a. The goal scoring race this season ended in a tie between Evil Allbran and Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson, each potting a phenomenal 60 goals. They'll be lining up on opposide sides of the faceoff dot this all star game. Which of our league's best scorers would you rather have and why?
b. Borje Samuelsson lead all the league's defensemen in points this season with an incredible statline of 22-59-81 in 66 games played. However, the best defensive defenseman in this all star game is Adelie de Pingu, who put up 16-40-56 in the same number of games played while still recording the best average defensive performance of anyone who made primetime. Which of these defensemen will have a better showing this weekend and why?
c. The eastern conference will be lining up in front of netminders Casey Fantoben and Brick Wall, while the west will play in front of Justin Time and Jon St. Ark. Which team should be more comfortable with their backstop tandem? Why?
d. Why should YOUR player have made the all star game, and why is this such an egregious snub? (If your player did make the all star game, argue for one of your teammates who didn't instead!)
a. I think between Evil Allbran and Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson, you definitely Evil Allbran. Just looking at their shooting percentages, Ekholm-Gunnarsson was shooting at a crazy percentage of 23.1%, the highest percentage in the league while Allbran had more shots on net between the two of them. In addition to that, Allbran has the better faceoff percentage. (55 words)
b. You definitely can bet on Adelie de Pingu on having the better weekend as they are well in their prime with a well-rounded game overall. From goals to assists to takeaways and blocked shots, you can trust de Pingu on both ends of the ice. I think if the two of them went one on one on the ice, Pingu can definitely stop the offense of Samuelsson whereas I am not sure if Samuelsson can do the same. (78 words)
c. I would definitely trust the duo of Casey Fantoben and Brick Wall over Jon St. Ark and Justin Time. Just looking at the save percentages, both Brick Wall and Fantoben were one and two with a minimum of 50 games played with a 0.914 and a 0.911 save percentage, respectively. Comparatively, St. Ark and Time had 0.909 and .908 save percentages. It is clear the east would be more comfortable with their tandem in net. (75 words)
d. First off, Ryosuke Sato at this stage in his career would not have made the all star game, but if we're really play such a make believe game, you can argue that he should make the all star game as a representative of the Toronto North Stars in which he played majority of his career for. It would be like his last hurrah as if you delay his last all star game any longer, then you might be seeing a Sato out there that can barely skate. (87 words)

A. Well, both players have a pretty similar look to them. In one hand Evil Allbran got less points in the regular season and the playoffs than Lias Elkholm-Gunnarsson and has more assists than goals. In the other hand Lias Elkholm-Gunnarsson got more points than Evil Allbran and also got more assists than goals which is what the two are similar to. In the playoffs the "more assist than goals" things happened as well. Lias Elkholm-Gunnarsson got more points than games at 22 and 35 points which is a 13 point difference compared to Allbran which had 18 games played and 27 points which is a 9 point difference. So I'm going to take Lias. (114 words)
B. Well I have a big bias to Adelie de pengu because he was in my fantasy team and was great (but still got 7th because of my incredible brain). I do think with a very good team in front of Samuelsson he will be very good in the regular season and playoffs. But with a mediocre point production partner of Pengu is what made him not succeed into the top. So when he did find fitting partners in the Allstar games he popped off. So I think that Pengu has a more better showing. (94 words )

Which player NOT on your own team are you most excited to see in action? Do you finally get the chance to cheer on a hated rival's star player as they represent your conference? Have you been tormented by a young player on a rebuilder that hasn't yet made their mark on teams out-of-conference?
Well, in the end Vancouver was better than us by a little bit and made it to the playoffs but I never had any interests in the Vancouver players even if they were our hated rivals. Some one I would see more than any of the Vancouver players are most likely the player from Nevada; Bender jr. Of course that's a very straightforward answer with the best point producer in the SMJHL, but I have a answer for that answer. If their not in the Kelowna Knights I have no interest in them in especially the playoffs. Maybe in the regular season I can talk and have fun with people in other teams but in the playoffs no one is left behind its just pure war. Because of those very non opinioned reasons, I picked Bender Junior. Not because he can produce big points in the SMJHL but because I have no other one to choose and I might be a little lonely outside of Kelowna. (166 words)

I'm very excited to watch ben jammin play because the last few years he has been kind of washed and I want to see him win again, I feel like he gets bad credit because he sucks but that's not his fault HO likes to take his TPE away. once he gets back to form next season I think he can get a lot of points unless he decides to become a more defensive forward and end players on ice like Tyler Myers in the NHL but you never know I mean he is only 5'11 so he must grow some more or else he's going to get knocked down a lot. i don't see this happening as he is fast. with all that being said I want to watch plenty of players next season but ben jammin the most as he is a player looking to prove everyone wrong.

I would want both but if I had to pick one I would want Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson because he has more TPE and is considerably younger, this isn't to discredit allbran as he is a great option but yeah just not as good as Ekhollm-Gunnarsson and sadly since he is older he probably wont ever be on Ekholm-Gunnarssons level again in his career.

Gotta go with Ekholm-Larsson because he has more assists, better accuracy and is a bigger powerplay threat. He is also younger and his team is higher in the standings so there's even better reason. Now if we are talking brand deals to boost a market AllBrand literally fits the bill and I've seen the name plenty of times to recognize it anywhere.

