2. After a disappointing end to the season the Quebec City Citadelles are looking like a good pick for favourites heading into season 74. With the whole roster ( Other than Net Man ) returning, this team looks to continue the dominance from the season prior. The biggest strength is the return of the top line of Jeff Hunziker, Ryland Murphy, and Celeste "Special Deployment" Desjardins. This line cleaned up all of the scoring records in the J and even a few others in 73 and are returning with "uncapped" potential this year. The other strength of the roster is just how driven the team is with the whole team always being active and hyped for coming season. There is almost 0 slots on the roster that need to be filled with 1 spot available for defence, forward and goal. Obviously, the biggest question mark going into the season is going to be trying to replace Net Man. Luckily for whatever rookie goalie comes in, Quebec can outscore their problems. Besides the power house first line, The sophomore line of Shawn and the Valkaries, who was mainly relied on for stellar defensive play, look to continue on stellar 50-60pts rookie campaigns with even more increased fire power. Any goalie will also be happy to know Quebec boasts one of the leagues best shot blockers, Leo Roze, who's defensive play is underrated outside of the Quebec lockerroom as noted the egregious snub by the UCORCAL junior team. Besides Roze the defense also has all-around defensive specialist and take away machine John Patey and Face-off wizard and future defense scoring leader Abdi Smokes. [520 words] 5. Superlatives Jeff Hunziker- Most likely to Score - This dudes a machine. What else is there to say? Ryland Murphy- Best All-Around Player- Is he going to lay a devastating hit or send an elite saucer pass? Probably both at the same time. Shawn Pawn- Most likely to be open - No one knows how he does it, Is he a ghost? He is just always open. Sonja Solberg and Celeste Desjardins- Most likely to Lose in a fight against Juan Tymer - Don't know why or how they think they even have a chance. Froya Solberg- Most likely to be Future Captain- Who doesn't love froyo? Jaromir JagrBomb- Most likely to break QCC defense records- LSM watchout. Leo Roze- Most likely a goalie in disguise- it seems all he ever wants to do is block pucks. I've seen him pass to the opposition just to get another block. John Patey- Mr Steal Yo' Girl- good luck getting the puck past patey. Guy feasts on forwards poor puckhandling averaging +5 TA/GA. Abdi Smokes- Most likely actually a centre- If you thought a centre led QCCs FO% you'd be wrong. Lean On- Mr. anywhere- Need a center/winger? Check. Need a defencemen? check. Always a team player who excels wherever they are. [520 words] Total word count [1200+] Link to Milestones +3 TPE ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Member

https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid3438556 12. Stormlord Imotekh is a very polarizing individual. Given he's an alien robot from before hominids even existed, his acceptance into the league was tumultuous at best. Obviously his metal necrodermis offers him an advantage when it comes to checking players and injury repairs. He also insisted on bringing his scarab swarm along with him as a goalie, but this was decided as a bridge too far. As a stormlord, he's obviously very aggressive and takes no issue putting his body on the line for his teammates and for a win. Given the deep slumber he was put into tho, his offensive mind is lacking coherence at some points, and includes outright madness at other points. Teammates usually seem to find this amusing however, as his presence in the locker room has not turned away. In fact, Detroit exceeded expectations this year and made it to the second round losing only to the future champs. Most of them was active and engaged with everyone else, and the help regarding when/where to train was tremendous. Overall, he will definitely flourish as a defender on any team and seeks to ensure any fights are not an issue. Here's to a good season and an even deeper run into the playoffs! WC: 206, +4 TPE 14. As much as I'd love to work on my offense, I came into the league to be a defensive bruiser. So this offseason I intend to take the time to train as much as possible and invest the majority of whatever TPE I gain from here into defense. It's never fun losing, but even moreso when it seems like the losses are blowouts. I managed to be aggressive with minimal penalty minutes so I intend to keep that streak going. I was too focused on my +/- for the beginning part of the season, and now I'm just going to try and be the best defender on the spookiest team. WC: 109, +2 TPE 15. Given I played for Detroit this year, I thought it was important to look into local charities. Altho I always stand by Ronald McDonald House as it's national and a service I was offered before, I thought it would be important to show kids in the area they are cared about. Brilliant Detroit is a program that intend to take vacant houses in the middle of populated neighborhoods and turn them into community centers focused on getting children ready for kindergarten. I did a lot of community work in my younger years, and felt that community centers not only kept kids out off the streets, but it made every community feel interconnected and built relationships that lasted for years afterwards. Not to mention in these times not every parent can afford childcare, so having somewhere your child can be watched and have it come from a non-profit would be the best of both worlds. WC: 154, +3 TPE 16. My main goal was just a defensive bruiser. So really I don't have