If there were an instant-win condition, you would have to score a goal in your defensive zone, and you would have to pray that a goalie would pull a Vesa Toskala and allow a 200-foot goal.

I dunno. I'd probably go for something like if you can put together a string of passes where every player on your team receives and passes the puck at least three times each, and then you score, you win. But if the opposition touches the puck at all in that sequence, the counter is reset. No idea how feasible that even is, tbh

The new rule is that anytime Shea O'Connall specifically wants, he's allowed to do whatever he wants and no one can touch him. He must declare before the game if he intends to use this rule, but then again he can declare it to himself silently as well. If the refs fail to uphold the rule they're automatically fired and barred from the league. What ends up happening is that the refs are always enforcing this rule, even though O'Connall forgot about it the second game into the season.

If you score from behind the net by hitting the puck off of the goalies back, you instantly win the game. Since it isn't very easy, there does not need to be any fail safes in place to limit the number of times the instant win can occur.

The only thing the SHL is missing is a rule that states "if a Sven scores a goal, the game is instantly over and the team with the Sven wins". This is balanced and fair in my unbiased opinion.

Score three goals in one period, and you win the game instantly. No matter how badly you are getting beat, you can still win the game by scoring 3 in the 3rd. If a team hunts the third goal too much, they might get sloppy and allow the other team to get back in the game. And if both teams have score two goals in a period, the rest of the period would be basically a sudden death overtime.

If one of the players on the team can steal the keys to the opposition GM's executive bathroom and successfully use it, the game is immediately won by that team by a score of 10-0, regardless of what the score is on the ice.

We're trying to prevent head injuries here, so let's say that if a team commits a boarding major or delivers a hit to the head, subject to review by video replay officials in Toronto, the opposing team automatically wins and the offending team forfeits.

It's not creative, interesting, or fun, but you could always institute a mercy rule. If any team is leading by 10 goals at any point, the game is over and they win. 10 goals is a large enough number that it would probably never happen, but it's always there as a possibility. And it has to be a 10-goal lead, not 10 goals, period. So 10-0, 13-3, 68-58, something like that.

An interesting rule that can allow you to instantly win would be scoring a goal while on a 5 on 3 penalty kill. You balance the risk and reward since you will be down two skaters and at a high risk of getting scored on.

There is only one correct answer : Mascots competition!
From now on, at every second intermission, both teams will have the choice to wager the rest of the game on a competition between their mascots. For this to happen, both team will have to agree to proceed with this instant win feature. The mascots will pick the thing the competition is about (throwing pie at fans, dunk contest or even an all out fight) one after the other. The first mascot with 3 point wins the game! To balance this, the team with the lead (if any) will start with a one point advantage in the competition.

One of your players can choose to fight the entire officiating team - if your player gets thrown to the ice first, you lose. If you manage to drop the rof and both linesmen you automatically win.

Two puck sized slots are cut into the glass at each end of the ice, one on each side of the nets and if a player gets the puck through this slot, they win the game.

Let's add a little risk/reward factor into this and announce a new rule in which your team wins the game immediately if your goalie gets a point. Ie. an assist or a goal.
Hopefully it would involve playing the puck to the goalie more, and trying to get into a scoring position with no more than two passes. First one from the goalie starting the breakout. Past Players |