I'm feeling like the East's Wall and Fantoben combination will be more comfortable since they have 5 more wins together, more shutouts and better combined save percentage, I also know Wall from before and my other choices didn't make it. If Time gets more time than Ark on the Western side this could be pretty even though but if he doesn't.. No contest.

A name that sticks out is Knight being a player from S54 but Hinata, Bergmark and Jager are my fantasy picks for their scoring ability so I know they will be solid picks even if they don't ignite the crowd, Raiya's cheers are going to Svechnikov since he's the only Russian though. On the other side names like Manning and Rashford are also familiar faces since they've been top dogs.
Players I think that got stubbed were heavy shooting Kirkby, gritty McHits and Greyson Cooper for piling up 60+ apples and being on top five teams, between the pipes I see 30+ winners Base Pack, Montagne and Karsikko also stubbed. For Raiya she would have liked to see more of her teammates make it and defenders like Nightingale lead the way in hits, Boyle pretty much in the top 5 for blocks so they are definite choices, other forwards like Raiden also was top notch blocking and Valieva had 5 shorthanded goals.. He could be one of the leagues fastest skaters.

a) Hmm well this is certainly a hard choice! I would have to side with Evil AllBran on this one. I know it’s surprising that I would side with an aging star enjoying the twilight years of his career but there is just something about his hideous smile that I can’t stop thinking about. [53 words]
b)In my opinion it is a crime that Evil AllBran wont be sharing the All Star ice with his team mate Igor Victory. While S71 may have been his second to last season in the SHL Igor managed to set his regular season points record with 43 goals and 41 assists and shooting at an impressive 18.5%. [57 words]

a. I think I would rather have Evil Allbran. Obviously both records are impressive and I wish I can have that many goals in a season at one pointin my career but what is impressive about the way that Allbran did it was that his teammates were not as dominant as Ekholm-Gunnarssons. The top 3 assist getters in the SHL this season are from Winnipeg wheras Allbran only has one teammate in the top 10.
b. I think Borje Samuelsson is better set up to perform at the all-star game this weekend. I think the all star game is all about skills and being offensively minded and having the talent to do special thinmgs with the puck. Defensive Defenseman skills go a little under the radar to the average fan but to a GM and someone building a team, those are valuable players to have.
c. I think Brick Wall and Casey Fantoben line up better. Looking at the goaltender stats and the leaders for the past season, they are the two names that I see more often on the lost. For the West, Jon St. Ark seems to be the one that I see less of and not only that, if I do see him, he is always the last one I see out of the 4 players that got selected. So if the Eastern Conference can take advantage of that when he is in nets, they should have a good time winning the game.

The one guy to me that I really want to see perform this all-star game is going to be Evan Winter from the Edmonton Blizzard. The 3rd highest goal scorer in the league this past season and none of his teammates were anywhere near thew top for the assist leaders. I think Evan Winter is going to be able to benefit from having the ultimate star power around him in the game. And if I am the Edmonton Blizzard, I am scared and excited to be able to see what he can do. This can either be a time where Evan goes and realizes that there is way better talent out there in the league and he can perform at a higher pace than he already is if he would be lined up with one of the best passers out there. And even for the Blizzard, this can be a time to realize that maybe adding a piece or two to help one of the leagues best pure goalscorers can put your team over the hump.

Tell me about your teammate who made the all star game! Who are they, what makes their game special, and why are they going to utterly dominate this event? (If more than one of your teammates made the game, pick one of those players other than yourself. If you are the only player on your team selected for the all star game so far, then and only then may you pump your own tires.)
Dwight Knight was the lucky player from the Tampa Bay Barracuda to be selected to the all-star game. Now personally, I think he should have rejected the decision to go and end up letting one of the other active members attend since he is a player-GM and that would increase activity somewhere else. But I guess we now know the type of person Dwight Knight really is...... JOKING. It is forsure an honor to get selected and go represent the team there at the all-star game.
Dwight is one of the longest active Tampa Bay players on the current roster. I think he was on the team when they were in a serious slump and was able to turn it around for a little bit before starting the rebuild that we are in now. If there is someone who has had to deal with the tough life of a hockey player and a tough life of trying to go after that cup and building a team that is competitive enough to go on a playoff run, Dwight knows what that is all about. I think he deserves this one weekend to really get recognized for the job he has done for the team down here in the Sunny State. But not only that, it gives him the opportunity for him to relax and unwind and get that stress free hockey environment with the fans and most importantly, do what we all do on this site and forum, have fun.
Task 4, Movable Spotlights: 3 TPE
There's a couple of guys in the All-Star Game not on the Specters that I'm interested in. First of all, former teammates like Petr Svoboda, who is the reason why I'm even back around here. Artermis is a great guy and I'm incredibly happy for him to have been announced as the last player in. But in terms of who would be the most interesting, that's obviously just seeing Mikko Rashford and Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson. Because their sheer dominance in the regular season was so fascinating and while, yeah I can see them play together already with Aurora, at least this time they are technically on my team cause it's for the Western Conference. I'd also add Konstantin Selich, Sophie Bordeleau, and Max Manning to that list of interesting players to watch. I don't know many people around here anymore and I recognize a couple of those names.