individual goals. I would love to break records but I feel those tend to be more much based. Instead, I actually want to use the SHL to work on my graphics. My player render is a Necron and relatively difficult to just put a jersey on, so that should be an interesting idea for me to do in the future. I literally just started on graphics during this season, and was able to crank one out for my player with just a logo and red background. Next would definitely be the Jersey one, but I wanted to try that out for my majors team so I can work with different colors. I'm sure I'll still stay down so I'll have a season of stats to work with, but right now I want to ensure I'm not pushing myself into a certain area in regards to the tools available. WC: 161, +3 TPE 1. During our first game against STL we intend to drop our line of anti-St Louis gear. Obviously the crossed out scarecrow is a best seller, but we found smashed tomatoes and "Rigid, not jiggly" shirts sold as direct counters to players on the opposing team. We really wanted to ensure the fans get involved into the rivalry. WC: 57, +1 TPE ![]() ![]() ![]() SMJHL GM Knights GM

Prompt 1
Stun Gun has ben asked to help create a commemorative item to give out to the loyal fans of the Armada, and he had some great ideas for what the best thing to give out would be. At first he wanted to give out a special taser, for obvious reasons, but unfortunately for obvious reasons management told him that he was gonna need to come up with an idea that wouldnt get the government to make some arrests. Stuns next idea was to give out a signed glove for everyone, however he was talked out of it after realizing how much work it would be to sign 10s of thousands of gloves and also the armada ownership was not willing to buy that many gloves. ultimately they decided that a special branded hockey puck with a picture of stun making a game winning save to be the best course of action, and everyone ended up being very satisfied with that. Code: Word count: 160 +3 Prompt 3 the anchorage armada unfortunately fell short in the playoffs this year, and much earlier than anyone expected from them by losing to a much worse great falls grizzlies. the armada have looked to stun gun to help them figure out a new way to gain an edge, while not necessarily doing something different training wise. Stuns first step was to take a look at the facilities and seeing what could be done different and what should be changed around the facility. the first thing he asked was for all light bulbs in the locker room, cafeteria and training rooms to be changed from cool lighting to warm. while cool lights are fun and great for modern workplaces, stun feels that the homey feelings encouraged by warm lighting will improve the vibes of the players and help them feel better, which will in turn improve their ability to work hard. the next step stun had was to repaint the whole building into a new color. stun felt that the team got too complacent during the playoffs, which is why making a huge shakeup and changing the look of the building would really get the teams attention and make people think twice about getting too comfortable. Code: word count: 204 +4 Prompt 14 While many players may spend the offseason kicking their feet up and relaxing, going on vacation and overall just having a chill time. Well, Stun Gun has decided that this offseason, he will be doing the best vacation tour he possibly can. He saved all his money from his game checks and sponsorships and has planned an incredible trip with 30 locations to be hit in 90 days. if it sounds like a lot, it is. stun will be doing lots of flying, lots of staying at hotels, lots of packing and airport customs and basically everything stressful like that. however he thinks itll be worth it to be able to see so many sights, go to parties, see historical landmarks and explore the world in a way he never thought he would before and have a good time across the world before he heads back to Anchorage for the start of the new season. Code: Word count: 155 +3 Prompt 15 Stun Gun helps at an organization in anchorage to help out the homeless and homeless families with finding temporary housing, giving them warm clothing, food and water and generally improving their livelihoods during times of struggle. this cause means a lot to stun which is why he helped fund the organization significantly, and he regularly spends time there helping to make food and bringing stuff for the people there, usually paying out of his pocket, which he had no problem doing. when he wasnt able to be there, he would send over cash to make sure the organization could upgrade the house and overall continue doing what theyre doing. Code: Word count: 109 +2 Prompt 16 My goal for stun gun is to definitely win some kind of cup. it is not a goal of mine that is super super critical to me but it would be nice to win something in this league. i would love to get a trophy with both anchorage and now los angeles. 12. On the Radar
