SHL75: #43 Flacko Lagerfield
#1

Flacko Lagerfield
@JSS

The 1st OA pick of the S41 draft lands at #43 in the top 75. Staying briefly in Buffalo, after getting called up in S43. Lagerfields career wont stop at Buffalo. Getting dealt in the S44 offseason, as the user behind Flacko became the new GM of the Seattle Riot. Flacko went along with him in a 3 team trade with HAM,BUF, and SEA. That is where the career of Flacko really took off.

After being a 3rd and 2nd line winger on buffalo, Flacko quickly became a 1st line player in Seattle, as they were navigating a rebuild after the previous GM blew up the team. But thats where Flacko thrived, with 44 points in his 3rd season (S55).  That season he won the Aidan Richan(breakout player) award. Cementing himself of at least one trophy win, and a start to a promising career.

As Tampa started to get better, Flacko has also continued to thrive on that 1st line winger spot. Gathering his first over a PPG game in S46, receiving him a 3rd team All Star. Then, this first MVP level season happened in S48. Leading the league in points, securing himself his first Ron Mexico win, Sarmad Khan win, Sergei Karpotsov award for most points, and 1st All star team. For Flacko everything was coming together. He led Tampa Bay to the presidents trophy, but sadly losing in 7 games to the Buffalo Stampede in round 1 of the playoffs.

But he continued, putting up a modest amount of points in STHS, playing at an elite level, leading his team in points for almost his whole time there, but never back to that MVP level oif S48. Collecting just a 2nd All Star team in S49. Behind the player, JSS the user has also felt the burnout, and lost interest in GMing. Maybe it was getting reversed swept in the S50 finals to Calgary, or just being the GM for 7 seasons, but JSS had this to say

“Now an update about Lagerfield, I will be extending with Tampa this off season with a HTD no matter who the GM is. I'll also likely be ending my career with Tampa unless a rebuild for some reason is needed and the GM of the team wants assests than I am more than willing to be traded but I'd rather end it with Tampa. I am obviously inactive with the player as I have not updated him in quite some time, I will probably update when regression comes out just to combat it but as for the future with him, I don't think I'll be updating him that much more. I'm pretty burnt out for now and I don't know if it's cause I'm over STHS and the whole thing that happened last season or if it's cause I'm just over with this current player arch and I just want to start a new one with a new player. Chances are I'm going to retire him next off season or the off season after that depending on how much TPE he has.”

And the new GM did just that, sending Flacko to Hamilton. But this isnt where the Flacko Lagerfield story ends. He didnt just retire his player, his player had a second revival in Hamilton. In S52, his first season in Hamilton, he became a point per game player again in the final season of STHS. Getting his 2nd career 2nd All Star team.

Then the switch to FHM happened. And Flacko became one of the first danglers in FHM history. And with that, cementing himself on this list. In the first 2 seasons of FHM, had 71 and 84 points. With that came x2 1st All Star teams, 1 Challenge Cup, 1 Jay McDonald Win, x2 Sergei Karpotsov Wins, x2 Sarmad Khan Wins, x1 Ron Mexico Win, x1 Ron Mexico nom. No matter what happens, he was the first player in FHM to lead the league in points, to set the meta of having a dangler that persists to this day.
The first FHM star.

From my perspective as an S53, Lagerfield was a huge star when I joined. Best player in the league in 2 different eras and multiple seasons with the trophies to prove it. I understand the longevity and Hamilton concerns but to me he feels like one that burned brightest.

I can see it that way. I promise the forwards ahead of him on the list are well deserving too. Over the 75 seasons there has been dominant performances from a lot of players
