San Diego, March 13th, 2024 / SHN - The SMJHL's 16th team was announced today in Downtown San Diego. The newly constructed San Diego Sports Arena is going to home one of the newest expansion franchises in the SMJHL.

The franchise will be lead by the former Chicago Syndicate player, Corey Kennedy. Corey Kennedy was previously the coach for the Chicago Syndicate, stepping down a few seasons ago. Getting into management was always the intention and next step for the long time player and former coach. He will be coaching the team for the inaugural season, while looking to add on more staff as the season progresses.

Corey Kennedy stands up to the mic. "I want to first off thank my former staff and teammates in Chicago, without them I wouldn't be able to stand here today. I am very excited to be able to helm a new franchise into the future and to lead a team owned by a San Diego native"