Write a pre-draft scout report on your player from the perspective of a journalist covering the prospects of the S73 SHL draft class. What do possible SHL suitors have to be excited (or perhaps wary?) about when it comes to potentially drafting your player? SHL DAILY - YOUR HOCKEY DRAFT NEWS PROVIDER By chance, our report discovered a scouting report, discarded by an unknown SHL scout earlier today. This was tossed away in anger at the games he was forced to watch and this report was never supposed to see the light of day. However, as an unbiased news source, we find it important to share the SHL’s view on the Raptors Goalie Tanner Pitts. While we at SHL Daily do not take joy in showcasing a Junior goaltenders struggles, this report should be used to develop oneself. During his rookie season in the Junior league, Tanner Pitts was named as the Raptors starting goalie, playing 65% of the starts. With high expectations from around the league, the young goalie from Tampere didn’t seem to thrive under the pressure as a potential S74 prospect would like too. Pitts displayed highs and lows between the pipes and became a cause for concern within the Raptors community. While Raptor fans had high hopes for the young goaltender from Tampere, they were overall disappointed with his season's performance. In 56 games, Tanner was 20-23-2, with a GAA of 4.33 and a SV% of 0.885. This was not the showing that the team had hoped for. While no one will doubt that Pitts acted as a workhorse, shouldering most of the starts, his poor showings had most scouts wondering if he can find any success in the SHL. A few key takeaways from this scouting report. SHL clubs appear to worry about Pitts' ability to string wins together. Before joining the SMJHL Tanner had shown teams an ability to play at a high level consistently. However this past season has caused concern about the translation of his skills to the pro leagues. He remains seemingly unable to perform in high-pressure situations; which will cause many teams to pass on him in the draft. Tanner Pitts will need to focus on addressing the list of concerns SHL GM’s have raised if he wants any chance of making the pro league. This offseason Pitts will need to focus on refining his skills and finding the confidence that he had in his earlier career before the SMJHL. Teams eyeing Pitts in the draft will be watching closely for his response to these huge setbacks. An elevation to his game is clearly required to play at the professional level. While Pitts may slip in the draft standings after this season, the potential his player has may bolster a teams confidence to trade up in the middle rounds and take the risk on this young Finn. Scouting Report: SHL Draft Prospect - Tanner Colpitts
Position: Goaltender
Current SMJHL Team: Colorado Raptors
Height: 6’4” | Weight: 200lbs
Strengths:
Areas for Improvement:
Tanner Pitts is a high risk high reward prospect that most teams should hesitate to draft in the early rounds. Any team that does draft him risks the potential of having a rookie goaltender that can't play meaningful games. On the other hand, Tanner Pitts could become one of the most underrated goalies of the S74 draft class. If developed properly, his mental fortitude and positional awareness could make him a top prospect. A sports psychologist may help him play through the nerves he feels and help with his consistency. While there are areas for growth, the potential for Pitts to evolve into a standout goaltender in the SHL is evident. We are eager to see how Tanner adapts to the professional level though I remain skeptical. Tanner has a low floor and a high ceiling that is worrisome. In my professional opinion we should aim for a safer goaltender bet in the draft that we know can play meaningful minutes for our team. If Tanner is available at the end of the draft we can consider the long shot to draft him but we should not prioritize this player. Total Words: 1012 (16 TPE) ![]() Registered Member

1. Fan Appreciation Day Wow it is such an honor to be selected to run the fan appreciation day. So, after much thought and planning with the organization and the team. I thought it would be cool to have a 16x20 poster made up with the entire Maine Timber team and Coaches standing along each other with the Arena as the background. And after talking to the team, they agreed to sign it. It would be in a nice, laminated picture frame. We would wait till the very last home game to hand them out as a thank you for coming out and supporting the team. 102 words – 2 TPE 12. On the Radar Pre-Draft Scouting Report Dwayne Swanson From: New Smyrna, USA Height: 6ft 3in Weight: 215Lbs Position: Left Wing/ Right Wing Swanson showed promise in his first season with the Timbers. He showed great durability and stamina playing in all 66 games. He was 5th on his team with 31 goals and 6th in the team with 60 points. Swanson was tied for best on team in shot percentages at 16.7%. HE also got his far amount of hits in at 182. Overall Swanson is looking like a promising prospect with great offensive firepower contributing to both even strength and power play situations. He shows the ability to adapt to the team’s needs. After struggling a bit at Left Wing, he was moved to right wing where he started to show his skill and improved. Swanson still needs improvement on defense. Had the team low in blocked shots at 26. And only winning 26.1% of his faceoffs (5-25). With some more time Swanson can become a very solid player for a team. Swanson tends to be the quite voice in the locker room but is always around when needed. Realizing he might be too quiet he is attempting to be more vocal. He currently holds a GM job coaching Sweden in the WJC. He hopes to one day GM a team in the SHL. Or a meaningful job. Swanson is working on becoming a max earner or close to it. Always checking in and training. A team the drafts him will be getting a hard worker and a dedicated user. 258 words – 5 TPE 14. R&R Man, what a crazy rookie season it’s been, after being drafted to the Maine Timbers I wasn’t sure what to expect. I started off a little rough but, in the end, we came aways with the CUP!!! And now a much-needed break, I don’t have a hole lot planned this offseason. My wife is trying to plan some kind of family vacation. Talking about wilderness adventure out in Alaska, I’m tired of being cold. This Florida boy wants to stay somewhere warm. But after finding out I got drafted to Toronto I guess it would help me get used to the cold. So as goes life and the loving husband I am I agreed, and we packed the family up and went to Alaska and I have to say that was one of the coolest trips I have ever taken. But now the fun ends and we begin training for the next season. 153 words – 3 TPE 16. Goals At first, I wasn’t really sure what kind of goals I wanted to set for my self at first but know after winner the Championship with Maine Timber. I now want to look to the future and hopeful that I will be able to bring one the an SHL team in the new future maybe even couple. 57 words – 1 TPE 18. Task 1:
