a. Winnipeg has put together an impressive streak of Challenge Cup Finals appearances, but has no hardware to show for their dominance in the west so far. What do the Aurora have to do differently to get over the hump this year?
b. Buffalo, fresh off a rebuild, crushed their way through the first two rounds of these playoffs after coming in as a wildcard, scoring two consecutive sweeps against two of the best teams in the East. Have the Stampede convinced you? If so, what sold you?
c. Two very different teams took two very different routes to the Cup Final: which of them impressed you more? Why?
d. If it ain't broke don't fix it: Who you got? Who wins? Why?
C. At first, I would of said the Winnipeg Aurora but now looking at this Buffalo team, they are everything you need to beat this team. A so and so Cinderella run, winning against the most TPE heavy teams in the league (except for Winnipeg), and sweeping two teams in the run. Against the Aurora, which almost everyone expected them to come to the finals and even win it (I predicted they were going to win as well) and making two appearances in the finals which were both losses. Comparing this information, the team that impressed me more was definitely the Stampede. (101 words)
D. In my opinion, this match is way closer than it looks. A lot of people are going to argue that the defense of this offence heavy team; the Winnipeg Aurora has no chance of the last challenge cup winning team sweeping Buffalo Stampede. The Buffalo Stampede has won against the biggest of the biggest TPE heavy teams including like I wrote; the last challenge cup winning New England Wolfpacks. Now they just need to win against number one. In the other hand, the Aurora in my mind has minor weaknesses coming into this game between the Stampede. They have close defensive stats to the Stampedes and has a lot better point production which is a big percentage of the steps of winning the cup. But in the end I have to say the Stampede because the Aurora say it with me C C C Cursed. Edit: See I told you 3 losses in a roll in the finals... Their the new Toronto Maple Leaves! (164 words)

Continuing an emergent tradition: this year's final
features a god-bear of cosmic wind facing an unfamiliar
rival on a familiar battleground: this year, the great
glowing north faces a furious herd of buffalo! Tell me who wins and why!
The arena and the rules of the fight can be whatever you desire. Get creative!
Why didn't you put in how many buffalos there were in a herd!?!! Like I need to think and get "creative" now oh well. First things first if I to imagine, winning against this god-bear would be the most money put into something the human race could ever put money into something and a timely thing to accomplish, but I do think we would be able to somehow pull it off. But like Buffalos? They would have to stack on each other until they get to the god-bear which is probably made of stars. And I'm no mathematician but that would be more than I don't know more than a trillion buffalos. And another problem occurs when the buffalos lose energy, and how can they even climb on each other anyways? And if they miraculously did it, how would they beat gravity, and no oxygen. Well I think this is a L for the Buffalos in my books maybe I'm just insane. Also don't really think the number of buffalos in the herd would've helped either but I'm still going to put that in. Write your predictions for this year's IIHF tournament or WJC! Tell me about your team! How far do you realistically expect to go this year? What nations do you want to match up against, and which do you dread?
This season I have been given the honor of leading the UCORCAL WJC team as its GM this season. I have to say that all the nations involved with this squad have laid a fantastic foundation for a talented young squad for me to work with. I know we may not be as stacked in the national pool, but we have some fantastic quality players that are going to do great things in this tournament. I have a general idea of the tactics and lines I would like to deploy but I am sometimes an over-tinkerer. I am excited as well that @jj2416 will be involved in the fold in be my Co-GM this season. I am hoping some of my FHM9 knowledge leaks over into FHM8, I will be honest I have never played 8 so I don’t know how similar or different it is from how 9 operates. But I will try my best to set the tactics to have my players shine!

We came so close to the elusive Back-to-Back championship before it all came crashing down with Maine. It hurts just that much more that it was a dead 4-0 sweep and we couldn't even get one game. We came awful close to rallying back but the lads were tired. I only hope this ignites the fuel under the Zerker's loins and spurs a glorious championship run next season. It will be Mit's final year before he goes south and joins the big boys and girls, and he wants nothing more than to hoist a second four star cup over his head as a departing gift to his J career.

Yes I believe they will but I am biased as a member of the Aurora team. I am so freakin' biased that I am still predicting we win even though the finals have already been simmed and Buffalo won in 6 games (congrats by the way to the Buffalo team!). Sure, things look bleak for Aurora this finals but never say never. The doping agency hasn't completed their tests yet. Let's all just hold our horses here.

Winnipeg impressed the hell out of me. Not only did they do incredibly well during the season but they also paid me a large portion of money to play for them. This is a very good thing and has only increased my love of the team. Buffalo? They didn't give me a damn dollar. Shame.

How does your player feel about playing against SHL teammates in the IIHF? Do you ease up on your hits, or do you go harder? Do you grin at each other across the ice, or is this a point of national pride?
Once the puck drops, Spack Jarrow is all business and any previous and past relationships are out the door. Some people (ex-teammates) have criticized him at times in the past for this but this is business, this is legacy, this is everything. So don't expect Jarrow to be laughing it up between whistles. Spack always enjoys a good rivalry and having a healthy competition with a fellow SHL teammate on opposing IIHF teams. It makes it even more special when it comes to a one-on-one situation or someone who is actively on the other side of the puck. Knowing what tendencies they have and trying to take advantage of it but also knowing that they know your weaknesses and are likely going to try and use those against you. It adds an extra level to the competition. Now add even more when it is a forward vs. a goalie who are usually on the same team. Thankfully Spack doesn't have to worry about that since he shares the same IIHF and SHL teams with his goalie Rebecca Montagne!!!!!

