6 different cup winners the last 6 seasons. 8 over the last 9.
My hat being said I do feel your sentiment. The west has been stagnant up until EDM bought a lot and came along because WPG has been the best team in the west for the past 4 seasons. But that’s also because the other good teams in the west were going through a middle phase where through one way or another couple compete

the east certainly retains the top teams more. But imo we also have a lot of the best gms in the league.

NEW, PHI, BUF, ATL all sustained growth one way or another. Either drafting super well or by trading super well.

And the rebuilding teams went through a lot of failed rebuilds/very long rebuilds (TBB, HAM to an extent had a long rebuild but now is good)

Then you have 2 teams that started to come out of a rebuild one way or another and collapsed (MAN, TOR)

Then the ones who are rebuilt the “right way” which is BAP

Then MTL who had their peaks before blowing it up
