Salming played in SMJHL playoffs in his debut season as a rookie. He does not remember a lot from those games because he was so young then and played in the 4th line. But he loved the cool setup and atmosphere.

My first time in the SHL playoffs was in S15. I was playing in Kelowna that season but had been drafted the year before to the Edmonton Blizzard. When Kelowna was knocked out of the J playoffs, I was called up to Edmonton to play on the 4th line for the playoffs. I didn't get any points and barely got any icetime but I still played, and the Blizzard won the Cup so I got my first ring before I'd played a regular season game!

I initially was drafted to the Anaheim Outlaws with Emilia Bergman - my first experience with the playoffs were a little subdued because I think it was my first season and I didn't really know what was going on. Nyko told me we were good but I don't see a Four Star Trophy, smh

Oh man my first playoffs was a heartbreaker. Up 3-0 in the semifinals only to blow it and lose it in 7. Haven't sniffed being that close to the finals since then.

The first experience in the playoffs for Anthony Dionne was with the St Louis Scarecrows in the SMJHL. It was my first season in the league and we won the first serie 4-0 against Great Falls. I got 5 wins and 3 defeat in 8 games. We lost in the second round against Québec, the first time of three in a row...

it took me a ridiculously long time in the league to make the playoffs. It was 8 seasons in the league before I got any postseason action, and that was a fairly deep run with the Toronto North Stars. On an individual basis, it wasn't my best playoffs and I didn't really do that well. A couple seasons later I'd go on to win my first cup though which is nice!

My player's first SMJHL playoff experience (minus the DFA season) was a 7 game loss to QCC in round 1. Little did I know that I would end up losing a 7 game series the next two years too and losing to QCC in 7 two times as a GM in 66 and 67.

First time making the playoffs as a Maine Timber and we lost to NewFoundland in the finals, only to be beaten them by NewFoundland for the next 3 season. It was a dark time

Honestly, it has been such a long time that I’m not sure I can even remember my first playoff experience. I was on the Montreal Impact (lol) of the NWJHL (even more lol) and I think we were in the playoffs but I can’t be sure.

Last season the Whalers found themselves with a first round exit but I got my first starts then. This season we don’t look to secure a spot and Masked Stanger has been experiencing minutes in the backup role. Hopefully next season with a capped build the Whalers can make another run. Whalers

My first SMJHL playoffs are probably the most memorable. It was with St. Louis and we traded for a defenseman at the deadline to bolster the squad. We ended up winning and Joe K got a minors ring before making the jump to majors GMing!

Still haven't experienced the SHL playoffs to this point in my early career, but the SMJHL playoffs are somewhat familiar to me. It was always a blast in Nevada as I think we had the right attitude around celebrating our accomplishments without getting too tied up in wins and losses. You have so little control beyond just keeping yourself active in sim leagues that it's fun to just let it go, sit back, and enjoy the shitposting with friends.

My first experience with playoffs was against the Kraken. My buddy I recruited was the goalie and we had in game rivalry that we created. It was fun, but wee got swept in the first round…

Jarrod Lakemore's first SHL playoff experience was indeed quite memorable. Opening up the first two rounds with sweeps against higher seeded teams enroute to a championship, it is an incredible way to start a SHL career.

My first year in the J was rough from a standings perspective. We went almost two weeks with only a single win. In the end we missed the playoffs by 2 points. Next year’s playoffs felt long overdue and it was thrilling to get a round 1 victory. We got swept by the eventual champs in round 2, but it was still a good first experience!