The Anchorage Armada of the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League have had a really good season. They finished with the third best record in the league at 42 wins and 24 losses. This offseason they have been running through the numbers and figuring out all the promotion nights. They have decided to let Meo create his own item to be given away this year. It was an honor to be selected to design the promotional item. Meo spent a lot of time thinking what would be a cool item and it hit him one night while taking a bath. He decided it would be a foam boat hat. It would be like a foam finger but it will be a hat and be a boat for the Armada. they will hand these out to the first three thousands fans in attendance on the last home game of the season. It will be one hell of a night and lets just hope there is at least one hat trick to see the boats float! Quote:173 Words (3 TPE) Task 3 The Armada are hungry for a much deeper run next year and that will all begin with a much more dedicated and sophisticated workout regime. The offseason will really go by fast so the time needs to be well spent. The team will have a few weeks off for family and leisure time but after that its back to the grind to win it all. The team will start a 6 day work week. the week will be as follows: Monday will be for chest and triceps workouts. Tuesday will be for Cardio and flexibility. Wednesday is for back and core workouts. Thursday the team will go through comprehensive leg workouts. The last day of heavy lifting will be shoulders and flexibility. There is some serious work being put in this offseason and the Armada really want to put the next step going into this next season. It will be a very exciting season and hopefully one with some records. Quote:160 words (3 TPE) Task 12 It is that time of year again, the Simulation Hockey League Draft! We have a huge amount of very talented and skilled players in this years draft. It has to be one of the most deep and talented I have ever seen. There is one player we just have to highlight this year. Meo Vanbiesbrouck is one of the top goalies in this years draft. He was picked up as a free agent a little after the Simulation Major Junior League Draft. He was picked up by the Anchorage Armada and took over the role of back up goaltender behind Stun Gun. Meo has all the talent to start in the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League but imagine having the top two goalies on the same team. Meo comes with all the intangibles that make up a all star goalie. He looks to have the size and flexibility to go along with the great reflexes and impeccable positioning. He had every tool needed to be a All Star maybe even a Hall of Famer in this league. He will be looking to go somewhere in the second or third rounds this draft. He would even be considered higher if the draft pool was not so high and a very small need for goalies on the big league teams. Quote:218 Words (4 TPE) Task 15 Well, there are a lot of things Meo likes to take a stand for. The biggest is Stand up for Cancer. There has been some real tragedy and heartbreak in Meo's life form cancer and this cause means a lot for him. Every off season, Meo heads back to Minnesota to get some good rest and relaxation. There is an event that means a lot to him while in the off season, that's the Stand Up for Cancer Festival in his home town. Each year Meo puts on a festival with bands, rides, and attractions that help raise money for Cancer research. He also has his own booth where he signs autographs and lets people take their best shot at scoring on him on goal. All money goes to the Stand Up for Cancer foundation. This has been a really big event for Meo and it really means a lot to him. Quote:151 Words (3 TPE) Task 16 I have thought a lot about this in the last few weeks while creating my player and going through the Simulation Junior Hockey League season. I really want to see if I can make at least one All Star game and really high hopes here but also make it in the Hall of Fame. It would be a really big honor and would mean a lot to give back to the Tampa Bay team who draft my first player and he didn't see a championship or All Star. I also would like to pick up a site job maybe even a General Manager position but with me already being a general manager in the Pro Baseball Experience I would need to see if I can manage both or which one I would pick. It is a lot of work but I really do like the general manager position. I will keep up with Dwight in Tampa Bay and maybe help scout and stuff until things become easier to see how I can manage. It was fan appreciation day in Maine for our final home game of the season. It was a sellout! We gave away bobble heads of Maine's top stars! Everyone loved them! We even had leftovers so, I got to keep one of the bobble heads! It was soo cool! Even better: We won, 6-3! Our fans enjoyed it sooo much!

