First playoffs are exciting! unless you get bounced early like my first player did a number of times before we finally got on a couple runs.

The first time I was in the playoffs it was with the st louis scarecrows. Pretty sure we won but who remembers. Anyway I won another time with them and coined the term "Scarecrow Noises".

My first time in the playoffs was back in the SMJHL in what was the S42 season before his SHL draft year. Alex Winters and the Colorado Raptors would lose to the Montreal Militia, but it would set the stage for 2 seasons later when he would win the 4 Star Cup with the St. Louis Scarecrows and eventually the Challenge Cup with the Manhattan Rage.

My first player didn't really make the playoffs a ton in the SHL (Fuck the Great Lakes!), but the first time we did in my time in Toronto was in S58. We expected to beat SFP handily in Round 1, and then they slapped us around a bit and gave us a reality check. We won in 7 games, and then thrashed MAN more appropriately in 5 games for Round 2. We knew the real test was going to start in Round 3. This was the height of dominance between Hamilton and Buffalo, and we pulled Buffalo.
Game 1, BUF ice. We kept it close on the scoreboard, but it was a combo of luck and trademark Carpy Magic. Then, we surprised ourselves and shut 'em out 0-4 in Game 2. Moving to home ice and Day 2 of sims, we felt good, but the adjustment came: Game 3 was a brutal 10-1 drubbing and Game 4 was a 3-2 slugfest. This was still the era of FHM testing, so I did as any unemployed 20-something with too much emotional investment in this league was doing, and stayed up all night running different ideas. Finally, I put together something that gave us a prayer at 7 AM, sent it to our GM, and went to sleep. The Noon sim and Game 5 came: 5-2, Toronto. Holy shit? I was still snoring, but my teammates were beginning to hope. Then 6 PM sim and Game 6 came. After a nail-biting, hair-raising, ulcer-inducing Game 6, the final score was 1-0 Toronto, and it was going to Game 7. My phone exploded. I woke up to the Discord chirps from tags in time for the 2nd period of Game 7 to much adulation and cheering and joy. We were holding our own, 2-1 in Game 7! I wish, in hindsight, that I had gone back to sleep. Start of the 3rd period, and there's the equalizer. It's okay! About 10 minutes into the 3rd, and we're back up! Less than 2 minutes to go, and it goes 3-3. It wasn't over yet! After a frustrating 3rd period, we're going into overtime! It's okay, we're still hopeful. If we were on a bench in person, we'd have been patting each other's shoulders, bolstering our spirits with tentative smiles and jubilant affirmations that we'd get there. It was crushed in less than 30 seconds. Final score, 4-3 Buffalo in overtime. We never made it back to Round 3. That's still the furthest I've gone as a starter.

My first playoff experience in the league was with my first player, for the St Louis Scarecrows. We had a rough season and were expected to get swept in the first round of the playoffs. We got through after 7 games and it was the most incredible atmosphere in the LR when we won, the Brits stayed up for game 7 and it was awesome.

I guess I can say that the first time I experienced playoffs would with my first actual player Jack Micro and the Anaheim Outlaws in the SMJHL, and we unfortunately I'm pretty sure we ended up losing but I am not completely sure, it was a long time ago.

The first time I experienced the playoffs it was as a DFA with the Falcons way back in the late 50s, and if I remember correctly we made it to and lost the final

It was a while ago so I am not sure I have any specific memories of it. I don't think we won a title that year and obviously that only really motivated me more to come back and do better.

I am pretty sure we made the playoffs once as Halifax and then got crapped on in the first round of the playoffs, I know we never really had any success really. Good times.
