I am still on my first player without a clear idea of when I will retire Ryu. It is sort of a starting contest between Lord Raiden and I between who will be the last S55 player standing, so we will see who is left remaining in the end.

It was a long time ago, but I retired my first player after 8 seasons. It was tough to gauge back in the beginning how long your player would stay relevant, but I figured it was time to bring in a fresh player to grow with the team at the time.

Jakob's career was getting to its natural conclusion. I wasn't a top earner by any means, so when regression rolled around, I only had something like 1300 TPE, and at this point I had won three cups. I managed to win one more in his corpse season, which was definitely a plus. My next player was supposed to be a strict DFD, like I'm creating with Jaden, but I ended up going inactive after only a couple seasons in the majors.

The first time I retired a player in the SHL was very easy. He was old. And I have been IA for quite some while at the time so he was old and low TPE at the same time.

Like most people, once that regression hits, there's only so much you can do to keep your player competitive and help your team. Once you get to that point where you're unable to keep up with the TPE it's pretty much donzo.

I still regret retiring my player as early as I did. I guess I had stopped earning well and thought it would go better with my second player. Sadly, something happened that made me go inactive so I didn't.

First time I created I was like, a not an adult. Got hooked on the idea of fake hockey and realized it doesn't make sense to use forums as someone who just deadass wasn't alive for that era of the internet.

What brought me back in and inspired to retire Veikka Toivanen isn't anything in particular. I think the itch for some sim hockey hit me once again, as most eventual passive obsessions do, and I decided to meander back in and give it a real shot with some greater maturity. Especially now that I was like, an adult, it made a more sense and gave me time to really rip into the league. Retiring was just the path to getting back in the grind

I think Danny Marston could've gone at least another 3 seasons. It wasn't out of the question to have slogged through another 5, even. But, the story for Danny was to be pretty much one-and-done, and I got to a point where I was tired of being in the SHL. Toronto had it really rough in the early part of the FHM era, but we managed to stay mostly positive because there seemed to be promise of a better horizon. When that fell apart, I got fatigued very quickly and needed to reset. It worked out, I think. I got to have some good experiences as Shiny Shuckle, and now I'm enjoying a renewed love of the league with

All these “tell me about your firsts” are making me feel so freaking old. I retired the original Nike Kickz literally like 40 seasons ago. I don’t even remember last week. I can’t remember how that retirement felt.

There are two scenarios where Billy Hill will retire. First would be if he regresses to the point he can't keep a roster spot. Second would be getting traded from NOLA

I'm pretty sure I'll have Chris Valentine hang them up after a few seasons of regression. I don't want to retire while still useful, especially if it can benefit my team, but I don't want to be constantly treading water with TPE gains/regression.

Retiring Valters Denisova was sad but necessary. He won 3 cups but never got off the third line in SHL. I was IA for a while and it was a necessary evil. Felt bad though because most of Montreal retired around the same time

retiring this player sometime after 2k. Got to get one of those sick 2k cards atleast. After that it'll probably depend on the team needs

When I retired Tig Murphy, it came down to a point of regression and boredom sucking my enjoyment of the later stages of the career. At this point, I had also just taken over the Argonauts as an expansion GM, and getting my recreate going to provide a boost to Seattle was also a piece of it.
