I had a dream last night that I was playing hockey against Chris Chelios and he was slashing me a bunch after a whistle. I tried to go after him from around a linesman....and woke up to me ripping the pillow out from under my wife's head. That was a confusing moment for both of us.

Now that it's nearly over i would like to vent about my week. lost my wallet last week, had to replace all my credit cards, my license, etc, spent this whole week making phone calls (WORST SOCIAL ANXIETY NIGHTMARE) about those things, then making phone calls about the phone calls to confirm sure the phone calls weren't fraud. Three year old doesn't believe in sleep anymore and woke up at 2am three different times this week and never went back to sleep. My body decided to launch itself into the sun and develop a godawful tonsil infection with an associated 102.5+ degree fever for every single day since saturday; everything hurts, i feel like i got punched in the throat, i finally have antibiotics and they are the size of my finger (shoutout to my horse pill bro Reno). Hey surprise, also the world is on fire and you can't breathe the air anymore! Work is chaos, received final confirmation today that I will indeed be employed through September, something that was not at all guaranteed until then. So I'm already dealing with all that, and then...you know. Surprise player retirements! Surprise multiple thunderdome days! Surprise deep (and necessary but still mentally demanding) conversations about social issues! I am going on vacation three weeks from today and I feel like I haven't needed it more at any point since the early pandemic days.

I am sorry you have been having a terrible, horrible week. But there are many of us who truly appreciate the work you do here and more importantly how amazing of a person you are.