15. Charity Drive
Lucki Blackwood, a revered forward for the city's renowned hockey team, the Armada, dedicated his time and efforts to support the annual "Pucks for Progress" charity gala. The event was organized to raise funds for various community initiatives, including providing sports equipment for disadvantaged youth and supporting local education programs. Lucki took center stage at the gala, engaging with attendees, sponsors, and beneficiaries alike. He participated in an interactive skills session, guiding enthusiastic youngsters through drills and showcasing his on-ice finesse. His infectious energy and genuine enthusiasm inspired both the children and the audience, emphasizing the importance of determination and teamwork both in hockey and in life. Beyond the on-ice activities, Lucki actively participated in the gala's auction, offering exclusive experiences like a day of training with him and other Stormbreakers players. Additionally, he generously donated autographed jerseys, sticks, and memorabilia, encouraging bidders to contribute to the charitable cause. The "Pucks for Progress" gala wasn't merely a glamorous affair; it was a testament to the community's spirit and unity. Lucki's presence and dedication underscored the significance of supporting initiatives that uplifted the less privileged, particularly through the transformative power of sports. Lucki's commitment to the cause extended beyond the event. He continued to champion various community-based programs, advocating for the importance of access to sports and education for all. His actions resonated deeply, sparking enthusiasm among fellow athletes and encouraging them to follow suit, fostering a culture of giving back within the sports community. Thanks to the overwhelming support from attendees and Lucki's active involvement, the "Pucks for Progress" gala exceeded its fundraising goals. The contributions helped numerous children access sports equipment, coaching, and educational resources, offering them opportunities that were previously beyond their reach. Lucki Blackwood's unwavering dedication to philanthropy showcased the immense impact professional athletes can have beyond their performances on the ice. His commitment to making a difference serves as an inspiration, leaving a lasting legacy of generosity and compassion within the community. (wc = 326) 13. Superstitious In the SHL, much like in various sports leagues, there are indeed superstitions that players and teams may adhere to during the playoffs. These superstitions can vary among individuals or teams, often stemming from tradition, anecdotal evidence, or historical events. Some common superstitions in hockey playoffs might include: Playoff Beards: Players often grow out their beards during the playoffs and avoid shaving until their team is eliminated or wins the championship. It's believed to bring good luck or team unity. Not Touching the Trophy: Similar to the NHL superstition you mentioned, some players or teams in various leagues may avoid touching the championship trophy until they win the final trophy (like the Stanley Cup). There's a belief that touching it prematurely brings bad luck. Specific Routines: Players might have specific pre-game rituals or routines they follow during the playoffs, like wearing the same socks or taping their sticks in a certain way. Deviating from these routines could be seen as disrupting luck. Whether you believe in these superstitions, largely depends on your personal beliefs and experiences. Some athletes are highly superstitious and may rigorously adhere to these rituals or beliefs, while others might not put much stock in superstitions and focus solely on their performance. Your belief in these superstitions could be influenced by various factors: Team Culture: If their team heavily emphasizes certain superstitions or rituals, your player might conform to these beliefs to align with team culture and foster camaraderie. Personal Experience: If your player has had experiences where following a superstition seemed to coincide with success or failure, they might be more inclined to believe in it. Rationality: Some players might approach superstitions skeptically, relying more on preparation, skill, and strategy rather than attributing outcomes to superstitions or rituals. Ultimately, you can decide whether you believe in these superstitions based on team history, team culture, and personal inclinations. (wc = 310) 1. Fan Appreciation Day The Carolina Kraken have a rich history of braiding hair during games. The Kraken have decided to give out hand braided wigs at one of their home games this season so that the fans can match the players. The braiding will be done by the Krakens own Betzee and will feature