It may be a copout answer, but there is absolutely nothing they could do differently to win. They have the highest team TPE team by far, they dominate the regular season, and rarely have any scares leading up to the championship series. It may be to the point that the only thing they can do is build a new arena and hope that the land it sits upon is not cursed like their current one is.

I do not think I would say that I am convinced, but I am right about there. I think Buffalo needs to have more than just one great postseason to be able to considered back at the top level of the league. I do not want that to sound like I am writing them off. What they did in the first two rounds was astounding, and then beating Philly in seven showed that this year they had the juices flowing. If they can make another long postseason run next season I will be convinced.

To say Winnipeg has been offensively dominant in their playoff run so far is needlessly charitable to their opponents. Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson has *twenty nine points* in sixteen playoff games. Mikko Rashford has *twenty seven*. However, Rebecca Montaigne has a 0.888 save percentage for this run. Can Winnipeg's absurd offense finally get them over the hump, or do they need to patch up their defense if they want to outlast the Upstate Upstarts?
There is an age old saying in the hockey world, both simulated and otherwise, and that is defense wins championships. Your offense is going to dry up eventually. Nobody, not even some of the top tier talents in the league like Ekholm-Gunnarsson and Rashford, keep up that ridiculous scoring pace. Something that you can rely is your defensive group and goalies to continue to shut it down. Add on to that the fact that once a goal scorer is snakebitten they start freaking the hell out. If a goalie has a bad game, that just flows right off them as soon as the final whistle blows. That goes even further when once a goalie goes on a heater, they become literal brick walls. By the time the final rolls around, both teams have the ability to score. They could not have made it this far if they could not. The team that can better shut down the opposition is going to be raising that cup.

Agent Tesla: So do tell Dave how you handle playing for Sweden versus Chicago.
Dave Heinrich: Well luckily for me there is a decent amount of overlap between the two teams so it is not as though I am out there alone up against a bunch of my friends and teammates. Honestly though I treat it like I do any other hockey game in that I am going to give it my all without disrespecting my opponents. If I were to go easy on someone in the IIHF just because we are teammates in the SHL would be doing them just as dirty as if I were to go easy on someone in the SHL because we are teammates in the IIHF.
Agent Tesla: That is a reasonable take on it I would say Dave. Although I admit it does sound not too dissimilar to one Michael Jordan who if memory serves would play just as hard in a finals game as he would in a pickup game at the Y.
Dave Heinrich: I like to think I would be a bit more relaxed for a pickup game at the Y, but uh I confess my competitive spirit might win out there. Not to mention if I am in a pickup game my agent probably has money riding on it.
Agent Tesla: I would never! I tend only to gamble when I can be quite certain I will win.

c. Winnipeg just steamrolls every team in the league every season (except Chicago I guess) so gotta give it to Buffalo who managed to reach the finals after yet another amazing rebuild. I don't remember who I had winning the cup but it wasn't Buffalo so they wrecked my bracket on their side, beating not only the reigning champs but also the Forge.
d. I'm definitely not writing this several days after the playoffs are over but hey after their incredible run, I think Buffalo will take it all. Yes, Winnipeg has amazing players but you gotta appreciate the Stampede's defense and how the stats are more distributed among their players. This is not the year the Aurora will end their finals defeat streak.

The Buffalo Buffalos have no chance against the brother bear spirit of the Manitoban skies. Buffalo don't seem smart in general and they can't fly so I'm not sure how it's even a contest. Of course, if Winnipeg hadn't added the bear element to their branding, this fight just wouldn't happen because auroras can't fight but if we're considering their branding is now about northern spirits and all that stuff, well that's at least something with a warrior mind. Or not. I don't know what to write for this prompt if I'm being honest and at this point it's word vomit. I would need to do research on the significance of brother bear to know if it would even want to fight a herd of buffalos. You would think not because natives have respect for nature but if it was in legitimate defense then maybe? Man, I'm not so sure about my initial answer anymore but if the buffalo cannot reach the sky anyway, what's it gonna do? Who even knows anymore?

a. Winnipeg Aurora hockey team indeed put together a very impressive consecutive finals appearance streak and it's unfortunate that they were not able to win yet but to be fair their streak is still alive so maybe next season will be the season. If they want to get over the hump they simply need to score more goals than their opponent.
c. Both are impressive in their own way. As mentioned in the previous prompt this is the third consecutive finals appearance for the Winnipeg aurora hockey team which is an impressive level of consistency, even if they have not won it yet. Buffalo hockey team on the other hand defeated some good hockey teams in their road to the finals.
d. I expect this simulation hockey league finals to be very close and some good hockey to be played by both the winnipeg aurora hockey team and the buffalo stampede hockey team. I would not be surprised to see the winnipeg jets hockey team defend their home ice by winning the first two but then the buffalo hockey team winning four straigh tto secure the cup.

Looks like [TEAM] won the cup! (Sorry, Micool.) What was your favorite part of the series? Who won and why? What could the other team have done differently to have a better chance?
Looks like the Buffalo stampede hockey team won the challenge cup, which is the trophy awarded to the champion of the simulation hockey league, which is a fictional league in which fictional hockey players play hockey. My favorite part of the series is the fact that they played some good hockey out there. Usually the team that scores more goals than they allow wins the game. And such was the case here, Bufallo Stampede hockey team defeated the Winnipeg Aurora hockey team because they were able to score more goals than them. Winnipeg Aurora could have won the series if they were able to score more goals.
