Allow unit tactics again

Been thinking and talking following the recent punishment. If I recall correctly, lines and unit tactics were banned back in the fay because some teams with more sim testing knowledge, tools and manpower were getting just too much of an advantage over teams that didn't have any of that and struggled to even run tests on variations of their global tactics. It was controversial enough back then, but now that sim-testing is banned anyways, I don't see why GMs shouldn't be allowed to mess around with unit and even individual tactics again.

Big supporter of this. Unit tactics add vairety to the league, and help players become what they actually want to be. Helos make the league more unique.

Have had a conversation about this in past month or so and think that something along the lines of allowing at least PP, PK and maybe one line to use unit tactics could increase variety of play styles that are considered viable. But I also get that it adds some complexity back to the coaching which might not be ideal if there is any struggles to fill management positions with current rule set.

If you wanted to have your Line 1 be an aggressive forechecking line, and say Line 2 a offensive scoring machine you can. It also allows each line to fit into their own tactics across the ice, since the same tactics won't fit for all the players on the roster. : DeMaricus Smyth Award Nomination

I have long been a proponent of Unit based tactics as my favourite part about management is coaching. I believe there is a balance wherein Global only is to broad and individual is too much into the detail to be new GM friendly as the SHL aims to be.

I'd also be a big fan of bringing unit and/or player tactics back. It's always a challenge trying to navigate special teams when the "ideal" settings for PP and PK are nearly opposite each other. The increased flexibility also dramatically increases the number of viable builds since GMs can create tactics around unique players instead of needing players to mold their builds to fit the tactics.

What, you mean seeing the same tactics being hamfisted into the sim engine by two thirds of the league is not entertaining to you? smh my head.
(FWIW, I would love to see unit tactics implemented again. I would also love to see player archetypes being limited to a player's choice of three, but that's another debate in and of itself.)

SMJHL HO PEANUT!
I can support this primarily for the PP/PK units as they are supposed to jive differently from global settings.
I’ve been vocal about this before in both HO’s
