S67 mPT #5: Instant Win Due: October 23rd @ 11:59 PM (PST)

First player to hit another player on an opposing team so hard their helmet comes off wins the game.  Would encourage a little more physicality y'know.  Big hits fer days.

It definitely has to be goalie goals. If a goalie scores a goal, that team should immediately be handed the win, no questions asked. Maybe even scrap the rule that goalies can't handle the puck past centre ice to encourage some more chances for goalies.

I call it the Coach Goal.  The Head Coach, while wearing their suit and dress shoes, can grab a stick and get on the ice, and if they score it’s an instant win.  However, they are completely open to getting lit up by the opposing team, which will be easy since they don’t have skates, and will hurt bad since they have no padding.

If you score a lacrosse style/Michigan goal you instantly win the game. I think those types of goals are really cool and it would be funny to see how teams try to do them.

You get 25 hits in a minute and the opposing team is "nuked" and your team gets the instant victory. This will make for a more physical game and some entertaining hockey plays.

Well, the new rule that allows you to instantly win the game with balanced risk and reward is the coin toss rule. Whoever wins the coin toss wins the game. The risk is quite balanced being a fifty/fifty chance. That being said, you would need to make sure that the coins are not trick coins and well regulated.

I think there should be a 1v1 challenge rule. Any one player can challenge another to a shootout. The terms of the shootout are as follows. 1) the challenged player has finally say if they accept the challenge or not. 2) Each player gets 3 shots on goal. the player with the most goals wins and therefore their team wins. if there is a tie after 3 shots sudden death rules apply. In sudden death first to make an unanswered goal wins. 3) If the challenging team loses they forfit the next game against the winning team. This is either the next game they play in the regular season or the next game they play in a playoff series. the forfeit can carry over to the following season. it can also be included in trades. The forfeit must be used on the next game. it cannot be held but it also cannot be used in a game 7 final.

Code:
Your task: Describe a new rule in hockey that allows you to instantly win the game. How difficult do you make it, and how do you balance the risk/reward?

Whenever a team has a player on their team who is named Ryuuji Kawashima, that team will instantly win the hockey game. This rule should secure a perfect record for any team with Ryuuji Kawashima on it.

I would propose a rule that says whoever loses a fight, will get a 2 minute penalty and the winner gets nothing. I think that this adds more to the fights in hockey and it would mean more to fight.

A small bucket will be hung from the jumbotron in every arena. If a player lofts the puck up into the bucket, their team wins the game.

Pucks that go out of play while shooting at the floating bucket are subject to delay of game penalties like when defending.

Thanks Jove for my sig

New rule will be if you score a goal in five hole then you automatically win the game. It is that easy. But remember I am not allowing five holes.

Toms Zīle - young talanted latvian goalie

I think if you do something that makes the opposing team go "wow" like Owen Wilson you should automatically win. Goalie scores a goal? Dangles through all 5 players several times? Auto-win and onto the next one.

In my mind, if your team scores a goalie goal then you automatically win the game. Goalies getting goals is simply too cool to only be worth one lousy goal. There must be a reward for the coolness.

Quite simply: goalie goals. We pretty much only ever see them in two forms: accidental goal where the goalie had last touch, and empty net lobs. By making goalie goals auto wins, we're sure to see some interesting new strategies.

We have implemented the Farquaads Rule! The rule states that whatever team employs Lord Farquaads is awarded three bonus goals at the completion of the game. It’s not an instant win, necessarily, but it certainly helps.
