After only 3 games of the preseason completed, is this a signal of the times to come in the SMJHL this upcoming season?

The Carolina Kraken are now 3-0-0. Yes I am aware, It's only 3 games. 3 preseason wins but nonetheless, I still feel like we need to talk a bit about the Kraken. In my personal opinion I believe the Kraken had a really great s68 draft. They only drafted 4 players. They did not need to draft many players because only some of their core players were called up to the SHL. Which is great for their rebuild process.

The second overall pick of the s68 draft the Kraken drafted Johnny Wagner-Svenson, more importantly, they drafted @AgentSmith630 . Agent smith is one of those kind of rare elite gem users that comes only once in a generation. He is extremely active and is also a guest on HHT quite a bit. He is a high earner and being the 2nd overall pick would have been my bottom number of guessing where he would have gone in the draft in my opinion. His last player before Wagner-Svenson was Rikard Bjerg a Right Defensemen. In his career he has won many awards. In season 56 and 57 playing for Maine he won the Zack Miller Award. When he played for San Francisco Pride Bjerg won s63 and s65 the Bojo Biscuit Award. Carolina could not have picked a better player and user for their 2nd overall pick. I have the most upmost respect for this user.

In the 2nd round with the 18th overall pick the Kraken selected FittedPrimetime99*cuddles @Fitted2106. He is a well known user that runs the Fitted Hockey Network. He won twice the 4 star cup in season 49 and 50. Another recreate player that will do well in Carolina's veteran locker room. This is an excellent and overall very safe draft pick to make in the second round. Quite a steal if you ask me.

In the 3rd round with the 41st overall pick Carolina chose Kelly Oneil @Cjolson1968. There isn't really much to say at this moment about this user. He joined the site November 9, 2022. I will say he is extremely lucky to be drafted into such a veteran atmosphere environment where only up is where his career should be going. Only time will tell.

With their last pick of the s68 draft, in the 5th round with pick 60, the Kraken drafted James Lao @Russwall. Just like Kelly O'Neil he is a first gen player who created his character in October 24, 2022. Again with the last player, there isn't much to go on with this user, yet. But given the circumstances they are both in, they both can develop into active top earner players with the guidance of the Elite veteran locker room.

Another user that catches my eye on the Carolina Kraken's roster is Derek Martin @"ItsFrenchie". Another user who I have the upmost respect for. He was one of the first people in the SHL that welcomed me here. He is extremely active and a high earner player who will also play a huge veteran role for the first gens that they have drafted. If I am not mistaken he was also an Intern for HO. (sorry frenchie if I am mistaken) Derek Martin was drafted 4th overall in the s67 draft by Carolina and has quickly, in one season, became a veteran that is known not only in his locker room but across the whole league.

I was going to write about the teams 3 games so far in the preseason but I am past 600 words. So here's a picture instead.

With some time, patience, and dedication this team can truly become the next SMJHL dynasty. GM's @sve7en and @esilverm have done an excellent job rebuilding this team and bringing top earners into the fold. Carolina as we stand are in 1st place in the preseason and in my opinion is a team to watch for in the upcoming SMJHL season.
