my shooting accuracy and my shooting range. At this point, I'll only have a little bit of TPE left before I hit the cap, so I'd top off some defensive attributes like my read and positioning so that I can hopefully turn into the true shutdown defenseman I initially planned on being, while also being able to chip in offensively.

As a player, I'm hoping to build Loosh O'Sullivan into a premier SMJHL playmaker. I am interested to also maintain some of his other offensive stats, but I will definitely prioritize playmaking by focusing on passing, puckhandling, getting open, and offensive read. This way, I expect he will be able to dish the puck off to various teammates with more of an itch for scoring. That said, I'd like to maintain a decent baseline for his other offensive capabilities as well as his defense, especially considering he's a center. That said, I plan to secondarily prioritize strength, agility, defensive read, shooting accuracy, and positioning. I know this is a lot to manage, but I believe I can try to build a strong player within this framework and that he may become a force to be reckoned with. Even so, I know that there will be tradeoffs especially with how TPE cost scales.

Well on my last player Bas O'Bigbers I was really focused on making the most balanced player possible. I did that because that's what my team wanted. This time around though, I'm just focused on offense. I don't think I'll be putting any more points into defense so here's what I'm thinking. First I want to make my player strong, balanced, and relatively quick and agile. I've always notices that strength and balance are two physical stats that you can just never have enough of. They take your game to a whole other level. Next I'm going to put what's left probably into offensive read and shooting accuracy. I'm not just here to be a good offensive player. I'm here to score some fucking goals. Bas wasn't a great goal scorer in the J but for Guinness, I want him to be a goal scoring god.

Overall my 350 build is going to stay pretty balanced, I want to make sure im decent at all ends at the ice before I go too crazy. With that said I still do want to make sure I am at least making some kind of offensive impact. I strive to make a player that is just as proficient with keeping the puck in our teams hands, as he does dishing the puck to teammates with beautifully placed pass. As they say defense is the best offense and I hope that keeping up my takeaway/giveaway ratio is a great indicator of what im hoping to achieve in the simulation major junior hockey league. Some mainstays of my build will be my strength, puckhandling, and offensive and defensive read. Letting me use my physicality at the right moments to keep the puck in our favor. In the end a little more consistency and I think I will be in position to be an amazing player.

As I am sure my allies in the Yukon Malamutes locker room (and most general managers at this point) know, Edvin Kalberg is going to be an absolute defensive menace, an absolute unit who's a pro at making bone crushing hits and elite shutdown gameplay. So far, my most important attributes that I have been dumping most of the TPE I've earned have been the defensive stats, Checking, Defensive Read, Positioning, Shot Blocking, and Hitting. However, since Kalberg stands at a menacing 6'7", 243 lbs., there would be nothing to him if his Strength and Balance were bottom of the barrel skills, so I have been dumping some of my TPE into those attributes as well. In the future, I'll work on some offensive attributes, but I don't plan on getting most of those (besides Passing, Puckhandling, and Offensive Read) above 14 or 15, because like I said, I'm trying to make somebody who can absolutely blow people off the ice with his defensive game.

The idea behind this build is to be a lockdown defenseman with an aggressive and physical playstyle.  While the build includes said physical skills such checking being at 15 and hitting at 13, I want my build to be intelligent when to go for a check or to stay in a passing and/or shooting lane.  The stick checking and shot blocking allows my build to stop shot attempts and to direct them near the endboards for either myself or my defensive partner.  The passing and puck handling are increased to make my build able to move the puck in the offensive zone to at least a mediocre skill level as to not be a complete negative offensively.

The player that I am trying to build with 350 TPE will be a player who is dominant in the offensive zone to be able to score as many goals as possible. The three attributes that are going to be the most important to my player are getting open, shooting accuracy, and offensive read. These I feel are the most important to my player being strong offensively and goal focused by being able to get to the right spots on the ice with and without the puck and being able to have an accurate shot from anywhere when I get the puck on my stick. The next 3 biggest attributes for my player will be puck handling, strength, and balance. These are the next most important so that when I am skating with the puck I am able to keep control and not get knocked off the puck easily. In the offensive zone I want to have the puck on my stick as much as possible to be a top goal scorer and these are the attributes that I feel are the most important to accomplish my goals.
