Which of your teammates (not yourself!) should be the last man in for your conference? Why should they get in, and why will it be a literal crime if they dont?
a. Evil Allbran and Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson are absolutely the best goal-scorers in the SHL this season but if you put them up against each other then I am absolutely going to pick the person who will go to their teammates more to still get that puck in the net. Ekholm-Gunnarsson has 7 more assists than Allbran so they are the player I pick to score in a face-off.

c. The eastern conference's Casey Fantoben and Brick Wall and the western conference's Justin Time and Jon St. Ark; are easily four of the best goalies this season and absolutely deserved a spot in the All-Star game. However, this isn't a full-season game... this is one 60-minute game so I'm picking the team that plays better over in-game stats. This is an easy choice for the Eastern Conference with both of their goalies having a much higher save percentage.

d. There is nothing fans enjoy more than a journeyman player that plays his role to the best of his ability season after season. They play for whatever team wants them; they are always open for a trade to help out their team and they won't quit until the wheels... well skates fall off. This is absolutely my player; in my ten seasons I haven't done much of note but my name should be well known as one of the remaining players of the Season 61 class. That's why I deserve an All-star spot.

After an up-and-down season ultimately culminating in a playoff spot; and an unfortunate sweep against the #1 seed and eventual finals team the Winnipen Aurora; we had far and away one player who was well worthy of a spot in the all-star game; RW Kyle Murray. And before you ask; no I'm not mad he out-played me at my position because this is a team game and knowing who deserves that starting spot in the lineup is far more important than being the person that demands that starting spot. BTW I was the 4th-highest points leader, 6th in goal scoring, and 4th in Assists So I did just fine. Tangent over!! Kyle was far and away the best offensive player on our team outscoring the next closest goal scorer by a whopping 17 Goals! While he did have 9 fewer assists than Ignacio Garza and 20 fewer than Viktor Hargreeves; the points-leader at the end of the season still swung his way by 7 points. Good luck in the All-star game Kyle!

a. The goal scoring race this season ended in a tie between Evil Allbran and Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson, each potting a phenomenal 60 goals. They'll be lining up on opposide sides of the faceoff dot this all star game. Which of our league's best scorers would you rather have and why?
b. Borje Samuelsson lead all the league's defensemen in points this season with an incredible statline of 22-59-81 in 66 games played. However, the best defensive defenseman in this all star game is Adelie de Pingu, who put up 16-40-56 in the same number of games played while still recording the best average defensive performance of anyone who made primetime. Which of these defensemen will have a better showing this weekend and why?
a. I would personally go with Ekholm-Gunnarsson over AllBran. Yes, the two were equal in goals this year. So in that I look at other stats. Ekholm-Gunnarsson was a better playmaker (being second in assists the last two seasons does that) and shot more efficiently, and the penalty minute difference between the two is negligible.
b. All-Star games tend to not give two shits about defense. While de Pengu had a solid enough offensive season while being tremendous defensively, Samuelsson put up unreal numbers offensively while also having stronger possession metrics (61.6 CF% to de Pengu's 53.8, albeit on a superior team). And nobody watches All-Star games for defense. Gimme Samuelsson any day.

Which of your teammates (not yourself!) should be the last man in for your conference? Why should they get in, and why will it be a literal crime if they dont?
The Blizzard have been campaigning hard for Luca Hunziker to be the West's last defender in, and for good reason. His capabilities defensively help enable Louise St. Martin's blossoming offensive game on the Blizzard's top pair, ensuring that someone's back during her forays up the ice. He's not just good defensively, either, chipping in 50 points on the back end including 40 assists, a top ten mark in the league. And he put up those numbers despite not scoring a goal until around the halfway mark of the season. He racked up 80 takeaways this season to just 8 giveaways, and was second on the team in blocks. The Blizz had plenty of All-Star level performances this past season and Hunziker deserves his flowers and this moment for his role in a season that saw the team make a deep playoff run. He'll be instrumental in the future as well.

c. The eastern conference will be lining up in front of netminders Casey
Fantoben and Brick Wall, while the west will play in front of Justin
Time and Jon St. Ark. Which team should be more comfortable with their
backstop tandem? Why?
a. Two fantastic players and goal scorers, but I have to go with Ekholm-Gunnarsson as the player I'd rather have. Lias is not only a premier goal scorer as evident by the 60 this season, but they are also the more complete player. With 74 assists to go along with the 60 goals, Ekholm-Gunarsson proved that they are a threat to score as well as find the open player at any time on the ice. (74 words, +1 TPE)
c. I would feel more comfortable with the eastern conference goaltenders. Brick Wall's name speaks for itself, but Casey Fantoben is what really puts it over the edge for me. Fantoben has shown in the playoffs just how dangerous of a player they are, and how a goaltender can get hot at any given time and carry their team to a cup win. Fantoben and Brick Wall both have a lot of experience on the biggest stage, and that is why I am giving the east the edge. (87 words, +1 TPE)

your conference? Why should they get in, and why will it be a literal
crime if they dont?
My teammate that should be the last man in is none other than Hodor! I played with Hodor in Regina, and will soon join him in Texas. Hodor is the ultimate team player, who is not shy about what his game is. A true defensive defenseman, Hodor was born to block shots. This season was his sophomore year in the SHL, and he casually blocked 304 shots, good for second in the entire SHL. Although Hodor is known for his shot blocking, that is not the only reason I believe he should be in the all-star game. Hodor also put up a solid 20 assists and 23 points to pair with the defensive stats. Although most players are given the all-star nod because of their offensive stats, Hodor is the ultimate teammate who does everything right and I believe that his defensive stats should get him in the big game. When you look at defenders who prevented the most goals against for their team, Hodor is at the top of that list. (172 words, +3 TPE)

Which player NOT on your own team are you most excited to see in action? Do you finally get the chance to cheer on a hated rival's star player as they represent your conference? Have you been tormented by a young player on a rebuilder that hasn't yet made their mark on teams out-of-conference?
I am most excited to see Evil Allbran in action during the All-Star Game. After scoring a very impressive 60 goals during the SHL season and 122 points for the Philly Forge. one of the most impressive things about this feat is that even after all of the offensive contributions he provided for the Forge the only other player on the top 10 leaderboards for most points, assists, and goals from the Forge is Red Kirkby who is 8th in assists with 61. It will be a very fun sight to see Allbran play with the other top talent in the league and to see where his powerhouse scoring can lead his all star team. although Allbran was tied for the league lead in goals at 60 he had 7 less powerplay goals than Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson who contributed 23 of his goals while on the man advantage which makes Allbran the more explosive and talented player while playing at even strength.

I would rather have Evil Allbran for my allstar team for a couple different reasons. as i mentioned earlier Allbran had much less help during the regular season than Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson. Winnipeg had a much stronger top line which helped their players score more goals collectively while Allbran had significantly less help to produce. along with the fact that Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson had 7 more power play goals and there wont be many penalties called in the allstar game, i would much rather have Evil Allbran. b. I think Borje Samielsson will have the better weekend at the allstar game because allstar games are always all about offense. it is much harder to recognize defensive players for their efforts and therefor offensive players tend to get picked more often for allstar game appearances. who would want to watch a game between the top defensive players anyways? we all want to see high scoring games. i think that although de Pingu is great defensively he wont be able to stop the leagues best offensive players all working together, expect a very high scoring game!
