As we get set to begin the second round of the SMJHL playoffs, it means that we creep ever so closer to the prestigious WJC tournament. A highlight on the calendar every season, this year should prove no different.
After last year's thrilling 1-0 Gold Medal matchup which saw Team Norden claim victory over Team ICE (with Team UCORCAL claiming Bronze), expect another great tournament from all participants.

Last season saw Team World finish at the bottom of the round robin standings and miss out on the medal rounds after finishing with a 3-0-8-1 record, giving them 10 points. They'll be anxious to improve on those numbers this time around and prove they have the mettle to hang with the other nations.
Among those returning from last year's team and expected to be difference makers are forwards Sad Ketchup (Newfoundland Berserkers) and Shawn Pawn(Quebec City Citadelles), along with defenseman Jimothee Penjiman (Detroit Falcons). The team will also feature 8 players vying to be drafted in the upcoming SHL draft.
