S69 SMJHL oPT - One Season at a Time
#16

Ace Lightning had a pretty slow start to his rookie season with the Nevada Battleborn, but improved gradually and finished with a pretty respectable season. Nevada didn't have a great season but did end up in the playoffs while also being a lottery team, and Ace had 17 points including 4 goals as a 2nd pairing defenseman. His defensive stats were pretty good on a team that hit pretty heavy, so we are very happy with that. To improve for next year, we are going to work even further on our offensive game in order to cement himself as one of the greatest offensive defensemen in the league.

I mean, it's really hard to say I'm disappointed with anything after walking away from my first season in the SMJHL with a cup. If I really had to nitpick, I was hoping for a few more goals, especially in big moments. my stats aren't bad by any means, but they aren't exactly distributed the way I'd like. I also had a very very rough first 12 games to the season and that created a bit of a crater to crawl out of in order to get closer to ppg. I never really got there, and I can only really wonder if I stood a chance had my first few weeks gone better.

This season was a successful rookie season for the young Mit Wobet. The main goal was always to lift a cup with my teammates, so in that aspect Mit and the Zerks came up short. The second goal was to develop into a first-round pick in SHL's Season 70 Draft. I believe Mit has done everything he could up until this point. The season was a slow start but hitting every PT and a strong final half to solidify himself as a first-round selection. The deep playoff run by the Zerks will live forever in the Mit's memory.

This beautiful season is over. I think that in general I can evaluate it positively, because I was not as bad as it might have seemed at first. I did not have confidence in myself because it seemed that it would be difficult for a young player to become one of the leaders of the team. But in the end I did it and I'm happy about it. I can definitely take positive emotions with me for the next season, which will certainly be useful in the next season. It promises to be stronger and stronger. I am also looking forward to the moment when I get under the wing of an SHL team, it will be a very awaited moment.

I think my rookie season was 'alright'. As a backup goalie you never really know what to expect. With an older goalie (hi Tummy!) on the team as the starter you know right from the start that you would have somewhat limited ice time and might get the easier games. I believe that is what happened in my case and that slightly showed in my stats as well. The positive part was that we actually made the playoffs and went reasonably far, but didn't win the cup in the end. The expectations start now because I now have a season to compare myself to and I want to be better next season. I want to improve in all areas and I'm sure that's possible for me. I might even get some more starts, we'll see.

this season was a bit of a mixed bag results wise. early in the season i was not doing well at all. It was very very bad with very poor start in terms of production. after the first week things leveled out a bit and i started to get back towards being an average player in the laeuge. team performance was the opposite. we had a hot start to the season and then at time went on we started to cool off and in the end we became an average team. not the best season for myself or the armada but we are looking to improve and get muh better into next season.

This season didn't reach my expectation at all. While my stats for the season wasn't too bad, and the Battleborn made the playoffs, we got ousted in the first round. And for the stats, like I said they weren't too bad, that's because the majority of my good stats came from the earlier start of the season, then the end of the season. Which is not something you would want to see happen to a rookie. But hopefully with getting an SHL team I can get a better understanding on how goalie builds are, to help the Battleborn get another four star cup victory, which we might be one of the favourites next season.

Ya know, I wanted Wisconsin to do really well in her first season, but she was just fine. It's better than I've really ever done in the juniors, if I'm being honest. I guess when Saotome blew up it was nice. But I'm fine with this. I don't think I came onto this team expecting an immediate chance at a championship, especially when they had such high draft picks. But 45 points is a good start. I think that I'll probably hit cap next season, so I hope to get maybe 20 or 30 more points on that. Hopefully they're goals, cause that's kinda what I'm trying to build Wisconsin to do.

I'm pretty impressed with Willow's rookie season all things considered. The Regina Elk were going through a bit of an identity crisis with two of the biggest defenders on the team being traded away for future picks, and Willow was tasked with being the new face of the defense. To say that it was a massive task was an understatement, but she stepped up and stepped into the skates of Hodor before her, literally. She led the team in blocked shots and countless amounts of bruises to go along with it. She even was able to chip in offensively with 21 points for a very good rookie season overall.

Well Jiggle E Puff had a fantastic season, capped off with his Quebec City Citadelles winning the four star cup. Jiggle E Puff had a fantastic rookie season, averaging more than a point per game with 67 points during the 66 game season. I don't know how that stacks up amongst rookies, but I would like to think that it is a very impressive number! And Quebec may not have had an incredible regular season, but when the lights were brightest, they turned it on. After a few nail biting game sevens, the Citadelles emerged victorious! Overall, I would call this season very successful.

After finishing out my first season, I can say that Sydney Shaw did not live up to my expectations. I’m not one to boast or even care about individual accomplishments, however if my player is not contributing well then the team will not do well and that’s how I felt the season went. Yukon was in the bottom of the league (but not last) and part of that is due to Shaws underwhelming performance. That being said, our team is young and I look forward to the future. Next season I expect Shaw to be a better defensemen and not let me down.

William Tree just finished his first season with the Maine Timber and I would say I filled in the role i was suppose to play pretty good. William played good when he was on the Ice and was a team player when needed taking breaks so his teammates can have some time on the ice. There's definitely a lot to improve and work on and that's exactly what he's going to do for next season. Try to help the team more on the offensive side working on my shooting, passing, and puck handling skills over the off season.

JaeHyuk Choi did his best. He made many friends on his team, he played a lot, and he even became assistant captain. I honestly didn't think my player would make it this far. With guidance from my friends, mentors, and GMs. Although he's a player from South Korea that doesn't have that many hockey players, that didn't stop JaeHyuk from doing his absolute best and working hard to become a better left wing. Personally I would have loved to devote more time to making my player an even better left wing, but I got hit with reality when returning to school. I hope next season will be filled with even more friends and improvements.

I would say my player, Daniel Grumathan, did about as well as I could expect or hope for him to do. 31 points is really not shabby at all for 18 minutes per game, limited ice time, and considering I stopped updating the last couple of update cycles. That all being said, I think the main area that my player needs to improve in is goal scoring and be a bit more helpful on the defensive end. I forget exactly how many games but it took forever for Grumathan to get his first goal and he ended up as the lowest scoring forward on the team. He might be more of a playmaker but it is still important to be able to score the puck if needed.