several different styles that are commonly seen on the Kraken players. Popular styles such as French braids, box braids, Dutch braids, and even crown braids will be randomly given out during the game. Every fan in attendance will go home with a special Kraken braided wig. The wigs will be given out in the first game against the Quebec City Citadelles in a stunt called a braid out. Nothing is more intimidating than seeing a whole fanbase united in hair braids and ready for battle. This will hopefully be enough to push the Kraken over the top and guarantee a win against a fearful Quebec City Citadelles. WORD COUNT: 158 Code: 2. Looking Towards the Future The Carolina Kraken are a fairly well rounded and young team that will mostly stay intact going into next season. We have a good mixture of forwards and defense along with a strong second year goaltender with a veteran backup. I would say that going forward in the draft the Kraken will likely need to look for more scoring depth and quality prospects to protect the roster from unexpected call ups. Losing a 425 TPE player unexpectedly can be devastating to a rosters cup chances when their core has been together from the start. Other than looking for a few depth pieces, the Kraken roster seems to be built with relative stability and will hopefully be competing for a cup over the next few seasons until it is time to reload and start over. Overall the Carolina Kraken seem to be in a great place currently and this roster will hopefully continue to thrive and get stronger together. WORD COUNT: 158 Code: 7. Winner Winner Chicken I would say that the most likely team to win the Four Star Cup is the Maine Timber. They have a very strong roster overall from top to bottom. A solid offensive core than is complemented by a strong defense. The only question is about their goaltending. With Gwemba Stolemamoney being a rookie goalie between the pipes it's a real question of how that player will handle the higher pressure situations that are present in the playoffs. If Gwemba Stolemamoney were to get hot and play lights out then the Timber should have no problems hoisting a Four Star Cup at the end of the playoffs. WORD COUNT: 106 Code: 16. Goals With Denebor Milasch I am mainly trying to explore the goaltender space in Franchise Hockey Manager Eight. I have been warned many times that goalies are in a weird spot due to crazy high league wide scoring, but I am not interested in personal stats. I am more interested in trying to build the best possible goalie for this engine. Does that mean I need to stat gouge certain things and ignore others or could it be that an all around goalie gets the job done? I am not really sure what the correct answer is, but I wanted to play a goalie on my first go around and let people talk me out of it. This time around I am going to play what I want to play and try to be the best player I can. Outside of what I want to accomplish with my player, as a user I am looking to churn out quality written content over the course of my career. I do not have much interest in a site job and will have to earn my money in other ways such as writing or scouting. Overall I play this mostly as a creative outlet and less as a power gaming experience. I am more willing to let TPE slide if it isn’t a topic I want to cover and as a goaltender with less total stats that play style is more forgiving. I do not have a master plan on this go around, I am just trying to take it slowly and enjoy my time on this site and with this community. WORD COUNT: 268 Code: 18. 1. Since the beginning of fandoms there has been fan appreciation events and these events are always the same free trinkets, discount concessions, maybe some autographs. Well no longer is fan appreciation limited to small giveaways and trinkets. Now with new VR suits fans can literally take on the role of their favourite players. That’s right, 15 lucky fans will get the chance to put on a new augmented reality suit that will let them literally step into the shoes of their favourite player. They will watch the game not from the front rows or even the bench but from literally behind their favourite player's eyes using our new VR headsets they will see exactly what the player sees when they see it. The VR suits will allow them to feel every pass blocked shot and bone crushing hit in exactly the same way their chosen player experiences it and if that’s not enough they will be directly connecting to their favourite player via an earpiece. That’s right they will no longer need to yell shoot into the void hoping their player hears them they can now shout shoot directly into the players ear as they play. The experience of bringing fans closer to the action is sure to excite even the most casual fan.

