It is mid-way through S75, the all-star committee stirs from it's extended off season hibernation. We are back for another edition of the SHL/SMJHL All-Star festivities. The league is old, coming in to season 75, some teams are just as old, we may have to put some of them in a retirement home soon.

This year, the host city came down between the Toronto North Stars and the Hamilton Steelhawks, a good ol' battle of the QEW (highway connecting the 2 cities for those not from the Hammer or Trono). It was a close vote, however due to scheduling conflicts with a Taylor Swift concert, one of the teams had to drop out. 

Your host for the S75 All-Star Game is..........

HAMILTON STEELHAWKS 

Fun fact, Hamilton is not named after Lewis Hamilton of F1 fame, or Alexander Hamilton of revolution fame. The city is named after some rich Scottish guy named George Hamilton. We can all take a fieldtrip to visit his grave site at the Hamilton Cemetery.

As is tradition, the host GMs (@Hallsy & @aleks) will be hosting a GM sleepover party at the Copps Coliseum. Don't forget your sleeping bags, BYOB, and there will be games (like but not limited to) steel production, zamboni drag racing, tamper role-playing, and much more!


The All-Star game is not complete without a new set of sweet logos...

 All-Star Logo Contest 

Here are the requirements :

The logo submissions include two (2) variations: One (1) for SHL and one (1) for the SMJHL.
The logo must be the same in every other way except for the league abbreviation.
While not necessary, we strongly recommend incorporating the host team's colors and overall theme into the logo (HAM team info can be found here)
You can find a few examples of recent winning logos at the bottom this post.

The committee will vote on the logo submissions and the total of the votes will determine the winner(s). In case of any tie, the committee from the host team will have the tiebreaker. If the tie persists, the committee head will select the winner of the tie.

The money prizes for this contest are as follow :
$4,000,000 for 1st place, $2,000,000 for 2nd place if the contest receives less than 5 submissions
$6,000,000 for 1st place, $3,000,000 for 2nd place, and $1,000,000 for 3rd place if the contest receives 5+ submissions

The logo contest for this season's All-Star Game opens now and will close on Sunday, March 17th @ 11:59pm EST.
