The Colorado Raptors finished the season with a 27-35-4 record for 58 total points finishing 4th in the Tamper Town Division. How did Colorado start this season and what players performed well.

The S73 SMJHL draft is where this all starts. The Colorado Raptors had 3rd overall, 17th overall, 31st overall, 39th overall, 41st overall, 45th overall, 59th overall, 73rd overall and 87th overall, let's see who they drafted.

With the 3rd overall pick Colorado selected forward Nick Kodiak, at 17th overall they selected defensemen Oranj Konhe, at 31st they selected forward Shadow Fenix, at 39th they selected goalie Tanner Pitts, 41st they selected defensemen Christopolees, 45th they picked forward Leonard Wood, 59th they selected forward Brandon Gilleyes which is me, 73rd they got forward Derek Kong and at 87th they passed and didn’t make a pick. These rookies have finished their rookie season and will now be the middle children basically.

The rookies did really well this season as Fenix picked up 32 goals and 39 assists for 71 points, the 6th round pick Kong got 14 goals and 41 assists for 55 points and Wood got 20 goals and 27 assists for 47 points to round out the top 3 points for Colorado’s rookies. Xavier Beausoleil led Colorado in points with 23 goals and 52 assists for 75 points, Jussi Mutou led Colorado in goals and 2nd in points with 35 goals and 38 assists for 73 points and Fenix was 3rd in points for Colorado with his 71 points. Liam Rodgers led Colorado’s defense in points with 17 goals and 28 assists for 45 points. We can’t just forget about the goalies, Tanner Pitts played 56 games getting a record of 20-23-2, he also picked up a .885 save percentage and a 4.33 goals against average getting 2 shutouts. Peter Lasma played in 36 games getting a record of 7-12–2 while also getting a .073 save percentage and a 5.06 goals against average. The goalies were bad this season but next season will hopefully be a better season for the goalies and the team.

The Colorado Raptors did not finish last in the league though but they were pretty close. With Colorado's record of 27-35-4 for 58 points that put them 12th in the league and 10 points ahead of 13th and 14th place which had 48 points putting them at the bottom of the league. Colorado was 21 points behind 3rd in the Tamper Town division which means the Raptors were 21 points back from the last playoff spot.

Next season will be a very interesting season for Colorado going into a division with three teams meaning they will automatically be in the playoffs no matter how bad they are. They could not win a single game and still make the playoffs but we all know that wont happen. Who will be the star player next season? Who will have the most surprising season and what will Colorado do in the S74 SMJHL draft? We can find out all of that out in the next offseason/season.
