This awards ceremony is a little delayed as the S72 draft is literally right around the corner. The season didn't end the way that we hoped but we still showed growth and development in all areas, the coaching staff and management are proud of all the results and achievements we have made this season. First we will go through the Blizzstar of each playoff round of S71 followed by the end of season awards and fun superlatives!

Playoff Performers

S71 - Round 1 vs. TEX (4-0 W)

G - Justin Time - @RAmenAmen

#33 - Boise, USA

4 GP, 4-0, 2.00 GAA, 0.922 SV%

Justin Time stood on his head in the first round of the S71 playoffs against the Renegades. Posting impressive numbers and holding the opposition scoring to 3 or less every game. Meanwhile the offense exploded and outscored Texas by 25:8, that being said, they still tested Justin Time and peppered him with 102 shots over 4 games. Justin Time was a big reason why Edmonton has been dominant all season and he carried that into the playoffs.

S71 - Round 2 vs. LAP (4-1 W)

5 GP, 5 G, 5 A, 10 Pts, +7, 14 Hits

EGGWARD was a one man wrecking crew for the Blizzard in round 2. With 5 goals and 5 assists, team leading 10 points AND team leading 14 hits in the 2nd round. You can not ask for a more complete performance from one of your stars, putting the puck into the net at one end, and hitting anything with a pulse at the other. EGGWARD ELRIC was the main catalyst for the team in round 2 although the team lost 1 game, they finished the series strong with a convincing 12-0 win over Los Angeles.

S71 - Round 3 vs. WPG (4-1 L)

RW - Ryuuji Kawashima - @Raven

#26 - Kashima, Japan

5 GP, 6 G, 4 A, 10 Pts, +7, 11 Hits

While the team struggled against perennial powerhouse Winnepeg, the team showed poise as it advanced the furthest it has ever gone in recent memory. One bright light in the series was Ryuuji Kawashima, the grizzled veteran carried the team on his back and willed them to a 5 game series, going toe to toe with close games through the entire series. In round 3, Ryuuji lead the team in goals, points, +/-, and hits. With the team gaining the experience of going to the 3rd round and seeing what it takes to win first hand, we are excited to see the Blizzard climb to that elusive final series and win.

S71 Edmonton Blizzard Team Awards

With the season over, the management team had a tough decision ahead of them determining the award winners for this season. It was an amazing season with so many breakout performances and career years, as stated before the coaching staff and management team could not be more proud (other than winning the cup) of what we have achieved as a group this year.