![]() Registered Posting Freak Code: 1. Fan Appreciation Day The Kelowna Knights hosted a fan appreciation day on the last day of their regular season schedule against the Nevada Battleborn. While most teams will give out a towel, bobblehead, maybe even a hat, Kelowna owners and management busted out the big bucks for the fans who have stood loyally by their team throughout the season. Each attending fan received one full replica steel sword. Of course, the blades legally had to be dulled (damn bureaucrats). Now we don't need to get into the nitty gritty details about how rough security had it this game, that's another story for another time, but needless to say fans went home with a memorable experience that night. WC: 114 - 2 TPE Code: 2. Looking Towards the Future I'm going to be honest, there's not a position that Kelowna doesn't need help with. While technically the team finished 2nd to last, they were tied with Great Falls Grizzlies at 48 points, dead last in the league. To make matters worse, the draft happened last night and Kelowna didn't have a single first round pick. With their 16th overall pick though, you can't go wrong with a strong center. Kelowna drafted Come O'Dirga. Now of course I don't expect them to make a huge presence right away, but you have to start somewhere. And with a strong center, you'll need a good defense to back them up. With their 2nd round draft pick, Kelowna selected Journey Man who looks like they may be focusing on the defensive side of things instead of the popular offensive defenseman build. Wanting to really build that center core, Kelowna then selected another center, Blant Chorski. Will these additions bring the team back to the glory Kelowna used to be? Doubtful for next season, but as each season passes, these drafts will become more present and become the face of the team. Going into my second year with the Knights, I'm excited to grow with them and see where we go. WC: 207 - 4 TPE Code: 3. Secret Plans Kelowna prefers to play mind games on the other team. On the ice there will be no cheating or coy tricks or anything of that sort. Instead, when the opposing teams head to their locker rooms, they find an old medieval style torture dungeon. There's hay on the stone floors, the only lighting is from candles and torches. Instead of locker rooms they have iron maidens they have to sit in front of (better not lean back to get comfy!). Some teams seem to disagree with these tactics, but there's nothing in the rulebook saying teams can't design their opposing locker rooms how they see fit. WC: 107 - 2 TPE Code: 6. Team History Kelowna unfortunately has had quite the rough history. While I am not the team's archivist, I did some digging through past history standings and Kelowna has been mid-standings to lower-standings for an overwhelming majority of their past 20ish seasons. There was a small time period around the late season 50's where Kelowna found themselves at the top, or in the top 5, but then right before that back to the bottom of the barrel. You've gotta think that things will turn around eventually. It's not an easy job completely rebuilding a team when you're consistently mid-standings, getting those late draft picks, but I'm still proud of the team and management alike. We'll see what next season brings us. WC: 118 - 2 TPE Code: 7. Winner Winner Chicken Well, seeing as how the champions have already been crowned, unless I'm living in some weird alternate universe timeline as I write this, I think it's safe to say that the Maine Timber will win the Four Star Cup! It's funny, in my first player when I was in the SMJHL, Maine was in the position Kelowna was in now. They were constantly bottom of the league. It's great to see how far they've come since then. While I don't know the team inside and out, looking at their team, their top line is lethal. You have a center, left wing, and right wing that all were more than point per game. It is near impossible to shut down a line like that. Even their defense is incredibly solid. It doesn't look like they have any point per game defensemen, but still, their leader with 48 points is nothing to scoff at. And while they may not be scoring crazy points, their clearly shutting down the opposing team. WC: 168 - 3 TPE Code: 9. What's in a Name? Player names in the SHL are sometimes some of the funniest things that will never fail to get a laugh out of me. Even my current player, Paul Bondage, came just from a stupid nickname that happened in ATL. Trying to be more realistic, my first create, Paul Binder, was the result of me just looking for common Austrian last names that I could easily pronounce. This slowly turned into his nickname being "Paul Bondage" when we would watch sims in ATL. Low and behold, it seemed obvious that Paul Bondage would be the name of my next player. The other day while I was on a break from work, just scrolling through some of my discord servers, I noticed in ANC there was a player named Cheeks Klapanen and I couldn't stop giggling. The fact that they made such a meme name also spelled just like a Finnish last name got me good. WC: 154 - 3 TPE ![]() |
