How the Regina Elks are doing as of around on irl week into the sim.
The Standings
Currently Regina sits 3rd in the Whole SMJHL, 2nd in the Atlantic Conference, and first in their division through 7 games played.
Things are going as expected and maybe even a little better than expected for the Elks. They got off to a good start and we will see how far they go.
I predict that they will make the playoffs, but who knows how far they can go.
Team Stats
Currently The Elk’s Special Lines are looking good with a Penalty Kill of 80% and a Power Play of 18%.
Regina has an average of 4.65 GFoals per game and an average of 3 goals against per game.
The Players
Mercedes Bayle and Rowan O’Beirne have combined to be one of the best and most lethal duos in the league. Currently Bayle The Goal Scorer stands with 15 goals, Top 3 in the league and O’Beirne leads the league in assists with 19. As Rowan O’Beirne describes it, “I pass to Bayley, Bayley Scor” Which is certainly true.
The netminders have been strong for the Elkies with each keeper posting superb statistics and each a shutout.
The Rookies have performed nicely for The Elks. Mac Turner currently leads the Regina rookies in points, while red panda already proved himself to the team by winning a fight! This Rookie class looks to be outstanding for the Elks.

Mercedes Bayle! The Elkies top goal scorer is one of the best in the league and Regina is surely lucky to have Bayle!
Most Underrated
Oliver Ozols! Ozols is second in points among the elks with 25! Ozols is also Top 10 in the league in points, and goals, and is also top 10 among forwards in shots blocked!
Most Surprising
Mac Turner(Me) has been a happy surprise for Regina. In the preseason Turner really showed off his physical abilities, Being top 10 in the league in the physical stats in the preseason. But so far in the regular season Turner has been producing some points! So Far Turner is a Point-Per-Game player while also leading forwards in Shots Blocked!
Offensive D-Man
Though Le-Bel doesn’t take many shots, the ones he does take often go in! Le Bel leads the league in Shot% with over a quarter of Le Bel’s shots making it to the back of the net!
Playmaker
Rowan O’Beirne definitely gets this one! As stated before O’Beirne leads the league in assists and is a valuable asset on the first line!
The Goaltender
Ally Mathieson is the starting goalie for Regina and has been great so far this season. Ally has a .916 Save percentage and already has a shutout under his belt!

Conclusion
The Elks are having a great season so far and are looking for that to continue! I could see Bayle topping the score sheet in the SMJHL this year along with Rowan O’Beirne topping the points! I think (In my definitely unbiased opinion) the Elks could be a dangerous sleeper in the postseason this year.
